I understand the group's suspicion for VOPA but what little supplies they did have was thanks to them. I don't necessarily agree with Sian just taking off so quickly, but I think "traitor" is too harsh a word to call her. And living in the bayou when your almost starved to death and outnumbered 8 to 1 by hostiles... I probably wouldn't' go with VOPA either but I can understand the reason why you'd want to.
They should make more groups(like tribes) then we could watch story of every group of colonist. Every group could have like 10 people. You watch few episodes with group A, and see them fighting with other groups for food/water........ You hate other groups at first because you don't know them, but in later episodes you get to know them better.
everybody keeps giving becka shit she doesn't deserve.. she helped on every project and stayed loyal to the end unlike sian. she's not a carpenter, but she wasn't afraid to try.
What's really interesting in both seasons is that not one colonist even thinks to mention talking to the other people they encounter. I understand the whole pack mentality thing, but the bigger the pack, the stronger you are. Instead of all that wasted energy on defense and raiding, no one even tries to negotiate and work together. With the mentality these experiments bring out, makes you wonder how society ever got beyond nomadic tribes with rudimentary laws.
@smirol90 Yeah. But with more people you have more security, more people to divide the labour and find more food. The benefits of coordinating a larger group vastly outweigh staying isolated. More bodies for labour, more brains with ideas, more life experience, more areas that can be covered for salvaging, more people to add security, etc. Food is an issue but are your chances of getting food greater in small groups constantly raiding each other or as a single unit working together?
This show is really epic.. They are already working so hard even though this is "scripted". Imagine if everything was real.. They would survive through the outbreak.
@beebeeice it's not exactly scripted. Producers are watching what the colonists are doing and then throw things at them to exploit the weaknesses. For example, Becka was going off alone every morning, so they exploited it. Amber and Micheal were walking around without mouth protection, and they paid for it.
I feel as last season's group did better. They had more security, food and such. This group was okay... But they had really useless people *ahem* Becka... Siam...

I think the militia probably found the house a long time ago,keeping it nice and clean for whenever they need another place to stay.They see everyone going down the canal,do the math and surprise them and their boat in the house.

I understand the group's suspicion for VOPA but what little supplies they did have was thanks to them. I don't necessarily agree with Sian just taking off so quickly, but I think "traitor" is too harsh a word to call her. And living in the bayou when your almost starved to death and outnumbered 8 to 1 by hostiles... I probably wouldn't' go with VOPA either but I can understand the reason why you'd want to.

They should make more groups(like tribes) then we could watch story of every group of colonist. Every group could have like 10 people. You watch few episodes with group A, and see them fighting with other groups for food/water........ You hate other groups at first because you don't know them, but in later episodes you get to know them better.

What's really interesting in both seasons is that not one colonist even thinks to mention talking to the other people they encounter. I understand the whole pack mentality thing, but the bigger the pack, the stronger you are. Instead of all that wasted energy on defense and raiding, no one even tries to negotiate and work together. With the mentality these experiments bring out, makes you wonder how society ever got beyond nomadic tribes with rudimentary laws.

@smirol90 Yeah. But with more people you have more security, more people to divide the labour and find more food. The benefits of coordinating a larger group vastly outweigh staying isolated. More bodies for labour, more brains with ideas, more life experience, more areas that can be covered for salvaging, more people to add security, etc. Food is an issue but are your chances of getting food greater in small groups constantly raiding each other or as a single unit working together?

This show is really epic.. They are already working so hard even though this is "scripted". Imagine if everything was real.. They would survive through the outbreak.

@beebeeice it's not exactly scripted. Producers are watching what the colonists are doing and then throw things at them to exploit the weaknesses. For example, Becka was going off alone every morning, so they exploited it. Amber and Micheal were walking around without mouth protection, and they paid for it.

I feel as last season's group did better. They had more security, food and such. This group was okay... But they had really useless people *ahem* Becka... Siam...

The black woman was getting raped by the Govt in the vopa suv...Just like we're getting raped by the Govt in real life...art immitating life! They need to mix it up in season 3. Have it more like a survivor show, have 2 teams of tribes. Constantly raiding,scouting and fighting each other for dwindling resources. Lots of bikinis are necessary and shower cams within both tribal camps.

I think the militia probably found the house a long time ago,keeping it nice and clean for whenever they need another place to stay.They see everyone going down the canal,do the math and surprise them and their boat in the house.
Sounds like Sian was either bound and gagged for testing or the V.O.P.A turned out to be the militia in disguise(or some other surprise)
