Led Zeppelin is the progenitors of metal, if they weren't metal,they were a blues/metal hybrid that came very close. All metal traces its legacy to them so I consider them a metal band. Judas Priest and Iron maiden are both bands from, wait for it "the New wave of British Heavy Metal". It may be an inconveniant, but they're metal, as is this.
