I've played, beaten and platinumed this game and through it all the experience is like playing a title in it's beta stage prior to being released and seems more of a fit during the Dreamcast era of gaming.
game is complete shit. I feel im a gamer who wants the whole package good graphics, good story, good weapons all which this game is doesn't produce. and a western game with a guy with a spanish sounding accent?
I didn't play this game but it looks pretty cool, regardless of the sucking graphics, you can shoot, use instinct(from twilight princess xd), ride motorbikes, climb up structures and there's steampunk, yeah!
and the reason i say that is bc of the clunky controls it makes the character seem slow unlike duke nukem forever or darksiders i'm also playing some roms to get my 8-bit and 16-bit gaming up again looking for a system but so far no luck damn ioffer!!!
plus at the same time i'm trying to go back through darksiders bc i got to a point where there was an autosave and well i wasn't smart when i manually saved the game bc i did it right before the last boss and i was getting low on souls and the autosave put me in an area where i got nothing to heal with or refill my wrath with and the door behind me is shut tight and i have to defeat a lot of enemies and i keep dying plus i'm also playing bulletstorm when i feel like it.
ya i gotta say i wanted to like this game but certain parts wouldn't load right and in my opinion the gameplay wasn't good enough to keep me hooked unlike eat lead:the return of matt hazard ya certain parts of it didn't load right when i played it at first but the gameplay was good enough to make me want to reset the game or system and keep going u know what i mean and i'm enjoying the hell out of duke nukem forever just taking my time since i can't use xbox live.

This was sold as a vertical shooter, which cannot be fucking done on consoles because vertical shooters require tall screen configurations and I don't wanna turn my TV on its side.
I remember playing a modification for UT2004 that was also set in a steampunk universe and also called Damnation. I suppose it's like Red Orchestra or Killing Floor then, except that damnation sucks especially when it's not free...

Assassin's Creed + Gears of War + Red Dead Redemption - all the things that made those games good + a lower budget = Damnation...
Also, they should've have copied Assassin's Creed's eagle vision in this game...It just made the game lose more credibility than what it doesnt have...

If you know what steampunk is, its a lot more elegant than this, steampunk is what the world would be like if everything remained analog instead of digital, and steam engines were developed further, instead of being replaced with internal combustion engines. This looks more cyberpunk or grunge to me.

In short. The gameplay i generic. The controls are all right but for some of the platforming they have you do odd button combinations rather than have you just point in the direction you want to go. (That's why we have the analog stick). The story has many plot holes and doesn't make sense even for the setting and art style they go with. There are no interesting characters or any development between them. They voice acting is VERY bland and many of the voices don't fit the characters. Half assed

If you know what steampunk is, its a lot more elegant than this, steampunk is what the world would be like if everything remained analog instead of digital, and steam engines were developed further, instead of being replaced with internal combustion engines. This looks more cyberpunk or grunge to me.

By far the worst bit about this game is the fucking annoying guy how constantly talks from the speaker about the miners working hard or going on about boomtown! On that level i played it with the volume off no fucking joke!

this game actually is really good ya the story is messed up but its great like for example the entire environment you can interact with you can climb up a telephone pole in the middle of the map

In short. The gameplay i generic. The controls are all right but for some of the platforming they have you do odd button combinations rather than have you just point in the direction you want to go. (That's why we have the analog stick). The story has many plot holes and doesn't make sense even for the setting and art style they go with. There are no interesting characters or any development between them. They voice acting is VERY bland and many of the voices don't fit the characters. Half assed
