The GT-R is a pretty nice car and all that, but still kind of a blasphemy to the real Skyline. While the stock engine is a real powerhouse, it just does not have the song of an RB26DETT. I would imagine if they had stuck much closer to the R34 body style, the car might have gained a bit wider acceptance, but to me, it's just not a Skyline. The numbers on it are impressive, though. And the transmission seems to be very well suited for the average person who wants a daily driver and a kickass car.

The speed limiter detects entering a Japanese track. I believe GTRs for other markets will have to be without the limiters.

A great video by the way. Real life experience with the gearbox. I heard it was said to be clunky - but no such thing in this video.

I think the car is smart enough to detect when it is no longer on Japanese roads and electronically deactivates its limiter, at least that is what happened on Top Gear. Jeremy took the car to the track and it delimited its self.

The GTRs' limiter got moved to 155mph for the US spec. A lil tune to the ECU will remove it so its all good.
