I agree to differ... completely..! it is only recently that London has been able to blend old and new with such character and style compared to the French and the Spanish, only through innovative design can we move forward. i've lived in london, rio and NYC, ALL have great icons of the world that were poo poo'd by yourself and others and are now irreplaceable.. long live laid back thinking and creativity.!

Answer: YES IT BLOODY DOES. And it is horrible. Architects seldom have to live around but not use the buildings they create. While looking modern and interesting on paper, a lot of their creations quickly become tacky eyesores in reality. I often feel that our modern monstrosities are arrogant personal statements by selfish architects.

After all, more people pay to visit old buildings than new ones. But what do I know; I'm just a taxpayer...
