Laurie, you are the Light and Hope for these children!! Sweet little Jane, you have shown the world the heart of our Creator, in all you did for your brother and sister!! I don't know how anyone could watch the "Sam and Esther" video, and not cry their eyes out!! We take so many things for granted, here in the U.S. We are fortunate, that those who are hungry can be fed, if someone/somewhere is aware of their suffering. May God continue His work in Africa!
This is the first comment I've ever put up on a Youtube because I've always thought they were dumb and no one cares what you have to say anyway. I love that little girl. Its very hard to connect with humans or care for strangers, but she is an incredible human being. Your religion is irrelevant-- you have done something beautiful for someone else and given life where only death and ignorance lived. You actually had me crying; please tell me how all three of them are doing.
@judaswept Thank you! I've just arrived back from Uganda this week and Jane is doing well. I stay with her and with Sam and Esther when I visit. Jane is a remarkably resilient young girl. She is 12 now and is fluent in English, curious, funny and she loves reading, football and dancing. Sam and Esther are cared for by two sweet young women, and a physical therapist comes in twice a week. Jane does well in school. She will dance in a Christmas Cantata with her church and has good friends.
You are my inspiration Jane. May the GREAT GOD BLESS YOU and YES you are my heroin. I pray to GOD that 1 day i may meet you I don't know how but GOD knows
Thanks for the comments. Jane is doing so well...she is 12 now since the first video was made 4 years ago and is a top student in her school. She is bright and loving and opinionated and funny...just what she should be! She lives with her brother and sister and caregivers...they get physical therapy and a special diet and care as they are very fragile from the early neglect.
hello jane when i saw ur video i was cry and sobbing because i saw ur liitle brother and your little sister on the mud swam over there and You make a way to clean ur younger brother and sister.Jane in your age you are not going to take over that kind of responsibility >you must enjoy your being childhood.
I will pray for you/ I love u baby girl jane..i really cry
@richard25644 Thank you for your concern...Jane has had a different life these past few years. She goes to school and is at the top of her class..she takes dance class and plays games and tells stories! All of this because some caring people have stepped in to help us help her and nearly 100 kids like her. When I go to Kampala I stay with her and her siblings. May God use your tears to accomplish great things!
Such a cute and brave little girl,May Allah bless her,.......she is my inspiration.
Lots and lots of love and prayers from me and my country(Pakistan),specially for this little girl and for all those who r in a very difficult situation, i'll meet as many people as possible to send their prayers to this child and to the foundation that's helping such kids and families.
@ammar906 Thank you so much for your caring words! She is inspiring...and now she has as normal a childhood as possible. Thanks for sharing her story with your friends. I hope you find us at village2villageproject (dot) org and on face book! :) Many blessings to you.
Jane you have inpsired me so much i cannot stop thinking about you and the way you pushed on showing love and care to you sister and brother.I still cry when i think of you but at the sametime i am filled with joy know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, you are a TRUE HERO. and thank you all the team who made the impossible to be possible.
Thank you so much for writing. Yes, there are those who never venture out of their comfort zone in every culture. Sometimes we need to leave behind the idea of what we have to offer and just offer what we have--Jesus said a cup of cold water is enough if that is what we have to give. If everyone does something, there will be much love shared with those whose greatest need is to matter to someone. Blessings to you~thanks for caring.
thank you Laurie for bringing this to light.honestly even most Africans themselves are not aware of these extremes until documentaries like these are on media.i'm one of them.i wish there could be more projects that will bring this to everyone's attention.God bless everyone who is sponsoring a human being in need.
God bless the humanitarians who discovered her and her siblings....I know God will use her to do greater things...this is just the begining..Oh God shame all those who are against...and use these children to touch the lives of many.
This is wonderful and moving. I wonder, is it possible for people to be moved to reach out to others without religion to motivate them? It would be all the more amazing if this were the case.
Such a brave little girl :( made me cry so much it really did blow me away, im so glad they all found help. We always seem to forget the other half of our brothers and sisters ='(
