@Abrin19 No, the cucumber does not get mushy. It is cold--not frozen. The fork "bruises" small places around the edge, so that lessens the life of the sliced cucumber, but this is for using within a day or two of making it.
next time, put a towel under the cutting board so that it won't slip or move while you cut ( or run the fork on the cucumber) :) thx for the vid, nice tip :)
Might want to rinse it before cutting to rinse off the debris and next time try bruising it with the cucumber horizontal and resting on a damp cloth, easier angles to deal and reduced slip with the damp cloth on top of the board. Oh yes, for the dim witted: remove the cloth before cutting and use a sharp knife or mandolin.
i take the same idea of using the fork but instead of round slices i make diagonal cuts into the cucumber to make them look like flower leaves and decorate around a rose tomatoe.....10/10 on your garnish

oh we did this before for our vegetable mix and we just ate it. We nvr thought of it as a garnish. Thx for the idea
