Thanks for this video, I made a few beads myself. I bought the beads at Michaels (this is an art store in US and Canada). As I am originally from England I was half expecting you to call it plasticine ;) which they don't know in Canada (where I now live).

Anyway, being a single parent of two little ones this video inspired me to a weekend of art and crafts with the kids making beads and other things. Thanks for the inspiration.

What a fantastic ambassador for all Dreadkind! One thing I like to do with fimo clay beads is make them super thick. That way after I've baked them I can carve them down with different patterns. It's really easy to do and you get really creative. Great tip on applying stuff with glue! Never thought of that (:

I am so disappointed. . I went to Jo Ann's Fabric & Crafts and got like 8 colors of oven bake clay.... yeah, what I ended up with looked like crap. The clay was hard until you touched it then it like melted.. I couldn't get the clay bead off the marker... so I tried wrapping it with wax paper then pulling that off-still looked like shit.. I give up!

I've tried this all day! I just can't get the clay to stay where it's supposed to be! The second I palm roll it to get a sausage, it gets too hot, and I can't control it. When i roll it, it turns into a pancake instead of what you've just showed. When I finally get it in the thickness i want, it's not long enough, and when I get the right length, it has turned into one of those pancakes again :c HELP!

it is a common misconception that fimo is toxic. really the only thing you want to be concerned about when making clay ear jewelry is that your ears are completely healed. clay is very porous as is your skin. So never stretch with fimo and never wear them in unhealed ears, if you do your ear can attach to the clay and be severely ripped. Healed ears are fine, however I would not wear them longterm.
