  • ive never heard this song before... atleast not on any youtube videos!

  • tech question please help!!!!!!!have been running HBC with gecko and all was running great until 2 weeks ago, i moved my system to another building with a diffrent wifi signal and my hbc will load and show my apps, when i try to start my gecko, the screen will go black and say looking for ip address and will lock up and will stay that way until i have to pull the power cable to re start the system, when i power back up, and go into a game and play on line with out hbc it runs fine, any ideals?

  • wii was bricked today. damn...

  • YAYNESS MY WII IS UNBRICKABLE BOOTMII boot2 IS INSTALLED W00T!!!

  • uhh how do i use my NAND backup? i have one and my wii is fully functional, i just want to go back because i messed something up...

  • and what about if my bootmii is installed as IOS? am i still able to "save my wii" with this method?

  • @Lopesmaio1 There is no known way to restore your Wii's NAND if you installed as IOS. You can only back-up on IOS. If you want the ability to restore you Wii's NAND you must use a 2006 or 2007 Wii that allows you to use Boot2.

  • anything happend to my wii help what i have to do plz answer

  • dont get how u lauch bootmii on homebrew channel

  • ugent!!!! i really need help mine got bricked fully and cant buy any modchips and i backuped my my nand on accident(thank god) but my boot mii was installed as an ios what do i do????

  • If i want to restore via bootmii I have to put in the konami code. No jokes.

  • Thank's i found all these vids about backing up the NAND but this is the first 1 about restoring it...does RestoreMii come with bootmii as boot2?

  • I installed bootmii but that never shows when i start up my wii! Help!

  • @Zico7292 do you have bootmii as boot2 or IOS?

  • @aarif917 Yep installed it the day i got bricked. i downloaded boot2 because i have system menu 4.1u and bootmii as an ios

  • @Zico7292

ok then; google search "i need bootmii files for sd card" (its the 1st result) there will be a mediafilre link in the 2nd comment

make a folder in yourr SD card called bootmii and put the 3 files in the bootmii folder.

If you have bootmii as boot2, it should load up when u power on your wii

try this, if it doesnt wokr you prob have bootmii as IOS

***if you have it as an IOS just go to HBC, press HOME then click on launch bootmii.***

IF ALL FAILS:JUST RUN THE HACKMII INSTALLER AGAIN

  • @aarif917 is this just for semi bricked wiis because mine is fully bricked. Thanks a ton for the help i appreciate it

  • @Zico7292

No problem...boot2 is 4 fully bricked and semi bricked...bootmii as IOS can restore your wii as well but u need priiloader to get past sys menu....

    1) can you tell me how you bricked your wiii

    2) do you have a NAND backup?

  • @aarif917 I fixed my wii but not with your files i fixed it with a cboot2 dol files and reinstalled all my ioses. I bricked my wii by accidenttaly installing a black system menu with ios 236 instead of 249 and ytes i did have a nand backup but never needed to use it thanks for the help though if would not of commented i would probably never have touched my wii and tryed to fix it!

  • @Zico7292

Haha congrats! Im glad i could help!...by the way il test those files i sent you today...i need to back up my NAND!

  • @Zico7292

hey im having the same prob 4 some reason...boot2 wont load even with the files...can u tell me where to find the files you used?

  • why that song?

  • can u repost link to ur wad manager because the link is dead

  • if the nand copied that bad (I mean that the 95% of the blocks were gray), HOW DOES THE WII WORkED FINE!!!!!!!!!!?????!!!!

  • how many times can you restore

  • yeah man eso es todo brickear a proposito tu consola para regresarla a la vida, yo tambien ya tengo una copia de la nand y bootmii as boot2, por si hago alguna pendejada jugando con la nand de la wii

  • i need help my cousin uninstalled the system menu and my nand back up doesnt work i have ver 3.2

  • useful video. whats tha song?

  • how did you record you TV screen?

  • Here's my situation:

A friend's Wii has been fully bricked with BootMii installed as boot2. Since I am the technical wizard in our friendship, (:S) it's up to me to restore it. We both have a Wii, but mine has a higher firmware version than hers, and my friend never made a NAND backup. I'm wondering, can I make a backup of mine [higher firmware] and then restore it to my friend's [lower firmware]? Oh, and I have BootMii installed as an iOS, mine wont allow a boot2 installation. I need help ASAP.

  • do save datas get deleted when restoring??

i wan to restore because I applied startpatch on 4.1E and my disc channl won't work anymore!! (BLACK SCREEN)

  • so the one with the green arrow is to copy the nand correct?

  • what happens if you restore and your not bricked

  • Wow, you have 0 bad block, you are lucky, I may hack my wii just because of backup feature. It may save me if nintendo sends out another update like 4.2.

  • You are lucky, I can't instal it as boot 2, so I'm stuck with preloader. I can't update it and it won't open hbc since I updated it. Now I have full memory problem so the only thing I can do is format, and instal everything from scratch. And I can't backup my save files from usb loader games for some reason.

  • WiL Bootmii work with-Out Nand Bak-Up..?

  • what if i wanted to transfer my nand back up to another wii?

  • hey i got bricked and i can get to bootmii but i can install boot2 it wont let me i have tried to install bootmii again and i can only install as an ios can you tell me what to do

  • and dude what version of wad manager is that? looks awesome

  • got a question how much space(mb's) does it take up in an sd card to back up yr wii?

  • i never saved my nand

can i have a copy of urs

(yea im a noob u wana fight about it)

  • No. But not _just_ because im mean.

    1. I am mean :P

    2. Its not _that_ easy

    3. I don't have it as i sold my wii and formatted the hard drive it was on.

  • @joesalad21

fair enugh but what do u mean by its not that easy

  • whenever you obtain a NAND dump, you are going to have to use one of bushings apps (forgot which one :/) to change the NAND key to yours and since you have never made a NAND backup, im not sure if it is possible to obtain your NAND key.

  • @joesalad21

i made 1 but i deleted it does that make a diference

  • not if you dont have the nand key

  • How do I have to modify the bootmii.ini to do the same as you?? MY bootmii.ini is: # BootMii config file # Video mode, possible settings: # NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE # VIDEO=PAL60 # Autoboot, possible settings: # SYSMENU, HBC AUTOBOOT=HBC # Autoboot delay, in seconds: # Default is 5 BOOTDELAY=5
  • im pretty sure i had mine set to:

    AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU

    BOOTDELAY=1

  • Please tell me that if I use a NAND backup from another (European) Wii, it will work too. The Wii without the system menu has no NAND backup :(

I'm trying now, as we speak.

    Bart.

  • @Dosgamert I believe Bushing created a program that lets you use another wiis NAND on your wii.

  • Look for a small app called "Betwiin". It's not 100% perfect, but at least it's something.

  • ever thought about getting rid of the music and recording some voice over to make this better?

  • YO I need help when I save bootmii i cant save as boot 2? will it still work if I save as IOS?? plz help lolz

  • @MKWiiCheat2Lose is a non-existent location for all Wii made in mid 2008 and beyond as NIntendo fixed the bug that allowed code to be written there. ISO install is all you can do.

  • So what happens if I get bricked is there a way to fix my wii??

  • You can install Priiloader. It writes itself at the front of the Wii System Menu ISO so if something is broken it'll load. If you restore via Boot Mii ISO w/ Priiloader you will have 1 shot before perm brick, as I said Priiloader is attached to the Sys Menu, so when the sys menu iso gets restored priiloader isn't there anymore. safer way on late model wii would be priiloader & Dop-ISO Mod. Than after install of ISOs you can homebrew boot to install priiloader again w/o having to reboot the wii.

  • I tried to ''test restore'' and it says that the backup is for a different Wii

  • Have to edit your nand file with exa editor, search some guide on gbarl and you'll fix it

  • joesalad21, I can start BootMii recovery but it says "Checking boot2. BootMii not found, too dangerous to continue! If your SD is corrupt or restore is interrupted, you will be unable to boot to fix it. If you're SURE you want to do this, press A+B+X+Y. Otherwise, press any key to exit"

So how do I restore the NAND now since complains about that boot2 and bootmii? Does the restore work if I continue here? I have the nand.bin and keys.bin on my SD card. How to press those buttons w/o CG contr?

  • @RedPhroggz Install it as boot2. If you try restoring it as Bootmii-IOS, it's far more dangerous then fixing it manually using tools like DOP-IOS Mod (if you can boot BootMii-IOS, you can boot homebrew, right?)

  • @TehMatoking I can only install bootmii as IOS since my wii is of the newer batch and can't install it as boot2. I fixed the problem I had and didn't need to start the recovery but I want to know if people have succeeded in restoring the NAND with Bootmii installed as IOS. I thought the warning the bootmii recovery shows refers to something like a power outage that would interrupt the recovery process etc. But have others succeeded in restoring NAND with Bootmii as IOS?

  • @RedPhroggz There is absolutely no point in restoring NAND as BootMii/IOS. If anything goes wrong during the process, you can wave your Wii goodbye.

If it fails as BootMii/boot2 you can simply restart your Wii and try again.

  • @TehMatoking There's a point because in newer wiis bootmii cannot be installed as anything else but IOS. But it does require a preloader and the HBC so that one can access bootmii in case something goes wrong. Also the bootmii recovery process needs to be uninterrupted, meaning no power outages or anything. Also I did some browsing of various wii forums and there are people who say they've successfully restored the NAND with bootmii installed as IOS.

  • @RedPhroggz If you can boot BootMii/IOS, you can fix it without NAND restore. In most cases you only have to reinstall System Menu or certain IOS using Dop-IOS MOD.

  • when you are not able to access the Boot2 you therefore need to use preloader and BootMii as an ISO. The problem there is that it's an all for one or none. Reason is that preloader attaches itself infront of the system menu ISO, so when the sys menu is corrupted preloader can load before it and to save you.

So when doing a restore you are rewriting the entire system ISO, which of course includes preloader that installed itself there, so if it fails your wii will be done for good.

  • ISO is a completely different thing but I do have priiloader installed and bootmii installed as ios now.

  • just unzip the folder inside your sd

  • Where am I supposed to place the BootMii Beta? In SD? If so, how to install it?

  • if i have bootmii as ios and priiloader can i resotre nand?

  • @JTooTehAke Well you can but if it's done using BootMii/IOS it's VERY risky. If it fails when restoring using BootMii/IOS, your Wii will most likely brick completely with zero chance of repair. BootMii/boot2 isn't affected by this as it gets run before NAND is even initialized.

  • If I'm right if you had preloader you didn't need to do all this. Just load HBC from preloader and uninstall bad Wad file.

  • Preloader is good for banner bricks but not full bricks. For instance, if you were to uninstall your system menu (as shown in the video), there is a 99% chance that your Wii won't turn back on.

  • @joesalad21 Good to know! I'm glad i have both installed!

  • brother in the Hackmii, I get that I can only install it as IOS, there is a way to install it as Boot2? to have greater security against FULL BRICKS? I have seen that the 4.2 update brings the boot2 update. I upgrade to 4.2 to have the BootMii boot2 and install?

    please help me. thanks

  • how to start bootmii after you turn the power on???

  • Intsall bootmii as bot2. ;)

  • How do you start up BootMii when you turn on the Power?

  • it comes up automatically. You wont even see the healthcare warning

  • what does that mean bootmii installed as boot2

  • I successfully backed up my NAND.

I think I bricked my wii. When I go and try to restoremii it doesn't seem to be working.damn.

This is what I get on the restore page.....

RestoreMii v0.6, NAND ID: blah blah

    Checking boot2...

BootMii found in boot2, ok to proceed.

Dump is for a different Wii

This sounds like it is telling me that this is for another wii which is impossible!

    Helpppppp!!!!

  • Reinstall the BootMii with the newest Hackmii Installer and take a new NAND backup. (the bug should have been finally squashed by now)

  • Thats because there is an error in your hack mii installer. Check the error up on google. You will find many solutions.

  • Sorry for the late response. I believe bushing may have released an app that is able to change the NAND dumps NAND ID.

  • i got error -1 wat is it?

  • In the installer or BootMii? What does it say?

  • PTTS FTW

  • GOTTA GET BOOTMI GOTTA GET BOOTMII

  • i cant believe so many people dont know this i found out about this the day after i hacked my wii and made sure to make a backup see nand backup = no risk :)

  • Hi guyz.

Does anyone know if I can do a BootMii recover using the NAND backup from another Wii console?

  • it should work just make sure its your own region

  • No, all consoles have their unique console IDs, making it impossible with BootMii Recovery.

  • yes you can but that nand needs to be edited with betwiin

  • I installed bootmii, and now I want to make a NAND backup. Do I have to get a seperate SD card to store it on, or can I just use the same card I use for eveything?

  • I've been looking for the answer to this question as well. Have you found out yet?

  • Ive Set Bootmii To AutoBoot System Menu... If Something Goes Wrong Will It still load up? Installed As Boot2

  • It should

  • Just modify the configuration file on SD on PC, so it will boot BootMii first.

  • Can I restore to a lower firmware?

  • Why would you want to do that? Either just use cios downgrader to downgrade to a lower firmware or update to 4.1 which is the exact same as 3.2 except it has SDHC support.

  • oh yea and i can delete boot.elf and private now rite

  • oh okay thanks but will be okay if i move the folder to another sd card cuz my current one is 8 mb

  • thanks and one more question what oes the folder do

  • It launches BootMii. Without the folder, BootMii will not start.

  • um so restoremii comes with bootmii rite and about the folder is it alrite to delete from the sd card

  • Yes RestoreMii is a part of BootMii. No, don't delete that folder its important.

  • oh yea and wats restoremii

  • It is used to unbrick a Wii with a NAND dump

  • um so i just put a blank sd card and bootmii should work ps how do i create a nand pss what do i do with the folder on my sd psss should i install it as boot2 or ios pssss thanks im subscribing later u were helpful to this noob

  • 1. You have to put in the SD card you installed BootMii on...

    2. You create a NAND backup with BootMii

    3. Leave the folder alone

    4. If you can install it as boot2, do it.

  • how come ur wii channel is all over the place? is this to do wid the bootmii or did u just rearrange them?

  • ...I just rearranged them

  • um i tried installing bootmii but all it did was create a folder on my sd called bootmii there is no channel????plz help

  • BootMii isnt a channel... Whenever you restart your Wii with your SD card in, BootMii pops up.

  • can i get this backup of NAND from internet.please help me guys

  • No, you use bootmii to make a copy of your wiis nand. So the only place you can get a backup of NAND is from your wii. I think every NAND file is encoded differently, and the way to decode it is hidden on your wii, so if you use someone elses you are pretty much screwed.

  • My NAND backup process went very smooth. But is it normal for my NAND backup to be around 540mb? I thoght the Wii NAND was only 512mb..?

  • The Wii NAND itself is 512mb, however the Wii NAND dumped can vary around 512-550mb

  • Alright cool, I thought I was in trouble there for a second. Thanks for the quick response and good video. I hope I never brick my Wii just because of the long dramatic process of restoring it lol.

  • If i dun have BootMii install inside my Wii, so even if brick this BootMii still cant save my Wii, right???

  • You need to have BootMii installed and a NAND backup created beforehand. If you brick without BootMii installed previously, then you're out of luck for the most part.

  • Thank a lot!!!

  • We will heve a problem if we heve a lot of unprocessed blocks??Please answer me!!!

  • No unprocessed blocks are fine.

  • I had a total bricked wii and I sent to Nintendo's SCT, delay one month and charged 70€. But now I installed bootmii and 'it's faster', only 5 minutes to repare a black brick! Bootmii is great.

  • how did you move the disk channel?

  • preloader

  • ok so after i installed homebrew using bannerbomb + hackmii installer, how do i create a Bootmii restore point?? srry im a newb to this and i don't wanna brick my wii.

  • when i backup my wii whit Bootmii it says that i have 11 bad block, if i restore it, it will be all ok?

    Also what are bad block?????

  • Yes, you can successfully restore. The Wii comes with up to 80 bad blocks, they are nothing to worry about.

  • ok, thanks.

    Now i have another problem.

    I cant run the Bootmii.

I ve turned my wii off, then i ve turned on but it wont load the Bootmii.

i ve unistalled, and reinstalled, but everything is the same, it wont load when i turn my wii on.

Can you still help me, i know that this isnt any tutorial to install Bootmii, but you have installed it on your wii, and you know how you have done everything.

    Can you help me?

  • Do you have an SD card inserted when installing/trying to run BootMii?

  • yes

  • your sd may not be compatible

  • Yeah, I tried my 8 gig SDHC and it was incompatible. You can still backup onto it, most likely, but you need another SD card to boot up Bootmii.

  • Every Wii has a few of them. They don't do anything.

  • heh I made a backup myself and i first made it on 4.0U before downgrading to 3.2U then after successfully downgrading I made a new backup from the start with bannerbomb for a full nand backup of 3.2U so happy i finally understand alot about wii in just about a few days cool stuff i must say, but the wii's is my sisters so I'm thinking of trying to get another one in the house heh preferably not a LU64-65 heh nice vid by the way

  • Nice, I did that as well (the 3.2U and 4.0U backup thing) and I would also agree with not getting an LU64+ Wii :D

  • haha nice

  • question.. im new to the whole wii midding scene, but i couldnt install bootmii as boot2, so i was wondering, if i already modded my wii, installed all the wads i use, if i dont install anymore wads, and only use the homebrew channel to launch other apps, i shouldnt ever have a brick right? (in theory at least) ive searched google, but cant find any straight answers. if anyone could help me. thanx in advance.

  • also, the only things i really use are backup launcher, gamecube backup launcher, and the usb harddrive game booter. so if i stick with those and the games already installed through wads, i should be fine right?

  • Theoretically, yes. There's no real reason for your Wii to be bricked by using those apps, it would've already if it did. (As long as Nintendo doesn't do something stupid in the next system menu, of course.)

  • i wanna ask something about my bootmii backup, when i backup my nand there was 1 bad block and when it verifies, it says some error about f_lseek failed like when it was verifiying after the half...but then it says verify complete...does that mean the backup failed?

  • Sadly, I can't answer that question. But if you connect to #BootMii on EFnet they will give you a definite answer :D

  • Hey, would you mind uploading your nand dump?

It can be used by others to unbrick their Wiis with an Infectus.

  • -_- Did you SEE the authors' comment? It says the restore has to be from the Wii it's restoring itself on.

  • No no, Boot2 is the same across ALL consoles.

This includes all regions and even the new Wiis.

Its just the stuff after boot2 that is encrypted and wont work on other Wiis.

    Look it up on Wiibrew.

  • But my NAND key is different from anyone elses so if I were to give you my nand dump and you were to try to restore it, it would give you an error about a wrong nand key...

  • No, I'm using it with an Infectus2 (external nand programmer)

  • is it possible to downgeade a wii from 4.0 by restoring a 3.2 wii using restoremii? If i put a 3.2 wii NAND on my sd card, would it work?

  • No, it has to be YOUR nand dump from the same exact Wii

  • Does BootMii install in the SD Card or Wii? Suppose I install BootMii and backup the NAND Memory. If I then remove the SD Card and put in a different SD Card, will it be like BootMii was never installed? I don't want to go through the BootMii menu everytime I turn on my Wii. I just want to install it so that I can use it unbrick my Wii just in case I ever brick it in the future.

  • hey when i was on the boot mii backup it said backup faild -1 and it dosent move.........wut do i need to do to reset it ?or to load it again?

  • My backup BootMii were a few red blocks appear. then were all green blocks.

    is that bad?

  • no that isn t bad

    that are bad blocks

    everey wii have bad blocks

  • Thanks :)

  • Can you send me that WAD Manager channel plz?

  • Oh... Nevermind.

  • Not if you can't read the description...

  • Saw that just after posting :$

  • So in my case, if my Wii's already bricked, I can't rescue it with this program?

  • No. If your Wii is bricked, you can install anything.

  • If you have a certain kind of modchip (an Infectus 2, I think), you could flash BootMii into your NAND. Otherwise you're out of luck.

  • haha my wii got bricked and i had panic xD

and then i saw this video and it helped me! thanks a lot! :DD

  • yeah this is awesome for people that dont have his wii bricked so if u have it already this will not work :P

  • Thanks for the wad manager channel

  • I can't seem to get back to the Bootmii menu. When I first installed it, and re turned on my Wii, I got the Bootmii menu. Then I returned to the Wii System Menu. I turned off then on my Wii with the SD card, and it goes straight to the System menu. How do I get back to the Bootmii screen?

  • That's sick..

  • where did u get that wad manger i like that 1 better then the others link me to it please

  • read the description...

  • o man i feel stupid

  • How long did it take you to backup the nand?

  • around 10 minutes
