  • Is it sweet? I wanna try some.

  • It's not alive, it's nerves.

  • I want to try it

  • Its gonna strangulate your stomach, you know that Pierre?

  • STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!!!!!!! THEY MOVE BECAUSE OF PAIN!!!!!!!!! THEY EXPOSE TO LEMON JUICE! WOULDN'T THINK YOU ENJOY BEING EATEN ALIVE!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!

  • @spasiboalisher it's an octopus. Are you going to say eating chicken is bad too? An octopus tentacle doesn't move from pain, it's nerves still not completely stopped. The arms are not alive, they are just moving. Calm down.

  • @spasiboalisher

Oh yeah, I totally forgot that the nervous system in an octopus is in its tentacles.

    Herp.

    Derp.

  • Do you people know the diffrence between 'alive' and 'moving'? This one is not alive, just moving.

  • ไอ้ เชี้ย หลั่ง..โอโห

  • I am Korean, and i ate it when I was about 4 years old, but the one of leg stuck in my teeth so hard, I gotta pull my teeth off...

  • good for what can i say its ur belly :D peace out

  • i would love to try that someday!

  • I don't eat anything that is alive and larger than a millimeter

  • every single cell is its own brain. 4 reel guyz. it tru. u half tuw beleev me

  • lol that's so scary that it can get stuck in your throat if you don't chew it up since it can still suction. /shudders

  • i don't know what people think about alive octopus, but i reeeeaaaally want some right now..

  • I guess you're holding the chopsticks in a wrong way. 3 Fingers should set to the movable stick. But, i know your way to eat with them, it also works, that should be the main thing.

  • even if it is alive....you think it's predators in the sea would cook it up....no.

there is nothing wrong with eating live seafood, as long as you do it naturally.

  • Acho que esse cara é capaz de comer até o próprio pinto. cruz credo!

  • There is a difference between raw and alive.

  • Legs, tentacles, it really doesn't matter to me.

  • The octopus isn't alive, smart one. The legs just have some left over nerve impulses. That's all.

  • legs? Octopi have LEGS?!

  • even among carnivores

animals kill their prey before eating them

but wolves eat even when their prey's alive

and for that they are considered brutal animals

and here tell me the difference between wolves n u people !

  • Which carnivores kill their prey before they start eating them? It's not like a tiger is going to hit their prey and wait for them to die and then eats them, carnivores also love eating it fresh not decayed or something..Their prey dies as the carnivores eats them, so that means they eat them alive..

  • @uuuoii123 we liekz mudkelpz and wofves dun't,i tyep awsom raght?

  • Gosh people it's about trying different cultural foods. It may look disgusting but at the same time... it looks yummy (my opinion). Let's just keep living as is?

  • I think we are going to be the klingons. This looks like Gagh

  • i don't even like octopus cooked.

  • That proves how lazy the world is getting, eating food that automatically slathers itself in sauce.

  • Whats wrong with raw food? It has a nice freshness in them.

  • Interesting... I would love to try it! Doesn't look too appetizing, but neither does some of my favorite food...

I think it still moves because of the ATP (adenine tri-phosphate) left in the body causing the muscles to contract. Don't quote me on that though.

  • Mh, quite disgusting! But, I can't say nothing: here in Italy we have a kind of cheese, that has a particular kind of worm living inside it, and this little beasts sometimes are even eaten with the cheese itself...

  • Comment removed

  • LOL that tanticle put sauce itself XD

  • Only reason I won't try live octopus or squid is because I saw an episode of CSI (I think it was New York) where this guy killed a woman with one.

  • More moving more delicious ... lol.

  • Oh its not live btw

Its just the muscles (or whatever) twitching after a recent death. But nonetheless I still wanna try it :)

  • yummy!!

  • I want it to slowly decompose in my stomach.

  • can anybody please tell where i could do this in LA.. i've been wanting to eat octopus the longest.. stupid internet doesn't help -___-"

  • Disgusting. I wouldn't eat something that started off looking like a used condom in the first place, nevermind if it was wriggling.

  • There are some people that thinks that your favorite food looks disgusting aswell

  • Yes I think it looks disgusting, but the people who cut these things up while their alive without killing them first and then EAT them while they are wriggling are even more disgusting and should be burned alive.

  • Yea well, your food's disgusting too. I hope you get burned alive for it.

  • @mysticalpotato86

    totally agree with u man

  • Generally speaking if its still moving you know its fresh and hasn't been dead in refrigeration for a few days. Once again, give you respect that you ate a once living animal. Think about that next time you're shopping at a Supermarket. Yes, I love to eat seafood and meat :)

  • Very good arguments. Cheers!!

  • if this could came with some humming noises, that would increase my appetite even more..., !!

  • Generally speaking, a good rule of thumb is if it's still moving, don't eat it.

  • yay sounds good let's start with you

  • You know, I love it when people make up the most ridiculous excuses as to how something is still alive and then immediately go from that argument to the proposal that we should commit genocide on everyone that doesn't agree with them.

  • Haha, hypocrisy in it's purest form. Sweet.

  • you and others will probably care less, but...

i think it's "half of an octopus' [or "octopus's"] brain" --not "half of an octopii's..."

that's like saying "half of a women's [whatever]" instead of "half of a woman's [whatever]."

the plural "octupii" does not agree with the singular "an."

  • It's live. So what? It's tasty and nourishing. Shouldn't you be throwing paint on some ladies' fur coat?

  • I wish that octopus could grab those chopsticks and stick them through his eyed. Damn frenchies. Ive had octopus back in the day but I will never again. Too smart and unique to eat. This f*ckstick goes against all that Darwin noted... and He was taking notes on mother nature!!!

  • herp derp I respect nature

  • hahah stfu u queer.

  • how can you eat a moving tentacle o_o its gonna move in your stomach! ahh!

  • to everyone saying its being eatin alive:

    ITS NOT FUCKING ALIVE

  • "it is because you are not the squid that been eaten alive

if u r in his/her shoe. you will think differently."

If I were the octopus, I would be thinking all I can do is shoot ink. Please kill me!

Octopus is fucking tasty. Especially raw in hot sauce.

  • that was directed toward borgchennai

  • idiots.

  • Hi All,

you all make so many yummy comments,

dun even care for how it feel!

you can argue with all your beautiful words

    i only can say

it is because you are not the squid that been eaten alive

if u r in his/her shoe. you will think differently.

  • they need 8 shoes...

  • Lol true.

  • that'd be expensive

  • from this movie, they are all french people

  • no offense but your from India, I wouldn't throw stones in a glass house if your talking about being uncivilized or evolved.

  • i think you're the most 'uncivilized' for still thinking that way. get your head out of your ass, this is the 21st century.

  • yummy!! i missed this so much...

  • Thats squid. Not Octopus.

  • Absolutely delectable.

Fresh fish + green tea leaves + seaweed = longer life span, lower weight, happier times. Gotta love Japan. No wonder their technological inventions kick americans' ass.

  • i first saw one of these live food vid's 1 hour ago...then i tough its apsolutly gross and cruel.

Been looking vid's like this last few mins, and now i wanna try it, seems delicious :P

  • It is. I've tried it several times is Korea and Japan and it s really good!!!

  • Im hungry now :D

  • Most people including japanese know Sashimi is traditional food of Japan, but It is not accurate . Inhabitants live in seaside town have eaten Sashimi usually(my grandmother dislike Sashimi because she born and bred in mountain villege). Even some Japanese

    therefore,eat nasty and wrong,dangerous Sashimi.

    Take care! Raw fish not=Sashimi.

  • octopus legs are teh best :p

  • food that dips itself, gotta love it ^^

  • lol i love these!!!!!

  • those are soooooooo good!!!

  • Actually... this is more accurately described as Ikizukuri Sashimi...

  • That would be the Japanese version- this is korean - San Nakji.

  • Yes,this is Korean-San Nachi,not Sashimi.

In Japanese Sashimi, raw octopus is rare.Ordinary sashimi octopus is boiled because rare octopus is so slimy, bad smell. Many korean eat raw beef traditionally(I like it),but raw fish later, and so they and other asian sometime seems to get mistake about eating raw fishes.

Eating raw fish dangerous without care.

  • Yes it is..

  • i f*ck your stomach

    sizin midenizi s*kim

  • Its not sashimi. Its korean.

    Heard that those taste good.

  • I've eaten this a couple of times, it is good, but the suckers (reflex action) grabbing your tongue is rather strange.

And yes it was in S. Korea.

Don't know the Korean name for it though.

From my experience, this is usually found in coastal towns and cities(where they can be delivered live.)

  • YUCK!!!!!

  • That actually looks delicious, especially in the red sauce. Sashimi rocks.

  • Rabiddawg2;

about the red sauce, you better like spicy.

That red color does not come from tomatoes ;-)

And yes , I have enjoyed that dish, it is actually served as an appetizer.

The next course was a flat fish (sole or a small halibut) that was sectioned into sashimi from a whole live fish.

There was still a reflex action occasionally from the mouth/gills.

After we were finished with the sashimi part, the remainder was cooked into a soup for the last course.

  • Oh yeah, looks delicious, I would like to try it too!

  • Oh year of course, they love smelly kisses :D

  • no way

  • OMG I even have rubber balls eating fried octopus

  • lol sashimi is japanese smart one

  • It's actually really good, just like regular sashimi!

  • Who Gis a shit? lol he ate it its gone BYE NOW. the main question here is...... Was it good lol it did not look very apatising :D

  • hey solarcycle u sound like a vegan. vegetables have feelings too!

and also u seem to confuse this delicacy for japanese - its actually korean, you moron

  • octopus!!!

  • GUY THIS IS KOREAN FOOD.

  • Solarcycles;

you are trying to impose your own cultural values upon an entirely different culture. Guess what?, It doesn't work!, this imposition and judgment is a failure that people keep having to learn and re-learn through history, the only ones that had any real success were the Romans, and even they used very brutal methods to impose their culture upon other fairly similar cultures.

I don't judge other cultures, I just enjoy what they have to offer.

If it is unusual food, then so be it.

  • danwill99:

Really, you don't say. Changes happen when people say they want changes. The power of people is incredible today. The power of the internet is instant. Your history is old history, today it's digital technologies. Mobile phones are the eyes of the world now. So cultures changes very quickly. Look at China, they are willing and forcing changes even if it means death. Look at Iraq and on and on and on...

  • Ah, Solarcycles;

There is a saying, "the more things change, the more they remain the same".

Changes are influenced by the culture that one was raised with. This was what the Romans used.

If one considers the success that they had with it, then it worked rather well for a rather long period of time.

And, no, I don't have the Roman view that "any culture that is not my own is that of a savage".

I merely accept other peoples views as their own, (stupid 500 char limit!), thanks for responding :-)

  • They may not be suffering but any living creatures who have nerves must feel pain. Japanese loves to be entertained torturing. Look what they did to Chinese. I loved the old ancient Japan philosophy. Many will not understand that having a fish thats been sliced and yet kept alive for consumption is barbaric.

  • that's korean. You can take it from me, I'm korean.

  • Did you know a secret underground ritual is being practiced in this age? Yes a very secret. 6 holes around a round table. They put a monkey through the hole and clamp it so they don't move. Then the top of the head is slice open. The monkey is still alive. Few minutes later 6 people enter the room and start eating at the monkeys brain while still alive. Live monkey sushi brain. So you asked where does it stop?

  • Well said!!!

  • Don't be stupid. The monkey brain thing is an urban legend.

  • I've heard that before. It's most certainly an urban legend. Interesting that it originated in asia itself, used by one group of asians to attack another to point out their barbarism. It got to a point where southern chinese accused beijingers of doing so and vice versa, when in fact no one was doing it. it's stupid.

  • oh my god!what a creepy!im japanese but i have never eaten living sashimi!!!oh no!!!is this japanese restaurent?i dont think so!!!

  • korean i think

  • no no, octopus!

  • octopus?

    I think that a squid.
