  • i tried to click the link but and the webside there's only links to other websides where i can buy guitars or get lessons from a professionel somewhere in europe..

what am i to use the link to if there aren't any lessons on the side? :)

  • @haschdwa what country u live in u shud be able to get a great guitar from a local music shop like i did.they even gave me a free chords booklet and tuned my guitar!

  • I've been looking for someone to explain it simple like this. Thanks, most people assume you are already familiar with the guitar when they teach. This is great.

  • Is it supposed to feel awkward?

  • @laurarox80 yep.

  • you'll get it after several tries :D

  • it might not sound Right because your guitar mite not be tuned Right...

  • ITS PERFECT IT SOUNDED GOOD ON MY GUITAR

  • check out guitarmanual.typepad.com/blog/ for beginner lessons ebook or search google for guitar manual ebook blog, thanks!!!

  • Um, your site is down. Your website link just goes to a page full of links for ads.

  • mines bein an asshole

  • mine sound like DUMP

  • awesome

  • he talks like a tard :L xD

  • why do some sources say to play the G chord like this, and others say to only use 3 fingers (on the 6th, 5th, and 1st chords)?

  • the reason this version of the g chord is used is to help transition to the c chord that is in this series of lesson.

both the g and c chords have the 3rd and 4th fingers in the exact same position in these lessons. the 1st and 2nd fingers retain the same shape, but move you string higher.

either version of the the g chord...three or four fingers is musically correct. the version of the c chord is actually a "C add 9", it sounds good but may not be appropriate in all situations.

  • G - Chord, synonim to G - String? Haha

I'm having trouble with my fingers, either that or my guitar's clutch isn't working right =S

    Help!!

  • it gives me the right toon but its too short

  • this was awesome. short and to the point :] exactly how i like it. im syked i learned my first chord lol.

  • hi i am wondering what is a good cheap beginner acoustic guitar?

  • Uhh... i suggest you go to walmart lol.

they have guitar sets for like... 40$

take care of it, or it will break quickly.

  • the best one is a meatel

  • Jake Kelly! Didn't you used to be on Gary Allan's band?! I remmeber Gary saying.. "Jake Kelly on the guitar....!".. and you'd break away with a solo (perhaps, the song Runaway?).. :-)

  • yeah, the one and the same. it's cool (for me) you remembered. i have more videos that you will find at my my.space page. do a search on jakekellyonguitar. there's also some of my own quirky music there.

    jake

  • I JUST DIED!

  • i cant do it, but im getting lessons soon anyways, so, doesn't matter.

  • Thank you so MUCH! i really appreciate you posting this video! and it's so easy to understand! thanks again!

  • Why is it that we all sound horrible? Are you sure thats correct? Do you need something else with it?

  • eh, mine sounds terrible!

  • @dablankrainbow same!!

  • @dablankrainbow mine sounds constipated or some shit DX i fail

  • ive been playing 4 6 yrs and i KNOW that you dont use your 4 finger so that is wrong!!

  • then u dont know shit/suck

  • yea i was wonderin about that...i don't use my 4th either.

  • hi, i'm jake, the guy that did this video. just to clear things up somewhat, there are several ways to finger the g chord (and every other chord). the reason i choose this fingering for the video is for an ease of transition to the variation of the c chord in the second video of this series, which keeps the third and fourth finger in exactly the same position (as an anchor) and moves the 1st and 2nd fingers to the next higher string. hope this helps.

  • idk if im doing it wrong

but it just doesnt make noise

wen i play the"G" it suks

can you pease tel me what im duing wrong

  • Thank you. I am wanting to teach my sons and I haven't a clue how to play a guitar. This was the most simple thing to learn......I have to see it to understand it. Now I can get them started correctly. Thanks again. I might actually learn myself. Keep it up.

  • my hands are too small what can i do ???

  • do you need a plectron? because i haven't got one. could this be the reason that it sounds bad?

  • i'm too dumb to play it :( no matter what i do it always sounds bad!

  • no your not.nobody is too dumb for anything.einstein failed grade 12 math or something like that.

  • I NEED A TUNER! even though i do the same thing, it doesn't make the same sound as yourS! I NEED HELP!

  • my 5th strings broken

    what do i do?

  • LOL, i have the same problem as : Tspector24 , is super irritating!!! WHAT CAN WE DO? get a bigger guitar?

  • 1 2 3 4 four fingers so thats what they are

  • Can Some1 HELP ME!? When ever i hold a string down. Lets say 4th fret on the D string, my finger touches the string below that. So when i play an open G its muffled. I can take my finger off the D, but what if i need to play a chord. Its because my finger is being squished when i press a note and it bumps the other string too. I tried playing with my tips and lifting my hand a little higher, placin the finger b4 the fret, but nthing. I have a 36' Guitar and i am 14 kind of short, not that much.

  • try putting your thumb on the center of the back of the neck, that should help your fingers arch more so just the fingertips touch the string. i know that not how i held the guitar in the video, but i learned with bad technique. all the best, jake

  • if my guitar sounds messed up when i play that chord, what do i do?? i tuned it and whatnot, whats the problem?

  • HELP!! I have small fingers like a 7 year olds and the cords dont really work for me! Cuz of my fingers they dont really spread far apart enough for this so what should i do??

  • get a smaller guitar???

  • i already have a plenty small guitar, my pointer fingers like 7 cm long!!

  • grow

  • as if i havent tried!!

  • LOL, you just have to get use to it. Sorry, that's the best advice I can give you. ;[

  • well thnxs to every1 that tried!!

  • thanks keep it coming
