I like both versions of the song. The Crew Cuts' version is Jazzy, this version has a rock n' roll vibe. The bass singer in this version is cooler though. That is a REALLY low voice.

this is the original, quite simply it was re-recorded by the crew cuts because the record companies would be able to market it to the wider white population, and parents were angry they were not used to rock and roll or r&b at the time so the crew cuts version is slowed down.

But I heard the Chords version & it makes you want to take to the floor & cut it up! It's Day & Night, Black or White. What is considered to be great music is constantly changing.

What never changes is the people complaining about "modern" music not being "real".

The classics seem better because time filters out all the stuff that wasn't memorable. In this day and age we have access to exponentially more music created by all varieties of artists from anywhere in the world. If you cant find music that is both "modern" and "real" to your standards, you haven't really looked for it.
