I have a Hummer H2, and they always make that sound on a start-up where it has recently been damp or raining. It's the belt on the engine squeaking from the moisture, that's all it is.

The reason other vehicles don't make this noise is because the belt on an H2 is just so obnoxiously large it makes a louder sound.

im not much of a gm fan cuz too many problems. we had constant problems with 1. and we only had 2 im my life time. other was ok but it had a camaro v6 in it. it was a 96 park avenue. but it still had a few problems. I love ford the most!
