The number of times kd lang's name is mentioned speaks for itself. I love this song, and there are many good covers--Buckley is one--but kd lang's numerous live performances are the best for me. When kd sings, I feel the music, and as with all live performances, each is a little different. This is nice, but I doubt I'll listen to it again.

It takes a lot of balls to take on a song that kd lang owns. Hands down, kd's gut-renching, soul-soaring Hallelujah performances make everyone else's - even Jeff Buckley's - sound limp.

Or so I thought, until I heard Susan here. Her version is just plain pretty, exquisitely so. So pure and sweet. Perfect! So, although kd still "owns" the song, Susan certainly does it justice.

I'm a KD Lang fan but I have to accept that this version is superb. This lady has such a crystal clear voice and there is some sort of sadness mixed with mystery in her renditions. It's, at a times, like the voice of a little child but you can feel a secret passion in that voice that is anything but childish.

I have tried, oh how I have tried to see what people hear in Susan Boyle's voice, but I'm afraid I don't get it. She has a mediocre voice and there are thousands of singers equal or better.
