Actually, those 'unnatural and uncomfortable' headangles help you while dancing.

The man keeping his head up provides more overview and you dance more elevated.

The woman keeping her head in that position sort of pushes her shoulderblade into the hand of the man.

Their dancing position is called a counterbalance. They touch at the hips and topple their torsos back slightly. It's a lot easier to twist and twirl around eachother in this position than it is when you're not in that position. :)

i used to be a dancer too, but I quit a while ago. However, Ballroom Dncing will always stay a passion for me. It's so awesome for me to realize I was a part of this amazing World! I, personnaly, like Standart more (i even was better in it). Latin is cool way to express your emotions, but St. is... something marvellous!=)

@Olyatka Same here. I just love dancing. Danced alot of Pro/Am back in the 1980's. I excelled in the Standard/Modern, but could dance latin also. I gave it up when traveling 20 or 40 miles to the city was too much for me. I miss it, but my husband does not know how to dance. We really do not have the money to do so and the distance is further away. He likes the standard dances. He dislikes the latin. Where did you learn to dance?

Il nome del tango dovrebbe essere più o meno "Tango Argentina" (è la colonna sonora di "Shall we dance"), non mi piace molto; infatti quando il mio maestro lo mette mi passa la voglia di fare il tango. E' troppo lento!

we have our own individual preferences, for you standard might cool but as a dancer, latin for me is the best. but they're both nice in a sense that both of latin and standard are all into my passion in dancing. thanks.

its true, alot has changed in the past seven months and i now enjloy dancing latin as much as standard. ballroom is something that will always be a passion of mine, and i hope yours too!
