find good spots to hide,take time to aim.recon the area

and think about bullet drop and the time it needs to travel a certain distance.if you go for really long range you have to aim above the head of course

what I hate about BF3 is that when a team starts losing, almost all of my squad mates change to Recon and start sniping, AND THEY'RE ALMOST ALL FORMER COD PLAYERS. Thye're trying to quickscope, no scope, 360 and other bullshit, and get around 3 kills and 15 deaths.

BFBC2 kinda had this problem and BFBC1 didn't have it at all. That is very annoying, almost as annoying as playing Rush and having your whole attacking team setting up defensive lines because they are too afraid of dying when they go to arm the objective because they might screw up thier K/D ratio if they try. Happened sometimes in BFBC2 but BF3 Rush is almost unplayable becuase of this. You either get destroyed or you destroy them, there are few games in between,and it is sad.

@ultima913 In BF3 there's has to be at least 4 attackers that push the defensive line back. If that doesn't happen, there's no way of winning. I like BF3, but I loved BFBC2.

I feel the same. Unfortunatly every game of BFBC2 I try to join now is half full (PS3) but oddly enough on both the 360 and PS3 versions of BFBC1 I can get full games with no problem.

Yeah, the lower player count does make Rush hard to play on the larger maps if people are using the support roles. It is nice how we can pick what server we are using now though, DICE's quick match had a tendency to stick you in half full games. If I knew how to build a gaming rig I would get one for this and a few other games (Diablo, Half life 3) but I'll wait till I can afford one out of box. I have no interest in learning PCs, I have more important shit to learn right now.

Bolt action: Headshot, or no shot

Semi auto: 2 shots, or no shots

Trigger spazing = no kill + death

Running around trying to quick scope = rage quit

Not utilizing spawn beacon/parachute or mav to get "out of map" = dumbass

Target enemies before shooting, use mav to snipe snipers, don't mav the entire match, if you're too far to bank shots stop trying to be a pro and go closer.

Yeah, I was disappointed about that too and I'm not a huge recon player. That was one of my favorite things about BFBC2's HC mode, along with the omission of the minimap. I also miss magnum ammo but I find it interesting that they added the minimap to HC and you show when you fire unless silenced but everyone uses silencers unless they haven't unlocked it yet so whats the point of even having the minimap?

I do reckon, recon should be used as a sniping class, not a assault class, burst/auto vs semi = semi loses most of the time, plus whats better than getting a 400m+ headshot? or a duel for the head with another sniper? i personally think sniping takes alot of skill in bf games if you want to get some good shots. plus you should be more of a hunter than a brawler imo, 5/10 spotting 2/10 manuvering 3/10 makin some heads roll, not as many kills but with avg. range shots, 300points per kill

the T-UGS (the motion sensor) emits a beep like every other second or so, the best way is to listen to it, but also it does show enemies near-by on radar, very useful if you're hiding out pickin 'em off

the best way to get better in bf3 is ofc allot of practise, but also finding a good kit and weapon that works for you :p i am best with assault on most maps.. but in open maps with lots of vehicles i like to use engineer. i also like the spawn beacon of the sniper, and even though i fail at aiming... with the M39 i can still get decent ammount of kills in a game :p

@Bositothesauci Nope, I use M39 EMR and it is a semi-auto sniper and it takes 3 shots in the chest to kill an enemy. The bolt action sniper rifles take 2 shots, in beta 1 shot in the chest. Even the last sniper rifle takes 95 damage. What a bummer :(
