  • awesome!

  • hot dog is the only food that available not like other country...so sad been american

  • these cops nowadays useless always put more efforts to arrest vendors, but do not have the same efforts arrest criminals. it is a sad thing to see. they disgrace the new york city.

  • fajna laska

  • Great show, but one glaring omission, Chinatown.

  • STUPID NEW YORK CITY VENDOR CONTROLS, THEY SOUND LIKE THEY ARE THE GANGSTERS ON THE STREET WITH A LICENSE TO TELL VENDORS WHAT TO DO, AND THEY SOUND LIKE THEY NEVER HAVE BEEN ATE ANY STREET FOOD BEFORE. TELL THOSE BAD VENDOR CONTROL PEOPLE TO SUCK A HOT DOG OR A BIG HOT SAUSAGE .

  • @DQFXPRESS If people want to eat then go to the fast food outlets the city hall provides i.e. starbucks, Subway, kfc

I am a retired cop and do not like to arrest criminal citizens

  • King of Falafel is the Best. For years we've known that in Astoria and the Taxi / Black Car Community have known that too. The food is fresh, portions are huge and the price is beyond reasonable!!! And they guys are friendly and nice and they remember what you like and how you like it. I'm so so happy for them!!

  • Very nice documentary give this girl more stories to report on she's great !!!

  • Interesting documentary on street vendors in NYC...this one's Brooklyn and Queens; the first one was Manhattan.

  • can the last few seconds of the vid, be anymore dramatic?? LOL

  • al quada operatives could buy up street vendors stalls , poison all the food with something that takes 2 or 3 days to kill u, and u have more dead than 10 Sep11 attacks.

  • @beswick1111 lets gets paranoiac, they can put bombs inside dogs and cats and make them explode, we should arrest all the dogs and cats just in case, hahahahahaha............very nice paranoia

  • @mathamore i was actually being serious, dont arrest the dogs arrest th people that put bombs in them, seriously what is stopping muslim terrorists from buying up fast food stalls and poisioning them with slow release deadly poison? nothing, it hasent happened cos al quada is too stoopid to think of it, too busy fucking camels probably

  • @beswick1111 lol

  • ps.. i hate people that "pretend to be nice

  • @Ethix127 The King of Falafel does not "pretend" to be nice. I've been going to them for years and have seen them in action without cameras rolling. When you speak, you should know what you're speaking about.

  • lol vendors lookin 4 QUICK money.. ..IDIOTS!.. i wouldnt buy from that crap

  • Many street vendors are illegal immigrants.

  • i appreciate a lot of al jazeera's coverage on various subjects, but this episode is egregiously slanted with a perspective portray the U.S. as being overtly hostile to its mostly muslim vendors. although there is always some hassle to street vendors, its policies are the most liberal of any major us city. its a shame that al-jazeera sacrificed better coverage of north america's most diverse and abounding street food culture to make a political point.

  • Falafel is THE best.

  • So many regulations to sell food.

    So much for capitalism.

  • @RZetlin NYC has nearly 9 million people all living on top of each other. I know it sounds fascist, but having rules matters. Otherwise the streets quickly descend into chaos like they did in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

  • mmmm, falafel.

  • In addition, you have all kinds of stupid rules for doing business.

  • @1234567loading Maybe it seems that way because this show gave 95% of it's focus to hot dogs... They did horrible coverage of the city.

Seeing what an awful job they did here, makes me doubt the legitamacy of past episodes (Jerusalem, Nairobi...)

  • i LOVE that place especially in wintertime they have the coolest shit there

  • lol who fights over the internet

  • The laws are all BANKER LAWS. New york suck BANKER BALLS... "we want to pay tax" = we want to be financial slave to the rich pigs. Dame i remember when i was dumb like the people.

  • I should remind folks that "Banker" is a neologism for "Jew."

  • Me too Love LOVE new york.

  • I hope her news director made her put in that tagline. The whole episode was great up until then.

  • 5 stars

  • so what. Vancouver is no New York. No one can beat New York City in its daily shimmer. Vancouver can go to hell.

  • Wow, you certainly put me into my place.

  • Stay in Vancouver, don't come out

  • Dude, read the fucking message. I'm didn't criticize New York City or street vendors. I was saying that I'M PISSED THAT WE DON'T HAVE THE SAME WHERE I LIVE, THAT'S ALL. I'M NOT AGAINST NEW YORK. I wish I had the opportunity to grab a quick snack from a street vendor so I could save a few bucks. I just wanted to say that here on YouTube. Sorry I offended you. I've eaten at street stalls in Japan, Hong Kong and more and like street food. FUCKING HELL I'M SORRY FOR LIKING YOUR CULTURE!

  • lmao haha

  • great one!!!

  • "I am the King of Waffle!" how cool is that?!

  • he say "I am the king of Falafel" not waffel :S

  • al jazeera run same type of reporting on london street food

and comments were full racial hatred

in usa as an immigrant, i find it most welcoming

if you work hard n can do ur job there a place fr u in the usa

god bless america the best country in the world

n offcourse NYC is the best city of the world

  • That was rather interesting. I always wondered how life was as a vendor. I want to get some food from the Falafel King soon :3. Good reporting.

  • Excellent video. Thank you!

  • Why the fuck did I watch this on an empty stomach?

  • im heading to New York tomorrow morning for a 4 day vacation. Looks like Falafel King got a new customer!!

  • Great Bit of Detailed Reporting!!!!

What happened to this type of trporting in the USA??

Unfortunately, It's Gone!!! because most Americans have the attention span of a 3-year old at a circus and the desire for indepth understanding equal to that of a mule.

  • Falafel King kicks ass!

  • Nevermind guys, found him on the internet. 30th Street and Broadway. Sorry.

  • in manhattan? which corner of 30th & bwy? nw? sw? se? ne?

  • no not in manhatan in Assotia Queens

  • oh cool. now i just have to make it there before you close at 7pm

  • Someone please tell me where Falafel King is located. I live in Astoria and am hungry...

  • Falafel KING!!!

  • 1) the ending sounded so fake. she didn't have to go all emo on us lol :)

    2) its not true what that ecuadorian guy said. mexican vedors do sell in manhatten (right next to the empire state building too lol). The "opposition" doesn't want mexican vedors (many who dont understand english) selling burritos next to the Bank of America building :|

    3) 7:24. Im sure ladies want a man who wants to cook lol. Much respect for that dude.

    4) I hope Maria can make it. She just wants to sell food. <3

  • Keep your hands washed, street vendors. Wear gloves like the Falafel King. He was the only one I saw.

  • The Falafel King is certainly a character too!!

  • What a great report! thanks for showing a good side of my beloved city.

  • He really is the king of falafel. yum yum. and the halal carts are awesome too. now I want some.

  • Another great report. Keep up the excellent work Al Jazeera!

  • Very nice story.
