if thats the case and you have graphics corruption then the graphics card is broken. Its over heated and there is something wrong now with the join to the motherboard. In the end I sold mine to someone on fleabay who knew how to fix it. HP's stance on this was that it only affected the Athlon models with Nvidia cards, not Intel therefore wouldnt fix it.

HP customer support is aweomse as they fixed my computer for free that was out of warranty. and i actually o/c the vid card soo...
