I saw one of these a few weeks ago when I went to dahab - they are incredible, it blows your mind to have something so beautiful and alien just dancing like that in front of you - they look fascinating in books, but maybe you have to actually see it to appreciate how beautiful it really is!? Saw it on a night dive, so privaliged!!

It certainly is, and you should try it sometime. There is nothing hairy, scary, warty, ugly or nasty about invertebrates, they're simple, elegant and pretty shapes with pretty textures. They're also just plain cool, interesting and amazing.

It's very sad that anyone could be so blind as to find such creatures "gross"...and it's rarer than you think. It's mostly a cultural thing, English speakers are 10 times more likely to dislike invertebrates, for no reason other than upbringing. It's crazy.

This is a nudibranch (or "seaslug") The lightercolored tenticles you see in one spot are actually it's gills. I love these guys.
