i agree with madea, people are like trees, the leaves and branches aren't ones u can trust or be an open book with, but the roots are real friends. I'm not some bitter hag who says that love doesn't exist, love is for suckers, or all men are jerks etc. But I do realize that if something is for me, it'll come in due time. In the meantime, I've no business going to clubs or parties looking for something I didn't lose.
@OuttaEgypt I agree! If there's one thing I learned from my own life is not to depend on people for vital needs like love and affection. I turn to God for that! Humans have proven themselves limited and flawed. Now, I forgive them for being imperfect but I know for sure "You are not obligated nor expected to show me goodness!" When I am able to love myself just fine, needing others for that no longer happens!!!
Can I just say that I watched this video a dozen times before I broke up with my boyfriend. It gave me the confidence to realize he wasn't the one, and helped me to make it the most tolerable low drama break up either of us had ever had. We were able to just... let each other go!

I remember the night I attended this play and I heard this advice. My God, thank you Jesus it was a blessing. I couldn't hold it in. I felt like I wanted to run and tell somebody. Humor is always a good tool for working out your challenges. I love how Madea just says it like it is. I cracked up when she said "...if you don't know how to be by yourself, watcha you gonna do with someone else!" Yes divorce is painful. Guess what, in order for your children to be the best, you have to be the best. So get your mind, body and spirit in that "happy place" and you will be able to help your children heal through the divorce.
this helped me alot when people who i thought were my friend's left me,shunned me, and treated me like crap last year after all i did for them, i started taking madeas advice. this year i became stronger than ever and i became so care free and there are some of them trying to say hi to me. i'm like forget it! i had to let it go. after i let them go i became happier with myself and it was their loss since they wanted to come back into my life after all thwey did.

It's been over a year since I posted this video up and I'm so glad that it's helped so many ppl. A friend from work actually shared this video with me and I had some trouble trying to rip it and upload it here on youtube but it was worth it. There's certain people that you need to let go and move on from, but just remember to hold onto those roots!

When I first saw this I was going through a really hard time with someone I truly love...even tho it hurt at the time I could not help still feeling the pain and hurt. But trust me after time it gets better and you can move on. I did not believe this at the time but its true...God really is trying to show you the signs but u have to let go.

It's been over a year since I posted this video up and I'm so glad that it's helped so many ppl. A friend from work actually shared this video with me and I had some trouble trying to rip it and upload it here on youtube but it was worth it. There's certain people that you need to let go and move on from, but just remember to hold onto those roots!

When I first saw this I was going through a really hard time with someone I truly love...even tho it hurt at the time I could not help still feeling the pain and hurt. But trust me after time it gets better and you can move on. I did not believe this at the time but its true...God really is trying to show you the signs but u have to let go.

This was shared with me when I was really struggling with some "friends" and Madea gave me the strength to "let folks go". It hurt and it was hard, but I feel so much better now. I started to feel sad today about it, but I watched this again and it reminded me why I let go in the first place. Goodbye, leaves.

Yes, but the flip side of this is, by and by, if you train yourself to let go too much, then when it counts you won't be able to hold on to anything at all.

No. The flip side is balance. She's talking about, a certain kind of person who takes from people and do not give; those who only cares about themselves in excess. Deep down inside each of know when to let go. We only miss it when we are afraid and in denial.

yea I was in denial and I god showed me the signs for the longest but i choose to ignore but he came to a point where i couldnt ignore anymore and i had to let go even tho it hurt so bad and still do a lil but i love myself as a person and i know i got friends that do care for me now...i had to let go and let god and god brought in 3 tru friends to replace that one fake friend...i thank god for my situation

I get such inspiration from him. whenever I'm mad at the world and no one appreciates me or see's the best in me, I can watch his plays and know my value will be seen in due time and my blessings. and even if I never know if anyone appreciates me and I have no blessings to be seen in the near future, I'll be closer to God. and me.
