  • If only they know that there kids were MAYBE! getting Far out on Psyhedelics!!! maybe only Cannabis! but 40 years later who cares! Great music lives across the ages!

  • what a great song, but so sad for the caddy!

  • This is an instantly forgetable track .......'.incense and peppermints' is WAY better ....and is one of the best tracks from that era

  • must have been goin thru a drug withdrawal ..... cause they ran out for an hour!

  • @frizzlefrap Please leave this classic video alone. I for one and many appreciate the posting of the classic song.

  • @frizzlefrap not sure what you mean either. I am far from a person who likes a song because it is top 40. Quite the opposite. Strawberry Alarmclock was a relatively obscure group outside of Insence and Peppermints. There was more to the group than one monster hit. I have no gripe with you since I may have misunderstood your comments as well.

  • stinky group wrecking a perfectly good old car ..... not funny .... just like their songs are in the horrible category ..... they missed the boat! ..... oooooooo .. oooooooo ...oooooooo .... too simple of refraining .... no imagination ..... except if your into drugs!

  • @frizzlefrap I seriously hope you're joking, because they're an amazing band!!!

  • @bigfootisreal100 ..... the monkees were funny .... sac isn't, in the least, with the video.

  • @frizzlefrap Hahahaha, ok the monkees are awesome, but they're nowhere near as funny as SAC!!!

  • Totally agree with Ortley, man. On my third trip to Atlantic City, that was one of my destinations . . . anyway, I filled up the gas tank in my Mustang for less that $2.50 and did a round trip not meant for squares. That was in the Spring of 1969 and lofty times they were. STP was in my car for the Atlantic City Pop Festival. That was strangely cool. My friends had to physically drag me out of the Ocean. I was only hung up on the waves for five hours. . . wave after wave after wave.

  • wtf??

  • I would rather have that car instead of the Toyota Prius. At leat the metal that is built on would protect from a car crash. I would rather be alive and pay more on gas than be dead from a Toyota Prius

  • @cool2anyone ,

Tottally agree, a new car you could pull apart with your hands, that was a 1958 caddilac and you needed sledge hammers to at least crush this tank.

  • Ryan & Martins laugh in......

    (maybe a laugh an hour.)

"lets wreck a car for fun!"

  • Seems to be their attempt at making some kind of counter culture statement, and how better than to destroy a symbol of the wealthy- a Cadillac. Of course, like today, a lot of the hippie culture, psychedelic stuff in bands was pretty contrived.

  • Song is great. What is wrong is what they are doing to that beautiful car which I guess was not thought to be beautiful in 1968.

  • this is wrong

  • this videos awsome. i have no idea what youre talking about.

  • agree

  • Another one for the cash for clunkers program

  • 'sorry, Zippy - when this was filmed, that Cadillac was a disposable second-hand car - not a gas-hog. Today, it's not a "clunker" (if maintained from new to this day, it would be on the road for decades after a new car has been crushed into a tiny cube of metal (which most of them ought to have remained in the first place - nasty insubstantial, cramped, mechanical products of some twisted idea that government regulations are written by engineers (ha, ha, ha- NOT).

  • @GilesGame It might have been second hand to you but to us collage guys it was a fine ride with room to lay in the back.

  • @zippy830 I strongly disagree. This was a hit. you want clunkers?? Go find some rap to discard please.

  • @Planktontwo Your logic is hard to follow. Perhaps there isn't any. This song is fab. I guess you had to be there to enjoy this music. If you think because a song is a hit that it's awesome you should listen to todays hits. Perhaps you do. I don't.

  • Holy smokes... Count your blessings that MTV wasn't s=around to ruin great music in the sixties, too. Truly awful video for one of the most beautiful songs ever.

But love the Rowan & Martin intro.

  • The 60's were the best.

  • Reminds me of Madness

  • very groovy see the host smokeing? been a long time since i seen tv presenters smokeing? how times change--so quick

  • @skunkhead2007 .................. smoking

  • This is so punk before Wendy O Williams or Sex Pistols trashing cars

  • What memories. I had this playing on my 8 track in my El Camino at a desert race in CA. My Greeves Challenger was leaning on my pickup and I had a cold beer in my hand. Man I miss the 60's. This is a timeless classic and great music. Is that the beginning of the Glendale freeway? I went to Glendale High just over the hill from there.

  • for those that say it's a 'dumb video', keep in mind this is like 1967-68. realistically, the only video models they had were the beatles and monkees videos. hardly 'citizen kane' material.

hell, its a great song, and the video is a function of it's time. why can't you just appreciate it for the time piece it is?

  • this is real psych . beautiful!!! i laugh

  • Arghh!!

It looks like a 1958 Impala that they are trashing!!

    **faint**

  • its either that or a '59. great cars..

  • Actually it's a 1958 Cadillac Park Avenue hardtop. If it was in the condition today that it was in before they trash it, it would be worth upwards of $20,000.

If we only knew then what we know now.

  • Ugh. That's not making me feel better.

Such a waste for a good song set to a bad film.

  • @mesmeridium .... both equal, you mean!

  • yeah it seems a caddy . i also thought 58 impala first.

  • Sunny Brit, you almost got it right! It's a 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood hardtop.

Park Avenue was actually a Buick model which didn't make its debut until 1975.

  • Actually in 1958 Cadillac built the Park Avenue (their lowest priced model that year), but GM held the rights to the name, and in 1975 they switched it to Buick.

  • SunnyBrit, I stand corrected! I really had no idea there was such a model made by Cadillac, but now I do. Thanks!

  • Great '67 song attached to a bland video.

Better to see the SAC perform this song on the clip from the Steve Allen Show, also here on YouTube. Enjoy the Band!

  • @movingon4ever ... can't, they swallow too bad!

  • yeehaw, that´s the way!

  • Stupid video

  • yeh, yo mama dont have a friggin clue

  • I don't remember seeing a music segment like this on Laugh In. They must have ditched the concept early on.

  • tomorrow never knows!!!!,but today knows only too well....!!!

  • What a marvellous statement is incorporated in this weird videoclip. Music that blows your mind combined with creative vandalism. Thanks for sharing this!

  • @ReyZame ..... let's get this right .... MUSIC THAT BLOWS ... ya mean!

  • Hell...that car back then was about 100 bucks. A sin now!

  • Those old cars were made of steel go luck trying to dent them.

  • where the hell did they get the sledge hammers from?

  • Jeez, what'd they do THAT for?!

  • I wanna do that to my car sometimes!

  • Boy, they're capering like the Monkees!

If they had put that Caddy in a garage instead of busting it up, it'd be worth about $50 k these days...

  • wow this is from the first episode of Laugh-In......

  • Gosh, there's was no time like the psychedelic 60's! Rock on forever!

  • Psychedelic music is the best :D

  • Jeez. Going to demolition derbys in the 70's I've seen a lot of pristine classics destroyed.

  • Rock N Wreck!

  • I would have shot their asses had I seen them doing this to such a Pristine auto. Great song though!

  • nice one: tomorrow and they are smashing a car. environmental issues.

  • Poor 1958 Cadillac :-(

  • is this where wendy O williams got her smashing shit with a sledge hammer routine?

  • I knew this existed becasue I remember watching this video on Laugh In as a small boy! Tomorrow is my favorite Strawberry Alarm Clock! Thanks for this great post!

  • iF you like this song you should listen to rainy day mushroom pillow.
