Not bad, I'd use some of those move in different scenarios, but if I had to choose I'd go for the heart or lung move, I to an a student trying to learn as much of the art of the knife
i wouldnt waste .1sec cuting the arm Id just go for the neck over n over like 30times in 3 sec kinda like the black navysealguy on deadliest warrior, I cut some 1s head off in the same amount of time that army guy spend going for his arm, I also agree with halflifeamd you dont wana stab twords your self, thats asking for trouble, If I wana get the heart or lungs Id go between the neck n shoulder like in the first fight in the movie troy or Id go through the armpit. i also have no training so...
@whiteboypatrickkelly I don't think he means to do them in that order, those are just three different types of strikes you can use in that type of situation, then we was explaining what each one does. I don't think any military trained knife fighting class would teach that arm takeaway as the first move from behind an opponent. The point is to kill quickly and quietly.
We had a staff sgt. go to malaysia for jungle tracking school when he got back most of us adopted the Ghurka Kukri as a sentry silencer opting for massive ligatures (chop him in the neck) vs the S.O.P. sentry romovals . I am looking for a combat knife but all I see is bells and whistles and namebrands being sold ny people who don't impress me as warriors. Anyone who has real world cqb experience have any prefferances?
@soho131313 I like my mtech tanto style its pretty badass google mtech tactical fighting knife mt520 and should be the 1st image and 1st for shoping I like the tanto style cause you get greatchoping slashing and you can still stab away and from tip to ass its 1 solid peace of steal unlike alot of other knifes that the steal ends half way through the handel, not nocking the ka bar though dont get me rong its a good knife I just realy like that mtech
@Itztehcuhtli ya I fought in prison with a filed down touth brush and melted down and twisted waterbottels lol but a peace of steal wrapped in a white peace of cloth is what I preffer
@wleit omg a troll grammar nazi on youtube! you must be the first! grats you corected some 1s spellin that droped out of jr high!!!! woot you must feel like 1 hell of man, bet your dicks 3 feet long too
that saw forearm doest work anymore. There is a new arm twist, to actually stick the aggresor with his own knife. It is the same move you use when the aggressor uses knife to neck from behind. Lift grab, twist into apponent. You circle into the direction the aggressor is coming from.
A few ways I'd prefer: Stab straight to the back of the neck, severing the connection of the brain to the body- instant rag doll..... Reverse grip, pull sling to choke, sever the connecting tissue to the fingers- then stab to neck... Cover mouth, stab lungs, hold for 10 seconds, drowns in own blood- no noise; cant scream.
OR .. you could grab his mouth and stab him in the base of his neck paralyzing him . leaving him unable to pull the trigger or retaliate . you sever his spine, he feels no pain and you stay alive.
Once you're in that particular position and using a knife, it would seem to me that stealth is your goal. I feel that anything other than going right for the jugular with the hand over the mouth is a waste of time. There is no guarantee that you are going to sever tendons or be able to drive the blade into a small area at the base of the skull. This is probably one of the only times that I would use reverse grip however.
This is not the way to take out a sentry with a knife unless u definitely want him to have time to alert anyone within shouting range. If u have a stiletto or thinner double edged blade similar to a Fairbairn-Sykes or Fairbairn-Applegate design u would try to go into the base of the skull via the spinal column. K-bar/Bowie-ish, go through the side of the skull near the ear. Anything else, focus on the carotid & trachea, severing both. Know your skull & brain anatomy, attack arteries not veins.
Well, really what you're talking about here is sentry removal, not knife fighting so much. In my experience, heart, lung, chest and even throat stabbings or slashing is not always the fast or quietest way to take someone out. I can understand severing tendons in the arm thus neutralizing any immediate threat, the next move, however, should have been to stick that knife through the back or side of the skull. Back of the skull is better, right into the Occipital nerve severing brain from body.
@mendesana Obviously he asked to be taught how to CQB with a knife and as a result used as the example. I asked an armed forces member about a takedown, he showed my by using me. That's how it works. You wanna learn you end up getting manhandled. If you pay attention you learn exactly where you are grabbed, how, and hopefully take it all in and are able to replicate the move on the first attempt.
Not really, they told us to do it, they wouldn't listen to the boring stuff so we dressed it up Hollywood style, I figured most everyone would have figured it out but some think that's real life. In the US military knife fighting is one of those "less is more" techniques but good luck teaching that to the Iraqis.
I served...different countries military then yours..We were taught, unless you have no choice, to never stab towards your self. Always stab away from your body. To much of a chance during the struggle to stab yourself by mistake. It's best, in that position, to stab from the back. Also you don't have to deal with failing arms. You can also use the persons weight to bring him on the blade..Also for a heart stab best is behind just under the shoulder blade... just my ..02$
@HalfLifeAMD I know right, thats what I was thinking, especially trying to penetrate the breast bone for a heart stab, with that piss poor grip he has? He woulda sliced his fingers off, if that wouldve been for real. Hes better of shooting I think
@jsj297 I agree and it's also best to shoot. One thing with knife fights, IMO, there is no real winner. Both people can get fucked up really good. About the only way to win is to be the survivor..and thats not much of a win if you suffered perminant damage from severed tendons and nerves (lose use of limbs etc)
@HalfLifeAMD From what I have been taught so far, it depends on an offensive move or defensive move. If you are defending against then there will be a few struggles. If you are on an offensive move move then coming up from the rear then it really just matters what your most comfortable with ( assuming you've taken out a target with your knife before ). I'm sure the not stabbing towards your self rule is more for safety until your comfortable with a technique of your choice.
@nodmessenger I mentioned "unless you have no choice" Never stab towards yourself. I agree, you do develop your own style. That's what training is for, on dummies. To get that experience from in theater..holy crap! Not my perfered place to OJT. With knife fighting, even if you are able to sneak up on the target on an offensive attack..Once the target realizes it's "on"..there is going to be a huge struggle till the target bleeds out. Personally, i would rather shoot.
@HalfLifeAMD none the less i do agree with you, i will say his slash on the "persons" arm i would say is completely useless because that still gives him time to shout and struggle. We were taught to give our person a straight gouge, twist, and retract into the there back entering the kidney.
@nodmessenger hand across the mouth is also useless too..that is going to be a bite. I agree with what you are taught, that would work. Instead of a twist, try to leaver up and down side to side (move the handle like a shifter on a std trans of a car) real quick action keeping the blade in. If you pull the blade out, there may not be a chance to set the blade in good again during the struggle. That would have a better chance at cutting up and letting the organs bleed out quicker.
@HalfLifeAMD exactly, and i guess it depends the type of knife you use, i guess yes if you use a flat edge tanto blade then moving the handle up and down what do good at cutting up insides, but with a serrated edge kbar for example, after the twist when you retract; you tear the organs out because of the serrated edge. its all human anatomy
I don't even know what it is, it could be. It's not that we didn't want the Iraqis to progress. We just wanted to be able to handle them if they flipped out. So we adapted the curriculim.
Not bad, I'd use some of those move in different scenarios, but if I had to choose I'd go for the heart or lung move, I to an a student trying to learn as much of the art of the knife
