  • "Pretty good areodynamics..."...No way...

  • For being sponsored by the maker of world class battery charging systems, that battery seemed awful weak during startup.

  • Comment removed

  • @Drivinfast247 I would not be surprised if it had a small, lightweight battery at the front, sacrificing CCA and Ah for weight savings.

It did start so the battery is big enough.

  • @Drivinfast247 Rotary engines always start slow it does nothing to do with the battery.

  • @Drivinfast247 any built motor is going to start like that lol

  • Thats pretty smart! Why the rads inside the car though?

  • @PorkEyes because beetle is original air cooled, so it doesnt has a tipical plase to put the radiator. and when you build a beetle that would be used to drive as fast as it can you won´t disturb the pretty good airodynamics of it and find a place where the rad could do his job without disturbing the air flow.LOL

  • @nirsi19 well that radiator is going to make the inside of that car fuxing hott lol

  • The motors cool but the best part of the car is the Custom Yellow paint job on the exhaust pipe.... I totally dig your build for real, I had a 67 beetle and my neighbor had a rotary beetle and that thing was off the hook fun to drive. Keep up the good work.

  • you should install a 6v starter (and run it on 12v) , they crank much faster than the 12v unit... it sounds like its having alittle trouble starting the rotary with the unit in there now...

    cool build though

  • hey man your bug it's not a realy bug. it's a water cooler mmmmmmmmmmmm no man very bad

  • What ECU/wiring setup are you running? Thanks :) Great bug!

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet sound man

  • that is sweet!

  • a set of eye lids would be alright, nice sound, it must haul arse!?

  • ah the sound of that wankel makes me happy

  • wait nevermind, im stupid. its about 11 seconds into the vid. very very nice car and engine

  • where is the radiator mounted?

  • Look between 0:10 and 0:15. Basically takes up the whole picture.

  • the man posted a thought and all the flamers emerge saying all the classic stuff. "ur gay" "ur retarded"

How about a little more maturity, people.

  • engine mazda ??? O.O

  • very nice bug! I love the rotary motor, sounds very nice! ;)

  • I don't think that is rotary engine....

  • Are you retarded?

  • you are retarded....why me??:S

  • You said you didnt think that was a rotary >_>

  • u thought wrong

  • it is definitely a rotary.. look at the intake manifold...

  • I don't know it just doesn't sound like rotary!!!!

  • then you dont know jack about rotary engines and should probably stop posting about things that you just dont know about...

  • what ever duud xD I posted comet.....my thinking....didn't insult anyone sooo.....

  • Yes it does, it just sounds like one with no exhaust system :)

  • GHETTO

  • Why does it sound like That?

    its awesome tho

  • because its a rotary engine dude

  • Because it's rotary.

  • why do u have the intercooler inside with no air ducts to it ? and the turbo intake aswell , you could do with some tubes man

  • Those sound so weird!!!

  • sounds angry

  • wow thats a engine

  • very very very niceee

  • i know a guy who put a wankel engine en a vw just like this 1, he did the job in his garage!

  • I have one question. How much do these motors go for?

  • That's naughty as phuck, man. Killer Bug.

  • what ecu controller is that. i have 912 porsche with a 13bturbo II that needs help.

  • This car would rape anything on the eighth mile.

  • how the hell the turbo is gonna suck the air? in reverse?? you could add a 2" steel pipe all and a air filter, that would be interesting...

  • why would you let the fukin passanger drive?

  • Stupid man

  • hahahah thanks for that!

  • It doesn't matter what side the person's on, the driver is the one with the wheel LOL

  • to badletty, I think you could use an early bus transmission, they are opposite a bug because they use gear reduction boxes. I know if I use a bus trans for my bug I have to flip the ring gears, you may be able to flip the gears in a beetle trans too.

  • quick question, how would u get air to the radiator and the intercooler? or is that a fan u turn on at the beggining?

  • Its a drag use only, its okay for a short trip, but on the new set up, the intercooler has moved outside

  • hey howmuch did it cost to put a rota in tht dub?

  • FUCK YEAH!

  • did you use a V drive and flip the axle to compensate for the difference in rotation?

  • how do you hook up the motor to trans if vw motor spins the other way

  • I don't think it does, kennedy engineering sells a kit that just bolts the engine up.

  • badletty.... you can change the crownwheel (I think they call it ring gear in the US) over to the other side on any Beetle 'box to make it run the opposite way.

This is a legacy of the Kubelwagen and the split-screen Type2, both of which used reduction gears on the half-axle ends, so requiring the driveshafts to go the opposite way to the wheels.
