  • The American goverment is a 1000 times worse than the Nazi's ever were.

  • The music is simply sublime. That's all that matters

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

    HEIL OF BRASIL!

  • Sieg heil 14/88

Heil Hitler te recordaremos eternamente !!

  • "These people in this orchestra were all nazis." What the fuck?! No.

  • At least these people were the kind of: if we are going to fuck with the world were going to take over the big ones all at once not only attacking third world countries oneat once in order to steal their oil and claim they did it for the world freedom, also they were a lot into cultural matters, the US army generals and politics only have fun at homosexual bruthels, watching jersey shore and listening to pop musicians before going to rehab

  • These musicians were not in any way evil but just trying to survive in a society over which they had no control. They are ALL superior to any (c)rap and hip hop 'musicians' of today! Furtwangler helped many Jewish musicians to escape Germany and was absolved after the war. Unlike (c)rappers and pop scum he was a REAL musician!

  • @mrbeatnikjd Bravo!!! You are RIGHT!!!

  • Bravo!!! Bravo!!! Bravo!!!

  • What a bunch of posers these nazis are. If they would have felt the music and Beethoven's grand vision, they would have torn of their uniforms and burned the nazi flag.

  • Best music ever composed played for worst garbage ever walked our earth.

I AM GLAD WE SLAVS DESTROYED HITLER.

LONG LIVE THE MEMORY OF RED ARMY.

  • Vote "thumbs up" if you think the name "Furtwangler" makes you think "Fart Wrangler" or "Fart Knocker".

  • This conductor can do a good job, but he move and shake himself as if he is having an epileptic seizure.. .

As if was not enough Beethoven's music being used by these dirty nazis, this brain sick director conducts like a retarded...

TERRIBLE VIDEO, THE ONLY GOOD THING IS BEETHOVEN MUSIC .

  • @videocrazier I see you don't know the story of director Furtwangler... read it before calling him nazi

  • @videocrazier you are talking about one of the greatest directors of the 20th century as a "brain sick director" (conductor?) conducting like he is retarded

  • It is really disturbing to read all these white supremacy and Neo-Nazi comments on this video. And I can assure all of the primitive LITTLE idiots making these comments that they would have made Furtwängler very, very sad.

  • How totalitarian...Look closely at this video, it is the future of America. The Right will rule.

  • HITLER RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YEAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 NAZI RULES!!!!!!!!!!!! THAY JUST WANTED A BETTER WORLD!!! AN D NOW THE WORLD IS A FUCKING AMERICAN BULLSHIT.. HITLER FOREVER!!!!

  • isnt this the music that ends a clockwork orange? stanley was such a classic music aficionado.

  • this orchestra and the maestro was amazing!!!!!

  • @Josep489 gracias !!

  • Seig Heil muy Fuhrer!!!

  • @botelhoization First of all, Go to Hell, but if you must spread your neo-Nazi comments, get them right, Deficente! What you wanted to write was:

Sieg Heil, mein Führer, not "Seig Heil muy Fuhrer". What kind of a Neanderthal are you? (Rhetorical question)

Youtube should edit comments such as yours and it is a disgrace that they appear on a page concerning Furtwängler, one of the greatest and most effective opponents of this regime.

  • @VivaRenata And look, it's even got two thumbs up... Nazi skinheads seem to be all over this, and other, Nazi vids. The fact remains that Furtwängler was not a Nazi, and continued to be appreciated many years after the end of the Second World War (even though jews around the world refused to play with him).

  • Of couse, the nazis had to put their flag on the stage.....

  • At least nazis had a taste for music, unlike the peoples of today.

  • @Nuker1337 You are clueless. Music used as propoganda. YOU are an asshole.

  • @rumpwrestler How is "the ode to joy", a poem about the unity of mankind, anything about propaganda? You've probably sung a translated version of it in elementary school. YOU are an asshole, not I.

  • @rumpwrestler Nice misspelling BTW.

  • how many of them do think are going to be hung a couple of years from now?

  • 14/88.

  • A symphony about the brotherhood of man being played to Nazi's? Beethoven would be ashamed an disgusted.

  • 1:12 omg!

  • vi como 10000 semifusas siendo tocadas en 5 segundos

    omg!

i see near 10000 "semifusas" being played in 5 seconds .... fuck!

  • @hgchjk Oh my. I'm afraid you'll be hearing a bit more over time.

  • Amaziiing !!!!

  • ¡¡ Fuhrer beethoven !!! ¡¡¡ sieg heil !!!

  • One of the coolest videos ever!

  • sounds less like a concert and more like a jamboree, he must have been conducting with more anger than passion...not being critical of course

  • The modernism epidemic also stems from the lowest common denominator egalitarianism.

  • As bad as Nazi Germany was, at least they had valid, actual music. Unlike the so-called kitsch limited scale garbage we call "music" today (complete with vulgar lyrics, as if repetitive loops of oversaturated bass wasn't vulgar enough)

We need to do something about the dysgenic effect on culture. The modern "artist" Dadaist, and modern "architects" are to blame. We need to do something about boring squares and bring back civilized architecture (e.g.: Cotswold, Victorian, Federalist, etc)

  • @jaymthegenius this music predates Nazi Germany by 150 years

  • @jaymthegenius Your writing here sounds like pure nazi bullshit. The music of the third reich like the other arts: horrific garbage. And by the way, this tempo at the coda of the 9th is ridiculous.

  • @rumpwrestler Furtwängler was the master of the ninth symphony, even Karajan asked him for advice on how to conduct it better. Furtwängler varied his tempi quite a bit. I enjoy it a lot.

  • @rumpwrestler OK. These people in this orchestra were all nazis. I accept that. I compare them with you Amerians now. These people were not thieves and murderers. Look at you own country, American. Look at the recent financial crisis. The cunning and evil here is far greater than any evil these musicians did. Your crass society that fawns all over the likes of American Idol, Mariah Carey and Lindsay Lohan is hollow and soulless. Give me these people from the Berlin Philharmonic any day.

  • @SugarTomAppleRoger Hollow alters for an engineered mind. In a way, I feel sorrow for them. Manipulated and pulled through the gauntlet for all to see. Just for some vehicles or Coach purses.

  • @jaymthegenius Beware of absolute statements. The notion that a complicated thing can be all-bad is to be distrusted just as well as the notion that such a thing can be all-good. It is a gray world full of bias that would see it in black and white, for that is more comfortable and convenient than truth.

  • @jaymthegenius I think you are correct the music today is somewhat... flawed but I can't help but think your talking about rap or hip-hop and I must mention that they are different it's not as if classical music evolved into that. If you want to go listen to a classical piece there are still concerts out there offering that kind of music. What your doing a common fault in the human race is looking down on those different its a mistake we seem not to learn from.

  • @jaymthegenius And what would be an example of that? As far as im conserned alot of todays music is amazing, even with loops and your so called "vulgar" language. Im sorry, but if the a four letter word ruins a song for you then im not surprised you don't like todays music. And no im not talking about justien beiber, miley cryus, etc etc. These are not musicains! Please look at the artists of todays times not the idoits.

  • @jaymthegenius i will agree with ihavenonameeva. he/she is right just like man is a product of evolution, so is todays music a product of evolution same in architecture etc. and please don't take bieber and those asses as an example take real artists as examples.

  • @jaymthegenius Yes. Emphatically, hell yes!!

  • @jaymthegenius I'm sorry, but Hitler himself would have embraced everything you said except your opening eight words. I'm not calling you a Nazi, I'm just pointing out how his message attracted people of more noble persuasions than his own. The whole anti-artist backlash business in the early nineties (regarding the NEA) revealed this all too clearly. With minor changes Hitler's anti-modern art rants would have been embraced by the anti-NEA Conservatives. Wake up people!

  • @jaymthegenius I listen to all types of music but i act against the once who listen to new age music, music is not a thing where someone has to decide what is good and what is not, good music is music you like.

  • While a lack of Americans would have helped Hitler's cause, it would not have been a guarantee for everything. A thousand years is quite long and it is likely that successors might have broken it all up.

It would even have been possible that his empire would have collapsed in his own lifetime, one can't know.

  • This is in reply to gotfatherg.

  • wow!!! inkreible excelso magistral.

  • 3 years later, the beast was celebrating his last birthday ,

watching this video on a Deutsche Grammophone PC prototype and singing a karaoke track of My Way, Elvies's style !!

Under the tons of concrete of his Berliner bunker !!

  • Something tells me these folks never read the lyrics, lol :)

  • @TheMarkmatt

    What a stupid remark!hahaha

  • I'm transcribing this song

  • The person who posted this erased the moment when Wilhelm clean's his hand... that's not an historic crieteria and pretty manipulated.

  • I doubt these Nazi understand the message Beethovan convey via his Symphony 9.

  • @bjou520

    may I ask why?

  • No sane person believing that Jews are vermins, should be wiped out of Europe and terminated can rejoice the notion that we are all brothers and sisters in this world.

  • You don't like Beethovan? Which musicians from 18th to 19 th century are not xenophobic and chauvinistic? We can't ban all the music we don't like. Few music of that era is not at all xenophobic and chauvinistic and without bias and prejudice. Most have good intentions and ideas. I find it unpleasant and futile to focus on or to be consumed by the negatives. I like music but am not an expert. I like the lyrics of 9th, but am not exnophobic or chaunistic, hoping you are not suggesting I am.

  • Long live Germany.

  • when it plays football...not when started and lost WWI and WWII

    Arbeit macht uns frei !!

  • there's stauffenberg and himmler

  • They are omitting the rest of the footage where you can clearly see Wilhelm wiping his hand, he was the greatest...

  • Comment removed

  • Lol true dictatorial fascist statement, I think it was quite complicated for him to say NO. We're nobodies to judge people like him in such difficult situation.

  • jajaja No ma!!!!

  • That concert was nothing, but an answer to Hitler's endless hate; you know "Alle Menschen werden Brüde" (All men will become brothers), not only the Arians or Germans, etc. ALL men, (as well included Jews, Slavs). That is Beethoven.

  • furtwangler's beethoven is excellent, but i also like barenboim's

  • Es mejor Karajan

  • GREAT MUSIC...LOUSY AUDIENCE!!!

  • It's been more than a Century from the Holocaust but still all swastikas and nazi figures symbolize crime and hate as its worst, and in some ways I can understand how paradoxical Beethoven may sound in this context of the filmed document when even The Führer had some artistic habilities in painting. As Schiller wrote, AGAINST THE STUPIDITY THE GODS THEMSELVES FIGHT IN VAIN.

  • A century = 100 years

    2009 - 1943 = 66 years

    66 < 100

  • wrong, much less than a century. There are still 100s of MILLIONS of people around who were there. It wasn't that long ago.

  • Obviously it's my mistake on Holocaust numbers 1940's-2000 so I do apologize for it, also if I was not so clear when commented about Hitler's hobby as paintor, because it seems that only arts can have the great power to gather good with bad people as in this case did Beethoven's music, to remind us we are plain and simple mortal human beings, after all.

  • How ironic, these butchers, these monsters, these most inhumane creatures sit in the audience listening to sublime music that sings of brotherhood, unity, love....everything they tried to destroy outside of their own narrow, damned doomed world.

  • I have to say that they are not the most inhumane creatures in the world. Also the music that sings of Brotherhood and unity is what the Germans were at that time.I would have to say a good example of one of the most evil creatures would be Stalin and the countries, who had talked of freeing nations and the people under the Nazi regime, sat by and watched Stalin march in and kill, rape, steal, and genocide. That is a real example of a monster.

  • Just ruins the beauty of his music.

  • @aosjimzaw Furtwängler is better than toscanini, especially at this fine piece.

  • Watch short film: Al Gore is Adolph Hitler .....

This short film is banned in some countries......

    Rate, Comment, Subscribe...

  • Infact he did! he had to shake hands with the devil! This was near the end of the war

  • Furtwangler looks like he wants to wash his hands.

  • Why is there a Swashidika in the corner?

  • Because this was played to celebrate Hitler's Birthday on April's 20th

  • i have heard of many versions of Beethoven 9.

i think it is the best version ever. you can download the full version including all five movements from Emule. (Specially, the second movment, so brilliant. )i was deeply shocked when i firtsly listen.

the second best one is Karajan, BPO, 1963

the third best one is Berstain, BPO, 1989

PS, it is just my opinion.

  • No offense, but it doesn't look like it from here.

  • I love the 9th symphony, but this isn't the best video I've seen- kinda grainy because it's old

  • and it's rushed. the presto is done prestissimo, and the prestissimo is a big smudge. The musicians do not look happy.

  • so right- the musicians look like "I'm just doing this because my mom told me to!!!"

  • Mom being Hitler.

  • What's up with you?!

  • how odd to see that the nazis in the audience had been dispensing violence

  • Good luck Mus10 students!

  • Happy Birthday Hitler, you cunt.

  • Now, compared to George W. Bush, who do you think was smarter!

    He he he heeeeee!

  • Obviously Hitler was a genius, everybody recognizes that, but he was a crazy genius.

  • Actually, he was an idiot. He didn't learn from history's mistakes (ie: lets go try and siege russia), and he could have had the brits at Dunkirk, but he said "my fight isn't with them"

Fail, and retarded, plus he had the wonderful habit of shooting people that made mistakes, even the slighted, ie: Rommel, one of his best generals. the guy was a fucking idiot

  • ok, that's an interesting point of view, although when trendy web words like "fail" and "retarded" are used, it doesn't add to the credibility, but I'll just ignore that.

Then maybe when people say he was a genius, it was more in terms of getting elected and gaining control, etc. (genius on the evil side, of course)

  • "genius on the evil side", dont watch too much Star Wars. If someone is a genius, he is a genius, on no side

  • Actually, I'm not referring to anything Star Wars-ian. People have been saying this since 1945. And I do believe "political genius" (i.e. in getting elected, staying in power) is a possible from of genius.

  • i was talking about "genius on the evil side". There is no side, good or evil. Just genius. I am not talking only about A.Hitler but generally.

Sorry for my English, I am Greek.

  • well I prefer saying evil genius than just genius in his case, or else it sounds like I admire him.

  • you can admire him for some of his actions and hate him for some others.

e.g. I hate kemal attaturk because he killed many Greeks and because he was our enemy, but I admire him because he was a leader, a brave man and he loved his country. Its not bad to admire an enemy. Germans let free the greek soldiers in a battle because they fought bravelly. They were enemies, but they admired them.

  • I understand, nobody is 100% pure evil, I am sure he did some good things, especially before he became a dictator, but I'm not particularly interested in knowing them, given the other stuff he did.

  • The person Furtwangler shakes hands with doesn't look like Hitler. More like Goebbels if you ask me.

  • Maybe, it is Goebbels.

  • it is Goebbels - and afterward, Furtwangler wiped his hand off with a cloth, famously

  • woah ive never heard the ending played that fast

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Ironic that THIS symphony was played for nazis

  • This symphony is legendary. Just amazing. Thanks for posting.

  • Let it be said again on this comment thread that Furtwangler wipes his hand after shaking hands with Joseph Goebbels.

  • "as queer as a clockwork orange"

  • This shows that even the penultimate of what is civilized does not guarantee against the worst evils. The answer is not some sort of twisted sociological "progress" (this was the heart of the Nazi theory), but faith in and submission to God (which the Church often does not do).

  • Well spoken.

  • The Holocaust was an abomination, but this is still fuckin' great music.

  • Holocaust was a big the greatest hoax of all history!

  • Your command of the English language is the great hoax of all history.

  • Holocaust does not exist!!!! It was an invention of the jewry like you and your fellows!!That's all and now go back in your kibbutz!!!

  • No. "Palestinian" does not exist, Balki. Go take some remedial english classes and come back and try to debate this.

  • I do not know english but I know history much better than you jew.Du bist schwein!!!!Correct sir?lol lolGo working in your kibbutz planting your grapefruit and drinking the blood of the christian!!Du bist schwein!!!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! YES, SIR! You're quite the scholar!!!! And the world is actually flat!! Go to hell!

  • The Hell is your place and all the jew like you wil go there ah ah ah ah!!

JUDEN RAUSS!!"You're quite the scholar" what you mean schwein!!!!!!Begone!!To your kibbutz!!!!!From when your fellows jews killed Jesus Christ your place, remember,is the HELL!!!Go there schwein!!!!
