when this show 1st aired, i didn't watch it b/c it wasn't a continuing of the cosby show. recently, it's been playing on gmc channel, & once you tune in, the episodes are pretty funny. cosby and rashad still worked great after the cosby show and this proved it. i'll admit, you have to get into a couple more episodes before deciding whether you're going to keep up or not. from what i've seen, it was still funny.
It could have still been the cosby show and they still could have been the huxtables all they had to do was make it like all the kids had grown up and left the house and continued on with the cosby show this show made no sense.
My favorite episode of "Cosby" was "The Dating Game." Debbie Allen was funny and so was Busta Rhymes. Debbie Allen was wilding out when she danced with Busta Rhymes. Then Pauline went off on Debbie Allen, talking about she needs to stay out of other people's kool-aid when she don't even know the flavor. That was hilarious. Please put that episode on youtube. lol
This is based on the BBC sitcom One Foot in The Grave but the only thing it seems to have in common is the flat cap. I was really intrigued to watch this but its woefully unfunny.
Will somebody please upload "The Dating Game" episode with Busta Rhymes and Debbie Allen. That episode is by far the funniest episode I have ever seen. Will somebody please upload the "The Dating Game" episode onto youtube?
I like this show. Where are the other episodes? This show is too good for viewers only to view a couple of episodes. Will you please upload more episodes please? Especially "the dating game" episode with Busta Rhymes and Debbie Allen.
I remember when this show ended. Saw it on the news showing the scene where they're both dancing. I thought this was still The Cosby Show and it'd still been going all the way from the 80's!
This is a very good show. I hope someone will please put all of the episodes of Cosby on youtube, because I want to see the show. They don't play it on TV like they used to. I especially want to see the dating game episode and the coming out episode. Would somebody please hook that up?
I don't know if it's widely known in the US, but this show was based on a very popular dark comedy in the UK called One Foot In The Grave. I loved both the Cosby Show and OFITG, but I feel Cosby fell short of either one. Cosby touches on the plot twists and misunderstandings of OFITG, but the feel of the show is much closer to the Cosby Show. I encourage you all to watch a few episodes of OFITG to learn the influences that lead to the creation of Cosby.
@erika2012vsu omg me too...I was expecting this show to be a continuation of The Cosby Show...when all of the kids finally left the house. I thought that the kids were going to make special guest appearances...and that the show would focus on Cliff and Claire's lives without the kids there.
it is kind of hard watching this show and seeing that hilton is not a dr anymore and his wife is not a lawyer and they dont have 5 kids running around :( i miss the cosby show but atleast they made this show its very funny .. but i will always love the cosby show :)
@ohmyjonas55555 Don't be. Cosby had 4 TV shows in the last 45 years. I-Spy in 60's (Which was remade with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.) Then he had The Bill Cosby Show in 69-71 which was a sitcom. Then Cosby Show in the 80's and then this Cosby in the 90's. Which was a the US version of UK sitcom One Foot in the Grave. in the late 20th century It was all about putting your OWN name on a tv show as many times as you could so people never forgot you and guess what - They didn't
@ohmyjonas55555 He also had an animated show called Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids which ran for 12 years between 72 - 85. It's all about eponymous branding
I miss this show sooo much. I'd forgotten about it for a while. Phylicia and Bill were a perfect match for comedy. Madeline Kahn was amazing as well. Thanks for posting.
It's so easy to see that this was based on One Foot in the Grave! They even give cosby the hat... It doesn't look as good as Victor Meldrew, but it looks decent... Wouldn't mind this being released on DVD! But if you liked this you will love OFITG!
While Bill Cosby & Phylicia Rashād were HILTON & Ruth LUCAS in 1990s CBS sitcom, *Cosby*, the show was never directed by StePHen LUCAS during the middle school 1980s. Nevertheless, StePHen LUCAS did direct Erich LANGe & CAMERON Kelly in 1989*s pre-condom era Dude Ranch. Its unrelated to DurHAM, NC*s Duke University mens basketball or teammates & roommates GRANT HENRY Hill (b. 10-5-72) & Antonio Lang (b. 5-15-72)—players for the Blue Devil*s back-to-back championship teams in 1991 & 1992
StePHen LUCAS directed *Dude Ranch* also starred Johnny DAWes, CHRISTOPHER MANN (like reminding a CHRIS that someone is an adult), Mike Dean & Rod Lance. ROD LANCE is unrelated to LANCE RODman, played by ALLEN PAYne in the 1980*s NBC sitcom The Cosby Show*. JOHNNY DAWes is no relation to Duke Univ. player & assit. coach JOHNNY DAWkins, now head coach for the Stanford CARDinAL. ALLEN PAYne is unrelated to the erstwhile school chief and Riviera driving stone cultist. Rock & PAYne: *New Jack City*
@daniel83baez I think it's "A pair of threes always beats a flush." It came on GMC last week. And what a coincidence! I was watching All Grown Up, and this kid says "No Pudding this week." LOL
Gospel Music Channel. I don't know what channel number has it in TX for digital or basic cable but check it out and hopefully you won't have to call to order it.
no it had nothing to do with the original it was based off of a uk show called one foot in the grave. he wanted to distance his new show from the cosby show. except for the name and mrs. rashad
@RedwineZetar - ok, you missed my point, and you didn't read the back story on this show. he tried to make it "similar" (which does not mean "the same as") the The Cosby Show when he cast Phylicia Rashad, hoping to try and catch some magic from the old show. read about this show and you will see that. if it had nothing to do with the old show, then Phylicia Rashad would not be in it. The shows weren't related in any way, but outside the show, they had some significance to each other.
he cast Phylicia cause they had to have had something going on come on you have to agree. And i love bill but there is proof that we messed around on camelle. he cast her in this the cosby show and little bill. phylicia she smashed the homie!!!!
I hated this show, but there was one episode I absolutely LOOOOVED - Dating Games. This was the one with Busta Rhymes on it. The parts where Hilton was trying to teach Pauline how to make snappy comebacks were FUN-NY!
I am thrilled that you have "Cosby" videos - I was beginning to think I was the only one who ever saw the show. I would love to get my hands on the complete DVD set - professionally made or home-made, it doesn't matter. If anyone knows, please let me kno where I can get them.

@frannyfel ME TOO ! I remember when the show was on TV but that was so long ago. They should at least show re-runs on TV. Maybe we should start a petition lol
@LhalaluvzJanet well actually....it is on TV..... Gospel Music Channel is showing it every night what i understand... the problem i have is my cable network don't carry GMC so i cant watch...fathers day there was a Marathon of "COSBY" it was on the whole day....so if you have GMC you can watch..and yes maybe we should start a petition lol
@frannyfel Yes I think we should start the petition because I don't have that channel either. We need to tell someone to put it on a channel most people ACTUALLY have lol
