these cops nowadays useless always put more efforts to arrest vendors, but do not have the same efforts arrest criminals. it is a sad thing to see. they disgrace the new york city.
STUPID NEW YORK CITY VENDOR CONTROLS, THEY SOUND LIKE THEY ARE THE GANGSTERS ON THE STREET WITH A LICENSE TO TELL VENDORS WHAT TO DO, AND THEY SOUND LIKE THEY NEVER HAVE BEEN ATE ANY STREET FOOD BEFORE. TELL THOSE BAD VENDOR CONTROL PEOPLE TO SUCK A HOT DOG OR A BIG HOT SAUSAGE .
King of Falafel is the Best. For years we've known that in Astoria and the Taxi / Black Car Community have known that too. The food is fresh, portions are huge and the price is beyond reasonable!!! And they guys are friendly and nice and they remember what you like and how you like it. I'm so so happy for them!!

al quada operatives could buy up street vendors stalls , poison all the food with something that takes 2 or 3 days to kill u, and u have more dead than 10 Sep11 attacks.
@beswick1111 lets gets paranoiac, they can put bombs inside dogs and cats and make them explode, we should arrest all the dogs and cats just in case, hahahahahaha............very nice paranoia
@mathamore i was actually being serious, dont arrest the dogs arrest th people that put bombs in them, seriously what is stopping muslim terrorists from buying up fast food stalls and poisioning them with slow release deadly poison? nothing, it hasent happened cos al quada is too stoopid to think of it, too busy fucking camels probably
@Ethix127 The King of Falafel does not "pretend" to be nice. I've been going to them for years and have seen them in action without cameras rolling. When you speak, you should know what you're speaking about.
i appreciate a lot of al jazeera's coverage on various subjects, but this episode is egregiously slanted with a perspective portray the U.S. as being overtly hostile to its mostly muslim vendors. although there is always some hassle to street vendors, its policies are the most liberal of any major us city. its a shame that al-jazeera sacrificed better coverage of north america's most diverse and abounding street food culture to make a political point.
@RZetlin NYC has nearly 9 million people all living on top of each other. I know it sounds fascist, but having rules matters. Otherwise the streets quickly descend into chaos like they did in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The laws are all BANKER LAWS. New york suck BANKER BALLS... "we want to pay tax" = we want to be financial slave to the rich pigs. Dame i remember when i was dumb like the people.

Imagine a mobile hot dog stand parked on the street and doing business! Where I'm from that sort of business is frowned upon and not allowed at all. There's very few street vendors in Vancouver. Our city hall thinks these type of businesses steal commerce from "legitimate" bricks and mortar restaurants/eateries. I'll bet the city has no more than 6 or 7 street food vendors if that! Other communities are the same: no food vendors allowed.
Dude, read the fucking message. I'm didn't criticize New York City or street vendors. I was saying that I'M PISSED THAT WE DON'T HAVE THE SAME WHERE I LIVE, THAT'S ALL. I'M NOT AGAINST NEW YORK. I wish I had the opportunity to grab a quick snack from a street vendor so I could save a few bucks. I just wanted to say that here on YouTube. Sorry I offended you. I've eaten at street stalls in Japan, Hong Kong and more and like street food. FUCKING HELL I'M SORRY FOR LIKING YOUR CULTURE!
What happened to this type of trporting in the USA??
Unfortunately, It's Gone!!! because most Americans have the attention span of a 3-year old at a circus and the desire for indepth understanding equal to that of a mule.
1) the ending sounded so fake. she didn't have to go all emo on us lol :)
2) its not true what that ecuadorian guy said. mexican vedors do sell in manhatten (right next to the empire state building too lol). The "opposition" doesn't want mexican vedors (many who dont understand english) selling burritos next to the Bank of America building :|
3) 7:24. Im sure ladies want a man who wants to cook lol. Much respect for that dude.
4) I hope Maria can make it. She just wants to sell food. <3

Yes, NYC is shit. Its so expensive there. Pack with so much people. Hot and dirty in Summer.
danpt2000 2 years ago
In addition, you have all kinds of stupid rules for doing business.
danpt2000 2 years ago
@1234567loading Maybe it seems that way because this show gave 95% of it's focus to hot dogs... They did horrible coverage of the city.
Seeing what an awful job they did here, makes me doubt the legitamacy of past episodes (Jerusalem, Nairobi...)
