I don't get it, people are hating so hard...I've heard my professors bitch out him too but I actually went to an auction of his.... He sold about 40 paintings....each one going from 200,000 to 700,000 ...he made millions in an hour....someone explain to me why he is such a terrible painter? I'm not defending him, just curious. Is he considered a "sell-out"?
The envious little creeps who pretend to find fault with Kinkade's work seem to react to the paintings in the same way a vampire reacts to a crucifix or the sun; these paintings neutralize their vices. God bless Thomas Kinkade.
I LOVE Thomas Kinkade! His paintings are so beautiful and peaceful. Makes me want to be in the painting right there in that moment. The 6 dislikes are from people who don't appreciate his work.
We need to let future generations enjoy Kinkade's paintings. I suggest that we wrap them in plastic bags and deposit them in landfills and garbage dumps. That way when archaeologists of the distant future excavate 21st century middens they will find Kinkade's paintings and then will display them to the dumbfounded astonishment of our distant descendants.
I love Kinkade's paintings very much... my eyes just wonder around from corner-to-corner ... they give me peaceful moments. @ cidickey1 ... I appreciate ya Kinkade's slideshow and ya choosen music just goes with it :-)
although what i said is true, this guy is a Jesus freak so I know longer give a shit about him. i would kill to paint like him though... so i could step it up a notch so it isn't as "kitsch" as you all say it to be.
unless you are an artist then you really have no fucking idea how hard it is to paint images like this. it takes skill and patience and those are two things that plenty of people today have barely little of in the first place.
I couldn't paint like him because I would feel like a fag. I couldn't impress any hot art chicks, just old ladies. That would suck. I bet most women artists can paint more like a man than that douche bag. He is probably a closet homo and all his gayness is coming out in his paintings.
I despise Kincaid's work. It is everything I hate in art. I had to spend 4 months color correcting scans of his crap for a screen-saver and it was truly depressing to have to study the details of his soul sucking imagination. But I love all of the comments posted here! 5 Stars for the comments!!
I love TK's work, such beautiful pieces. My fave too are the wooded cottages, seems like a world far away far from all the negativity of the world. Just peaceful and serene.
my favorite paintings of his are the cottages in the forests. i dunno why, it looks so peaceful. my favorite painting is the one on 3:11, again i dunno why. does anyone know the name of it?
Ohh man, words are of no use, my hate towards the crap that this man does, i really dunno how i hate more, Basquiat Or Kinkade, both mediocre in their own field.
I just love Thomas Kinkade's work!! It's so beautiful. Have you guys ever seen the print with the light house that has a light bulb instaled inside the picture? My grandma got that one from my mom for Christmas and it is so cool looking!
I completely agree, his work is a staggering and revolutionary execution of tone and composition which has an unsurpassed resemblance to shit. Its importance as manure for future landscape artists is momentous.
Very pedistrian compositions. Too much contrast in his tones and too much "paint out of the tube" colors. His application of the paint is nice - but overall Kincade's art is boring.
i am a lay woman, never understood Pablo Picaso's art. Infact, I dont even understan Thomas Kindade's art. But the beauty of his art is that u dont need to understand it. Your soul gets it just fine.
I love meeting poeple who fork out a fortune for these insipid, kitsch pieces of crap. I find people's tastelesness rather fascinating - you know when you enter someone's home and it's littered with 'precious memories' figurines? Hilarious. Not to mentioin Kinkade himself is an incredibly unpleasant little shit who's primary interests lie with cold, hard cash. And the song was awful. I hope you're mother liked the video, though - it's a lovely sentiment.
they may be pretty, but they ain't art by any stretch of the imagination. I also object to any one who exploits religion to sell their pretty chrismas cards. kinkade copies eduard cortez.
Everything is learned from someone or something. Nothing springs from a vacuum. The only original and genuine artists are the ones that invented paintbrushes and canvasses. Everyone else that follows is a student and that includes our beloved cortez, genius though he his.
It's so funny that people think he's such a big deal. He lives in the San Jose area and I see him all the time. He's just a regular dude. Everyone knows him around here.
I have been to a thomas kinkade gallery. I like the nice serene settings.
Yeah it may not be real life, but it's nice in any case.
No he won't be considered in the frame of the greatest. Everybody likes different things. I also have been to real museums some I liked and some things I didn't.
I went to one and they had one thing called styrofoam man which was an inch high that looked like it was made out of a styrofoam plate cut out.
he isn't the biggest selling artist unless you only go by christmas cards and very expensive cheap reproductions, as far as original art goes, he is not even in the top 100 . most of his work is stenciled and silkscreen repro's
You are right. In Hitler's paintings, people, if they appeared at all, were just rather blurry little figures. Almost like they were being used in an attempt to humanize the painting with a pretense of creating an empathy with the viewer.
OK, the painting at 0:35 actually has some merit. The rest of it makes me feel really sick, it's like I have been eating nothing but icing sugar for days.
The chimney of every house painted by Thomas Kinkade belches smoke, regardless of season, like a Pittsburgh steel mill. In summer, the interiors would be about 250 degrees fahrenheit. Nostalgia lies.
And the smoke always go straight up in the air, apparently there is no wind, ever! I'm shocked to read that some people would even like to live in a landscape like that. Looks like Hell itself to me!
I agree epstone1. I'll take a monet or vangogh any day before I'd ever even remotely consider a kincaid! I guess I just find his stuff too syrupy sweet, cutesy and banal. he looks like he paints with cake frosting! there are no humans in his paintings, and they're otherwise just so barren. to me they lack genuine warmth, and appeal to home decorators who see his paintings as a decoration, and not as art in itself.he calls himself "painter of light" but I tend to refer to him as painter of crap!
Wow , this is absolutely a beautiful way to express the heart of myself, let alone help express our heavenly fathers desire to be our prayer. God bless, and may HE and WE see it at Godspeed for fruition.
Lovely tribute to Mr. Kinkade.I'm not familiar with Miss Tumes but her song is perfect for your photo montage. Also, the ending rolling credits are great too -- classy script and color. All in all a pleasant presentation. Thanks for sharing on You Tube.
