Pretty Cool lesson here, Covers the topic quite well. Ive just made a bunch of detailed courses for beginners and advanced guitarists that you might be interested in. Check it out! would love to know what you and anyone watching this video thinks. Its totally free, and i mean TOTALLY
i tried to click the link but and the webside there's only links to other websides where i can buy guitars or get lessons from a professionel somewhere in europe..
what am i to use the link to if there aren't any lessons on the side? :)
@haschdwa what country u live in u shud be able to get a great guitar from a local music shop like i did.they even gave me a free chords booklet and tuned my guitar!
I've been looking for someone to explain it simple like this. Thanks, most people assume you are already familiar with the guitar when they teach. This is great.
the reason this version of the g chord is used is to help transition to the c chord that is in this series of lesson.
both the g and c chords have the 3rd and 4th fingers in the exact same position in these lessons. the 1st and 2nd fingers retain the same shape, but move you string higher.
either version of the the g chord...three or four fingers is musically correct. the version of the c chord is actually a "C add 9", it sounds good but may not be appropriate in all situations.
Jake Kelly! Didn't you used to be on Gary Allan's band?! I remmeber Gary saying.. "Jake Kelly on the guitar....!".. and you'd break away with a solo (perhaps, the song Runaway?).. :-)
yeah, the one and the same. it's cool (for me) you remembered. i have more videos that you will find at my my.space page. do a search on jakekellyonguitar. there's also some of my own quirky music there.
hi, i'm jake, the guy that did this video. just to clear things up somewhat, there are several ways to finger the g chord (and every other chord). the reason i choose this fingering for the video is for an ease of transition to the variation of the c chord in the second video of this series, which keeps the third and fourth finger in exactly the same position (as an anchor) and moves the 1st and 2nd fingers to the next higher string. hope this helps.
Thank you. I am wanting to teach my sons and I haven't a clue how to play a guitar. This was the most simple thing to learn......I have to see it to understand it. Now I can get them started correctly. Thanks again. I might actually learn myself. Keep it up.
Can Some1 HELP ME!? When ever i hold a string down. Lets say 4th fret on the D string, my finger touches the string below that. So when i play an open G its muffled. I can take my finger off the D, but what if i need to play a chord. Its because my finger is being squished when i press a note and it bumps the other string too. I tried playing with my tips and lifting my hand a little higher, placin the finger b4 the fret, but nthing. I have a 36' Guitar and i am 14 kind of short, not that much.
try putting your thumb on the center of the back of the neck, that should help your fingers arch more so just the fingertips touch the string. i know that not how i held the guitar in the video, but i learned with bad technique. all the best, jake
HELP!! I have small fingers like a 7 year olds and the cords dont really work for me! Cuz of my fingers they dont really spread far apart enough for this so what should i do??

why do some sources say to play the G chord like this, and others say to only use 3 fingers (on the 6th, 5th, and 1st chords)?
