I love this so much. The solos are so wonderful that they rip apart my soul. Even John's dancing and stage demeanor are exciting here, and the great "bravos" from the Madrid audience are truly well-earned. Magnificent stuff.
Ah, those electronic relics. Beauty to the ears. I play the OLD digitals, but it does NO justice. In fact, some of the NEW digitals do a much better job at emulating those old sounds. (It's the EXPRESSION, hence, the SOUL, that is often missing with both old and new digital.) Really love this!
I wanted to write my first comment in 2010 about this video. This is the best live on a tv studio performance I've ever seen. John Foxx seems to project his soul from the synthesizer, making it wail with a grandeur similar to the best classical music. Truly fantastic stuff.
I will always see the shimmering sunset from the panorama of a tescos trolley, my love is not in vain, as I will always drink fresh coconut milk on Tuesday before I die.
Man, this song like many of John's still sends shivers up and down my spine! It just grows and grows into a massive song, and those wailing siren synths...just pure genius!
I must say after a quarter of a century. it sounds pretty good. For info, thats David Levy on bass, Peter Oxendale on keyboards, Robin Simon on guitar and yours truly on the Simmons SDS V kit.
Great! I´ve listen at first time Foxx songs, in the 80,s with the astounding "The Garden" , "In Mysterious Ways" (Stars on Fire, Enter the Angel) or "The Golden Section"
Jupiter 8...yep..still have mine..wonderful synthesizer..purchased in '86 for $350 from a guy selling to buy dx7! at that time 'digital' was it, non-midi analog considered 'junk' & 'unusable'.. funny how times change..
absolutely astounding! such a talented man. i wish amazing bassist zeus b. held appeared more clearly. one of the best live tv performances i've seen.
