  • i remember this song fondly as an utter utter tune. Ahead of its time.

  • I miss them =/ such a good song *-*

  • 5 people can smile

    good song

  • manque l'intro...

  • Maaan I saw these with Staind around 9 years ago or something with my dad! Was the best birthday present ever :D

Many years later... they are still amazing!

  • voice like daniel johns of silverchair... the same O_O

  • great

hey hey hey souds silverchair oh fuck i luv it more

    yeah

  • Such an underrated musician, please come back Terrey!

  • Wow this seems so old now,

  • cuuuunt smiiiiiiile ! a cuuuuunt smiiiiiiile

  • @chainsawchav hahahah xD

    i love this song.

  • Just realised they lifted the "can't smile" quote from the 1973 Lindsay Anderson film, "O Lucky Man!". Awesome cultural reference.

  • not l0:00ng enough! again!

  • Reminds me of the good old days. :)

  • I had the album and it was sick and i saw them play with staind in ireland also sick!

  • ça me rappelle quand j'avais 15 ans

  • classic song, saw them back in the day with HIFH

  • i reckon if this was re-released today, it would make no.1. Cool tune, and something completely different from the usual dros you get in the charts

  • I was definitely the ONLY person in the States who was listening to these guys in 2003. I still played them constantly on my college radio show at 6AM...hoping maybe someone would hear. Sigh.

  • i had a friend who was really into these, i wasnt that big on them but remember liking this song.

  • back when mtv 2 used to play good music

  • i think the same thing every day man,erm now its just shitty indie now, when it was all metal yeh man, that was back in 2001 and 2004

  • Synths and sound effects make Terry's talented song writing sound cluttered and overproduced.

Septembre were the better version apart from all the gay ballads.

    Fears are shit.

  • @edammade i think the synths and effects on the vocals make it more interesting to the ear. however i think a stripped down acoustic version would be interesting.

  • These guys are like one of my favorite bands of all time...whenever I talk about them people are like "Huh?...What?...Who?". I love the fact that I was given the chance to find them. I tip my hat to you fellas...wherever you are!

  • too complex? im guessing you like music to be spoon fed to you? classic! i saw them twice

  • A little too complex

  • I can't smile

  • drum n bass

  • What an amazing band!! Can't believe they're not together anymore!

  • great, great, great...!

when i hear it, i see myslef 10 years ago and i can't stop smiling :D.

  • They were amazing.

Too sad they're not together anymore :-(

  • love this!! seen them live! awesome!

  • When I first heard Vex Red I thought this was the singer of Stabbing Westward. Than I found out he had gone to The Dreaming.

  • is this what emotional hardcore was MEANT to be?

  • They split like 4 years ago. I used to know Keith, I still have their original demo tape which they sent to Ross Robinson.

  • Since this came out, British rock has gone down the fucking shitter. Music is a waterd dwn version of the libertines. Bands like arctic monkeys, franz Ferdinand, kooks, razorlight, wombats and those fucking awful wankers the Kaiser chiefs. All these bands are is a barrel of T4 on the beach indie SHITE, I fucking hate it. 10 years ago, indie was cool it meant stone roses, Oasis and suede. Now its wankers like steve jones and jo wiley telling ME what to listen to I wish to fuck it was 1976 or 1989

  • maybe you should stick to what you like then instead of attempting to insult artists who are loved by a massive portion of the population k :)

and if you think they are shit, check out there pay checks ;)

  • i do stick to what i like, i.e vex red (this song at least).

and to be honest i have no qualms about insulting the fore mentioned bands, its my honest belief that rock and roll music in britain has been in a slump since around the time that cant smile got regular airplay. those bands are to blame, the music is bland, plinky plonk bollocks.

and yes, they have big paychecks but so did the cheeky girls. you honestly think that rock today is good compared to the past?

  • @babscabs1987 you want to hear a brilliant english rock band then listen to 22-20s

  • @cphammersmad Just listened to them. They are shit like every one else.

    Long live Cable!

    Get your figurine souvenirrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • first time hearing them, they seem abit like silverchair meets deftones, no?

  • Good song

  • i saw this band years ago at the cockpit in leeds. fucking awesome

  • I've been looking for this band for years ;] the drummer is the best energetic and charismatic person I've ever seen :D hmmm yami :*

  • one of the songs of the decade for me, so powerful!!!!

  • I miss Vex Red :(!

You should check out "Purusa - Aftermath" you will not regret it!

    Much love

  • "Vert" it's a very good song, it's not in youtube :(

  • ive got the demo on cd somewhere...need to dig it out..its kinda different.

  • As great as short was theri life as band. What a loss.

  • Sounds like the guy from Silverchair...not a bad thing.

  • cant agree more with ya, the Old Silverchair was awesome =)

  • Some songs on the 4th album are the best they ever done, "Too much..." and "Tuna in the brine". the last album was rubbish, I'll admit that

  • To be honest, I think all the Silverchair is cool...

on my opinion, the best period was the: Neon Ballroom-Diorama period ;)

  • Daniel Johns... I know they're both amazing

  • Love it

  • I remember seeing these guys at Reading Festival, they were so good. Emotive set, nice to see it really mean something to a local band

  • Awesome song, and whats even better about it is they are from my home town Aldershot, England! :-)

  • one of the greatest songs ever!!

  • If you want to be with me,

Theres a price you'll have to pay,

Im a genie in a bottle,

You gota rub me the right way.

  • they used to alwasy do that live there own lil joke :)

  • I remember lovin this song and watchin mtv2 for hours waiting for it to play. The surprising thing is, a matured cynic (Who has set aside childish things like Korn and Linkin Park) like me still likes this song... The dudes Right bout mtv2 being awesome (from a nostalgic POV) in the early 00's. Then it went all Artic Monkees on our asses... That is all....

  • god i remember that mtv2 used to be sweet for bands like this and other decent bands then it went all indie shite !!

  • he looks so much like daniel johns of silverchair. his style, voice and looks, and he has the same guitar.

    that an amazing compliment ;)

    x

  • i'm listing a cd by these guys on ebay uk tonight, they are awesome and unique, shame about the split

  • I bought this fxxking amazing album....why they split???

I luv this album so much~~~

  • Even the old layout of MTV 2 has nostalgic value, then NME took over.

  • i agree i hate nme

  • i can't smile without a reason.

what is there to smile about?

    just smile

    Why?

    LOL

i was always cringe at that part. Thee album is amazing though. Untitled is classic.

  • excellent album

  • these guys did one of my favourite albums ever, never saw them till this vid ,diddnt think theyd look this placeboie though ,maybe they just got the wrong person as there stylist for this vid ,they still rock though

  • These guys were from Aldershot, mile or so down the road...never met them though, oddly.

  • they only made an album? and in which bands do they militate now?

  • great song..see them some years ago in Italy!!

  • why the fuck did they split up? they were so damn great. the world needs more of this.

  • They split up due to being dropped by the record label. You should check out Terry Abbots new band, Septembre.

  • Brilliant band Brilliant Song, i love the song called "Nine" by them

  • Awesome song, i remember seeing them at Guildford Civic Hall, Big Day In i think it was called, they played with Reuben.... Awesome band, wish they were still about

  • Does anyone know why the Vex Red song 'Tired' didn't appear on their one and only album?

  • chune chuff chune! lege hammer has been smacked on this band..... LEGEND!!!

  • i love this song...

peccato che questo gruppo si sia sciolto prima di farsi conoscere da tutti....

  • LOVE this song. It's a shame not many people know of this band.

  • its a shame that just a brilliant song gets such a boring video

  • The band only released one album, do you think they had the money for an expensive video for one of their first singles?

  • top song, off a great album. i was lucky enough to see them at leeds festival before they split.... thats how i discovered them.... awesome

  • Great song, shame that this is a cut of it. The album version is much longer.

  • sooooooooo annoyed i heard of these a couple of months after they split... easy one of my favourite bands still all from one album!!

  • These guys awesome, it's a shame they split but Septembre rock too! :D

  • Such a shame they split :(

  • ah great song from a band that never really made it off the starting line unfortunately! Reminds of great days long gone!

  • itch is on daily motion

  • Fucking love the lyrics to this

  • if anyone had the video for 'itch', that'd be awesome.

  • itch has been put up :)

  • another band overlooked with real talent, just shows what a shit state the music biz is in concerning young uk bands!

  • i went to see these when i was 11/12,it was my first gig and i fuckin loved it. shit that they broke up.

    is this there only album?

  • Yeah, they only did the one before their label dropped them. Most of the core members were in a band called Septembre after, but I haven't heard anything about them for a while so I'm guessing they broke up too.

  • fuck man i remember this song! amazing! amazing album too! oh and Whatupwidat, one of the band members was in a car accident last year and has been recouperating (?) since :) terry has had a side project called toulese or something like that.

  • Terry went and formed Septembre and now has his solo thing going on too called "Toluene". His music is a bit addictive!

Ben is now the drummer in a band called Malpractice!

  • oh, sorry.if it wasnt obvious..daniel johns is from silverchair..and hes god and genuine in front of all these guys.

    terry's music is nice, though

  • dont missunderstand me, i like his projects (no that innovative though) but this guy tries to rip off daniel johns sooo much....

the voice, the look, moves, clothes...you can almost see daniel in this video from diorama era.

  • I've always loved Vex Red as you can tell. I created this name for my email when they first came out and it's just stuck. Love them so much! Check out Terry Abbots latest offering in the form of the band Spetembre.

  • Silverchair voice over a great rocktronica

  • fucking awsum i love vex red got the cd i prefer untitled myself but hey every1 has tastes i dont decline dat. Though i do find their songs quite depressing but i dont honistly cear much still blady awsum! :D

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, why no ITCH video in the list anymore.. :(

    miss them too

  • what a great band. virgin records sucked balls, the fault of their break up was of virgin.

  • Aww, I miss Vex Red. What a great band. <3

  • I havent seen this video for years! These used to be my favourite band! Still love them!
