  • If wearing a hat is an issue, do what I did, just cut away everything from your baseball cap and leave the headband and shade. Or just buy one of those insanely lame golf headband shade thingies. Problem solved :) I bought mine mainly for flight sims (it is absolutely essential if you're flying ww2 fighters or Black Shark or similar) but I never race without it either. Especially if you're into drifting, this is a must. You'll mostly be looking out side windows, and for that it's pure gold.

  • works also great in falcon 4.0 allied force

    gr. jacosimons

  • Trackir is simply great, the only downside i can come to think of is the lack of support from the game developers. Sure it`s fine for sim games, but it would be nice with support for typical FPS games. Try it with ARMA II and you will se how immersive trackir is with FPS games.

  • Works amazing for IL2 Sturmovik

  • Why did the steering wheel move by itself at 6:29?!

  • @ElegyForTheMasses flight simulator recognizes the g25 steering wheel. FSX sends force feedback to the wheel when turning so it turns the wheel.

  • Trackir have a horrible setting , for have an idea of how should the setting work check on youtube Hands Speed View trackir.

  • Have you thought of any other ways besides wearing a Hat or Headset? Personally, in NY it gets quite hot during the summer, and it might be a deal-breaker.. I was going to order a Track IR 5 today, but no-go until I can figure out an easier way to mount it.

  • Wii remote+sensor bar=trackIR

  • @mubd1234 THAZT CORRECT :P

  • I think this is dumb tho, with one monitor, but like I said, this would be perfect if you had 3 monitors setup. :-)

  • @1981z28camaro Then what would the damn point be anymore? The movement isn't ment to be 1:1 of the movement it simulates anyway ffs...

  • This would be great to use with something like Eyefinity, but it would be even better to use "Nvidia 3D Vision", with Nvidia's version of Eyefinity called "NVIDIA® Surround" then it would be super immersive.

and the Buttkicker would also be nice too :-)

  • WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE?

Free track is just webcam + led or IR lights + free software. like 5-15$ max, no $200

  • Trackir 5 operates at 100 fps though.

  • It works WAY better. I had a freetrack. It sucks. there is a reason every flight simmer swears by TrackIR. Head to any hardcore flight sim site. Every one either has TrackIR or is getting one.

  • Part 2 And the distance to the monitor the shortest possible . If u don't want to feel like the exorcist Check my videos of trackir to understand , note i dont get a penny from trackir but i recommended ass the steering wheel. i wish every boby use one for racing so race can be more decent .

  • Trackir have a set up or profile for the games horrible, but after learning to use it i was impress of the potential, and i discover thad is important as the steering wheel, because u need it for filing the car and RACE CLEAN. The problem is :u have to set it "VERY" SENSITIVE wen u look straight to the end frame of the display u have to view the max panning, NOTE wen on real live u drive and see to the side u verily move the head, and is all u need. A big display is very important to.par 1

  • for those on a tight budget, freetrack is a cheap but powerful alternative. ;)

  • Does it have a fast response time?

  • Very fast, almost immediate.

TrakIR using infrared camera with 150 frames per second, and separate processor to calculate position of your head, and then give it to your PC by USB.

  • ah, thanks for pointing that out :)

then it's on my have-to-buy list

  • TrackIR is awesome, been using it for years. If you haven't used it for your PC gaming you are missing out big time. I love how people bag on stuff they have no idea about. Ignorant.

  • read my last 2 comments.

  • Strange, I would have thought more people would comment on this review.

  • his voice is so funny lol

  • @jordyGFC

Why, I don't see anything wrong or funny?

  • @jordyGFC he sounds like Vince Offer in the shamwow commercials

  • how much did they pay you for this review

  • lol.. nothing

  • @simracingtonight

Shaun are you still using the TrackIR? Because I've never seen this device in your videos...

  • lol commercial

  • seen it yesterday! lets chat

lovin this video!! leave me a comment a3

  • you can buy small dots that you can stick on your face so you dont have to wear a hat :P

  • This only works with the old TrackIR 3 that used a 2 dof (degrees of freedom) setting, if you want the full 6 dof you need the headset-thing, or the cap...

I have a TrackIR 4 and agree totally with the review, it's nice in race games, but it's the BEST piece of hardware a flight-simmer could ever wish for.

  • @Evildeluxe lol, I'd rather wear a hat, than have to feel stickers on my face.. but I just got the TrackClip Pro and modded a webcam, and that works just fine, of course I have to wear headphones for it to work, EVEN if I listen to the sound over my speakers, lol

  • Thanks shaun I feel better the track ir 3 plus vector with LFS, i dunno why but the feeling its better, at GTR2 I feel a liitle bit confused and my times are fastest withouth the track ir

  • Thanks for the great review. It convinced me to purchase the TrackIR4 for my simracing (LFS and Richard Burns Rally mainly) and I haven't regretted it one bit.

  • Great info from the SRT guys :)
