u cant hate on me and say im full of shit but there is no way u did a remake and did it to a T. i know this because u can even here some of the mistakes they did when they were mixing it live. so dose that me u went so far as to even make the same errors they did?

And you're right, it's not exactly the same.

The main thing was I wanted to listen to it on my ipod and have it sounding as good as possible (direct from mp3s instead of ripping the audio from the video and converting it).

I suppose the main thing I did was to start and stop the songs at the same points Xavier did live, that's about it. I wasn't aiming for 100% authenticity as such, just something that sounded close enough while learning by example

1:36 transition was TERRRIBLE, and why do you use Ableton insted of mixin it live whit VirtualDJ or Traktor Pro. Btw, you MUST change all the songs into something between 130 and 128 bmp, you havent changed any of them.

But if it helps, I've been using Ableton recently with my new M-Audio Trigger Finger and haven't looked back.

I used Virtual DJ for the live one which is linked to at the start, this one is ACID, NOT ABLETON YOU BLIND TWAT. I used Acid because I didn't have time to practice.

But the transition is bad, I know, and you're right about the tempo, other people said when I uploaded it so I redid it. It's slow is because Acid's timestretch is rubbish but I didn't want to alter the pitch. In the live one I did afterwards I sped it up to around 134bpm as Virtual DJ's timestretch is better.

I could've just not uploaded anything until I thought I was good enough but instead I decided to just upload as I go along.

I listened to 1:38 again. I'm still learning about levels and mixing and all those things slowly, I wasn't paying attention to EQ changes and stuff (it's weird doing it in Acid, I prefer it in Ableton/VDJ where you have the 3 knobs for lo/mid/hi

Thanks man, it's good to know. I've been meaning to mix it properly live (obviously Acid Pro is production-based so it's all lined up perfectly and then rendered at the end) so I guess the best way to decribe this version is as a proof-of-concept.

To be honest, considering the nice comments I've been getting, I really should edit the video info as it sounds too confrontational, moreso than what I expected people would say!

p.s. I'll probably never look at a help file in the same way again :)

yeah hearing it now it's pretty slow and i want to redo it. at the time i didn't want to mess with the tempo too much as i wanted to preserve the songs, but i've been trying it live on virtual dj and it's much better speeded up a bit. i'll probably do a video and upload that, once i've practiced (i keep messing up bits. it's a bit hard to do even though really there's not that much going on)
