I like it, it has potential, test it on earth first. Look at all of the toys coming out lately, Hovering flying toys that a kid can fly, with stability, maybe could be adapted to explore other worlds. the toy industry really test the abilities to the limits. Tinkerers seem to have an amazing ability to come up with practical solutions to problems. It seems that most collage professionals are all taught to think inside the box, and can only see narrow visions because of their training to do so.

Not sure if it's serious, but it looks like it might be a good idea. Only problem I see with it is that if it came to a steep hill, would it be able to control it's descent on that hill, or would it simply end up rolling to the bottom?
