A superb machine. At the time this was a revelation in price/performance of digital synths. 16 part multi-timbral, 28 note polyphonic, a pretty good piano sound. Combined with a decent midi master keyboard such as a Cheetah Mk5, and an Atari ST, a serious studio tool for the price of a toy!
My father owned a keyboard in the mid-90's (I think it may have been a Yahama, but I am not entirely sure) and one of the rhythms, #27 "Pops 9," sounded almost identical to the 1980's song NeverEnding Story. Do you have any idea which keyboard this may have been?
@MelodeeStation Theres no difference between the 2 keyboards the PSS-795 has different coloured buttons, they both have the same specs and the same amount of sounds and rhythms.
Cool video! The PSR-790/795 have been on my "wish list" for a while, thanks for sharing this as well as your amazing collection! I didn't see your PSR-8000, or maybe I missed it? BTW, I agree with your comments on the MZ-2000 and CTK-7000, I have both and even though the MZ is 10 years older, it's still far superior. I like the CTK for it's portability, relative simplicity, and it does sound great.
@casiocollector Thank you for your comment! I do hope you can get hold of a PSS-790 someday, its a very good keyboard for its size :)
My PSR-8000 was in a bag so you couldnt see it in the video but most of my keyboards can now be seen with my new shelves and it gives me more space to move around in my room because my keyboards were all on the floor once leaning on top of one another, I moved the 8000 where my MZ2000 is right now and put it in a bag until I want to play it.
@ACCESS2B Thank you very much for your comment! I'm glad that you have enjoyed my videos and watched them, I have enjoyed your videos as well with your blogs of what you are up to on a weekly basis :)
Thanks again for watching my videos and congratulating me on my 100th video, I will still make more videos in the future so keep on the lookout.
@KeyboardKrazy49 You're very welcome. Yes I enjoy everyone of your videos and think I have seen every one that you've uploaded. I am certainly looking forward to more. I'm glad to hear that you have been enjoying my vlogs. They will continue to come and I hope soon to upload some new keyboard covers. There are 2 I want to do. I just have to find the time to learn the songs well before I upload them. Keep your videos coming.
@billybass116 Thanks for your comment! The PSR-270 was at the back of my Tyros 4 along with some other keyboards of mine so you couldnt see it so I still have it and its a nice keyboard for its features.
i love the demo sounds of 790... I've had 2 Yamaha 795, and i have buy other one... the demos is the same of the 790... best regards

What's the difference between the PSS-790 and the 795 models? Because I saw a 795 model recently and thought about getting it.
