  • fucking AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • screw acid, ill just watch this... :D

  • Heavy shit....love it

  • Intro sounds like Pantera - 10s.

  • ridiculous riff,well done.

  • Heavy as fuck.

  • Great Song. Who here likes Jerry Cantrell's Solo's, Boggy Depot & Degradation Trip? Their BADASS!!

  • @ThEmB0nEz man everything that jerry has done or will be doing in music will always be fucking good, the man is immortal when writing REAL music, boogy and degradation to me are already considered classic! this song is drilling into my brain, the chainsaw riff! fucking cool cant stop blasting this song in 2 years now!

  • Why would I interested in the new 'Dappy' single? Does the fact that it's titled "Rockstar" and I'm listening to AIC have something to do with it...silly advertisement. Anyway, top song and album - can't wait for new material!

  • Best song in years hands down.

  • if i could only find it first.

  • I remember Facelift coming out and thinking this group is destined to stick around.

  • i think it sounds great too. you guys should check out our new music, the damned outlanders. we do a cover of nutshell, and some of our own stuff. if you like it subscribe, and share. thanks, the damned outlanders.

  • how the f--k is 'coldplays viva la vida' a "suggestion" for this band? motherf--ks....

  • @motomyke1 i second that

  • 213 people don't have a brain to check..

  • That's so damn badass.

  • Sorrow enters my heart when i hear AIC's , and i am sure someone will need to check my Brain as i am not able to think without AIC . Ray in Pa

  • Never fails to impress me how they came back and kicked ass!!

  • i do like the fact that even thou lane died they are still willing to rock.they will always rock.

  • @zombietvchannel2 man as long as jerry lives, the legacy of AIC will never die!!

  • xheck my brain... cuz they just blew it!

  • Layne se sta a rivortà nella tomba, mannaggia a te jerry cantrell venduto del cazzo!!!! potevi startene a casa e lasciare un bel ricordo di te, invece no, dovevi cagare sopra a quanto di buono avevi fatto. VENDUTO

  • @mamglasond go shove some cannoli up your arse, you fuckin'-spaghetti-eatin' macarroni-n-cheese-addict-greaseball-mafioso-wop-guido-dago-fuckin' guinea!!

  • @CobainInChainz are you joking son of an alpaca??

  • Check My Brain

  • I have to say, I still love this song and this album. The guitar on this track sounds so disorienting, like an old vinyl record being played off its center. They still have those weird, creepy harmonies and tones going on. And as a now, what? two decade fan of this band? (yikes) I'm happy they returned, they lost a lot of time 'not recording' in the 90s. RIP Layne Stayley, Mike Starr... even when I hear something off Jar of Flies it's hard not to miss that unique voice of Layne's.

  • Apparently to be a true AiC fan you have to like their new and old music. AiC has bin my favorite band for years, but why do I have to like their new music for me to be a fan. In my opinion they don't sound anything like their old selves. It's not that they aren't a good band, I just wish they we'rent called AiC.

  • @Panda6568 Well it's all opinions. You can be a fan of any band you like and not be a fan of their older or newer stuff. A perfect example of this is Metallica and Megadeth. Both of their newer stuff are definitely not as good as their older stuff, but others think their newer stuff is actually better. Like I said, it's all opinions.

  • Why do people have to put a label on everything... Just enjoy the music...Jeeez...

  • took me several listens to enjoy, but now I like it! Im mostly a fan of the older stuff.

  • ROFL

  • Jerry in chains aint AIC.

  • CANTRELL IS THE SOUL OF ALICE IN CHAINS!! Layne is an amazing singer, lyricist and charismatic frontman, but the true AIC sound comes from Cantrell's riffs and guitar shredding... its unfair for the Sean, the two Mikes and Jerry to say only Layne was AIC, no such thing, AIC was and is a fuckin wolf-pack!!! RIP Staley, LONG LIVE AIC!!!

  • @CobainInChainz

This is very true. As much as I love Layne's voice and miss the hell out of hearing him, Cantrell is, as Reggie Jackson would say, the straw that stirs the drink.

  • @CobainInChainz man I COULDN'T AGREE MORE, without CANTRELL it would be pretty much a joke for this band to carry on..Layne was respected but its always been cantrell as the fuel for this band.

  • People acquired such a sympathy for Layne Staley that they just can't realize how BADASS this song is.

  • can everyone just stop complaining about how "their old stuff...." its just annoying if all they're "stuff" was the same as yesterday the band would just get old.

  • Californication :)

  • No one can make a one-note riff sound as good as Jerry Cantrell.

  • Alice in Chains then and Alice in Chains now are both wonderful. I miss Layne. Yes. But he is gone and the band needs to carry on with their wonderful music.

  • I've said it many times before and I'll say it again: DuVall is not Layne, period. No one is! Time to move on. DuVall is terrific! The new album is amazing! I saw them live this year and they were phenomenal, I loved every second. DuVall does Layne very well, so stop criticising. If you don't like it, go listen to the modern 'music' out there; now that's something worth criticising!

  • i love how their are bandwagon jumpers with A.I.C.

and by the way... OH YEAH !

  • layne is by far the most underrated musical genius of any generation....i miss him....but i love the new alice for keeping it going.....its better than any buttrock thats out today....thanks guys from one musician to another

  • Not really I'm just saying nobody really cares about anybody else's opinion (or shouldn't). My point is confused because I'm hungover and not thinking straight. Have a nice life

  • I love this song even thought its not the same guy.

  • alice in chains is not grunge

  • @skullkrusher381 nobody cares about your opinion. You are a small fish in a huge pond and your lifespan is limited. I appreciate the irony in this claim as you (nor anybody else) cares about my opinion

    Good day to you Sir

  • @Blorgize I care about your opinion, but nobody cares that I care.... is that your point?

    Take care.....

  • They haven't found a way to kill Grunge yet... Alice In Chains is still going, working on another album now! Can't wait...

  • @TheSkittles1001 Please. Grunge died years ago. AiC and Soundgarden are hard rock/metal. Period.

  • @steelerfreak1977 How can you say this song is anything but Grunge, along with several other songs on Black Gives Way To Blue. And Alice In Chains is making another album which will be Grunge, Chevelle and Tantric are Post-Grunge, some of Breaking Benjamin's music is Grunge... If you don't like Grunge, then don't listen or visit any Alice In Chains pages. Grunge isn't done, period.

  • And... VEVO STILL SUCKS ASS FUCKIN SLOW SHITTY CORPORATE GARBAGE!!!!!!!

  • Trippy... Dark... Muddy...Rockin'

    Yup it's AIC

    Thanks Jerry!!!

We all miss Layne but gotta give the new Dude credit... not easy replacing a legend.

  • 0:17 = EPIC POWERSTANCE

  • I fucking love DuVall, I even tried to hate him 'cause he's not Layne but I couldn't do it. If anyone was born to replace Layne, DuVall is that man.

  • I never heard this before.sounds good. I remember their other songs.

  • Sounds just as good as their old stuff. They were (and are) one of the few 90's bands with amazing talent and songwriting. I'm personally glad to see them moving ahead with new material. They continued at the behest of their fan base. Good for them.

  • Around here, after 7 o'clock its Chains or Nuthin

  • @MasterDurge01 i like your thinking good sir

  • anyone trolling on the new AIC isn't a true AIC fan. period.

  • @FreakinRican6969 AMEN BROTHER!

  • @FreakinRican6969 Muy thoughts, exactly.

  • @FreakinRican6969 Your an Idiot..............thats like being a fan of the new england patriots and say they lose tom brady.......would you still be a fan???? ur fake

  • @FreakinRican6969 A fucking men brother

  • @FreakinRican6969 actually i am a true aic fan whats wrong dont jerry's new shit

  • Comment removed

  • @FreakinRican6969 Not really. I like both the old and new AIC

  • Chris Cornell .... hummm sell out to Wally World ..... U go AIC

  • @enigma3135 anyone who says someone sells out, will sell out b4 anyone else. thumbs up to Chris Cornell & AIC

  • This is one of their best riffs, fits in perfectly with the old stuff.

  • @JustinSimm90 For real, when I first heard this song i thought it was an old one that was unreleased. I was surprised to find out how recent it was

  • Love the song, love the band with or without Layne Staley. Layne was amazing, but he is dead. Time to move on folks and enjoy what's ahead.

  • Layne > new Stuff

  • @georgykicksass Alive > Dead

  • Miss you, Layne.

  • I cant believe how good this song sounds.

    Just so good.

  • Layne was the man, ok....... enough said, but he's gone so get the fuck over it. A.I.C still rock, just a pity it took so long for another album. Makes me sick of dumb fucks complaining, oh, it's not Layne so it's no good. Just appreciate it for what it is, not what it isn't and get over yourself.

  • I like the old AIC, and it sucks the original guy's dead.

But this song is good too.

  • Hail Jerry Cantrell!

  • That video kinda sucked compared to ole AIC vids. It was cheap looking. But the song was good.

  • sucks that those two died

  • @ryantheawsomeful only layne is dead.

  • @latrelus mike starr is dead too

  • @hschick3 That sux I just found out a lil bit ago!

  • this is nothin compared to grind u fuckin idiot alice in chains sucks without layne stayley and mike starr

  • @ryantheawsomeful no, it doesnt. alice in chains still kicks ass. i guess u forgot the other 2 founding members, sean and jerry. a true AIC fan would accept them, regardless. guess ur not a true fan. mike and layne would be happy seeing them continue.

RIP Layne Staley & Mike Starr

keep rocking Jerry, Will, Mike & Sean. dont let the flame die out!

  • if this had a different name this would be great but under AIC's name, I don't like it.

  • @RDprodx Jesus. What did they do to betray you?

  • @EdMcStinko

nothing, im not angry at em of anything. like the guy above this comment...

Basically Alice In Chains' music was mostly written by Cantrell but, like Cantrell said, Layne's lyrical influence made the band what it was. And I respect them for carrying on Layne's legacy with the band but they should have really changed the name if they wanted to write new material.

Or make it a tribute band if they wanted to play the original stuff. It's not right without Layne,so it's not AIC to me

  • Cool.

I didnt know what to make of the song at first but when the singing began everything else kinda abruptly fit together, very cool song.

Reminds me a bit of Grind that way.

  • coool good work guys

  • Good ol' motherfckers all the way

  • wow love this sonug

  • Can't get enough of this guitar riff. Its awesome.

  • dont like new chains but this song is badass

  • no one and I mean NO ONE has made song as epic as this!

  • Epic afro lol.

Seriously though they couldn't have picked a better "replacement" for Lane in my opinion. R.I.P. Lane but this is pretty badass.

  • @blahblahblahman he sounds similar to lane

  • Proper heavy riff.

  • never a singer as good as layne or never a better bass player than mike starr R.I.P Layne and Mike

  • @TheAnthonyjames1007 i disagree, mike inez is an established player, before joining chains in 93, he used to play with ozzy, well if he is not that good go ask ozzy for hiring him lol

  • this song kicks ass

  • HANK MOODY

  • Love this song but Jar of Flies was their best ever.

  • Just something about this... DuVall really makes this band so darn good. It's a feel thing. Plus - Cantrell's harmonies & distinct sound. Yeah

  • I like the new AIC in it's own way, but I think I would like them more if they weren't still named Alice in Chains.. you know what I'm saying? this isn't AIC, It's totally different band.. The sound of the music is so much cleaner, and the style is just wrong when you are thinking "Alice in Chains." When Layne died, they should've changed the name of the band, because Layne Staley was Alice in Chains!!!!!

  • @TheKScott89

Lane wasnt the band. He was just the front man. If you go back and listen to what you're so in love with concerning the vocals of LS and the band before and after LS you will see that the same hand in hand walk comes from the singing and guitar style of Cantrell. IMO I think stayley ,with his own additions mind you, fell into the playing style of Jerry. In Lane's credit, i think he had a natural ability to get along with what was being produced by the band.

  • @TheLukilmer For me, anyway his vocals carried the style of how I viewed Alice in Chains. Also the instrumentals cleaned up with this new singer, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just preferred the grunge style of their old days. I still like the new AIC, I just strongly beleive that since the music is completely different they should change their name. Acid bubble is a great song though..

  • Riff is boss and it's only two frets on the bottom string

  • i appreciate that theyre still going, but theres no doubt that their new stuff just isnt up to standard, i mean wtf are they playing at singing about california and having scantily clad hookers in their videos, isnt that what the likes of snoop dogg and rihanna or whatever do, guess layne staley was the creative genius behind aic god rest his soul.

  • @MCshlthead Jerry Cantrell was THE creative genius behind AiC's music. They had to roll with the times as well, things change.

about Layne, him and Jerry are inseperable, Jerry is behin the genius music while Layne is probably one of the best lyricists and voices of all time. But I'm glad at what William can bring to the table and he's a talented singer and guitarist, no doubt. But as they say, it isn't Chainz without Layne.

  • @ermonski very possibly true, maybe i need to give this new stuff a bit more time, after all i didnt think much of the self titled album on first listen, but after listening a few times i put it up there with dirt any day. answer me this, did laney not play the guitar at all? for some reason i got the impression that he was the rhythm guitar player as well as singer in the group,

  • Layne Kravitz lol.. that couldn't have hit better

  • people should be glad & happy for both Jerry and AIC; their favorite band is still going, and pretty well I gotta add. As for Jerry, well you've heard the man: "California's alright". Seems that Jerry has opened a new chapter of his life in L.A. So happy for the man. Keep rockin' Love ya!

  • I am so glad they're back, I was getting tired of Greatest hit packages!!!

  • Check My Brain should be Obama's theme song

  • Comment removed

  • why is there a britney spears ad before this song?

  • 211 people need to check their brain

  • /watch?v=PBWhwVgfY90

  • I have always lover Alice in Chains but this song drives me insane with the "Oh yeah" bit. It does not need to be after every line they sing. After this song someone needs to check thier brains.

  • @MsEmberflames Ohhh yeahhh!

  • Comment removed

  • @slimshady0297 O.o I think you got the job for the Kool-aid man part.

  • @MsEmberflames LOL! I didn't even think of that.

  • @MsEmberflames I heard they were going to get the Kool-aid man to do the "Oh yeah" parts.

  • .... If I didnt know any better, I'd say Layne's not dead. He just went down to California, got a heavy tan and dyed his hair black and made it into an afro.

  • @mahavishnuxc come to think of it he was rocking a blond afro in rooster : theory marked valid

  • @mahavishnuxc Give some credit to the new singer please

  • R.I.P Layne

  • so glad they are still going

  • @BTBAMBoarder

    Nice username.

I like Between the Buried and Me.

But never mind that... so glad AIC are still playing music.

  • GOOD..

  • its a great song, but it just lacks the Layne factor :\ they are just not the same.

  • I am watching an AiC video. Frankly, I dont give a shiny shit about justin oh-no-his-voice-broke-lets-commit-suicide biebers new musical excretion. or apostrophes

  • gotta love alice in chains. i like their new album every bit as much as the old stuff. terrific album. your decision is a beautiful tune. to anyone seeking something new that carries this kind of feel, check out phoenix rising - kicking stones, right here on youtube. great new hard rock band

  • awesome

  • Wow!! I really thought this was with the original singer! I was not a big fan of Alice in Chain (I only knew and liked Man in The Box and Them Bones) until I saw them performing live on a festival called SWU here in Brazil. I thought this song was originally released with the other singer, not because this one is trying to copy him (because he is not!), but because it still sounds like Alice In Chains, even after everything that happened.

  • @MotorheadMegadeth I know! When I first heard the song I was like, wtf, I thought Layne died.

  • 15 seconds of gaylord boyband before i can watch this, I HATE YOUTUBE SO MUCH NOW!! ARRRGH!!!!

  • Somebody check my brain(♪)

  • Layne Staley is spinning.

  • Joinha se vc viu o Alice in Chains no SWU!!!

  • "OHH YEAH!!!"

  • Say what you want, but this dark and heavy - the way AIC is supposed to be. The Duvall/Layne comparison is futile... apples to oranges. Duvall definitely works for this incarnation of the band... totally agree with M3g4d37h. And Layne is still a fucking legend.

  • Duvall is a stud. They couldn't have snagged a guy with a better vibe.

  • great video

  • dont like the vid

  • @jordy45678

    Douche bag.

  • I loved the original AIC, love Layne, and it took me a while to embrace this new version of AIC. But I think I like it now. Just took a while. With all the crap out there now, this sounds better and better.

  • is it just me or does this one song kinda sound like its ment for people trippin on drugs

  • @roflsound

    ...Sure.

  • 207 people need their brain checked

  • didnt know good music was still made. Definitely gonna buy the album.

  • @jordy45678 I have it, worth it!!!!

  • WOOOO SHREDD AND RAGAN

  • I greatly dislike you Duval, but atleast you made one good song while destroying Alice In Chains

  • @GrimTeddyBear

    Destroying Alice in Chains. Riiight.
