Panther is a Panzer!!! Panzerwagen in german means armored car (a.k.a = tank). There are many types of panzers, like the Panzer IV, the Tiger (Panzer VI), the KingTiger, the Panther, the SturmTiger , etc...

Your right on the fact that James JM9 is wrong because the Panther (Panzerkampfwagen V) is a different tank than the Panzer I, II, III, IV.

The Panther could also be called Panzer V, but Hitler wanted it, just like the Tiger (Technical designation = Panzerkampfwagen VI) , to have an intimidating name so the popular name became "Panther".

Panzer = abbreviation of Panzerkampfwagen literally means (armored combat car).

Don't mean to attack you or question your knowledge on the subject.

no, the panzer was a completely different chassis, and yes panzer also means "tank". it is a panther G. google PzKfw IV and then youll see a difference.
