when this show 1st aired, i didn't watch it b/c it wasn't a continuing of the cosby show. recently, it's been playing on gmc channel, & once you tune in, the episodes are pretty funny. cosby and rashad still worked great after the cosby show and this proved it. i'll admit, you have to get into a couple more episodes before deciding whether you're going to keep up or not. from what i've seen, it was still funny.

It could have still been the cosby show and they still could have been the huxtables all they had to do was make it like all the kids had grown up and left the house and continued on with the cosby show this show made no sense.

My favorite episode of "Cosby" was "The Dating Game." Debbie Allen was funny and so was Busta Rhymes. Debbie Allen was wilding out when she danced with Busta Rhymes. Then Pauline went off on Debbie Allen, talking about she needs to stay out of other people's kool-aid when she don't even know the flavor. That was hilarious. Please put that episode on youtube. lol

This is based on the BBC sitcom One Foot in The Grave but the only thing it seems to have in common is the flat cap. I was really intrigued to watch this but its woefully unfunny.

I don't know if it's widely known in the US, but this show was based on a very popular dark comedy in the UK called One Foot In The Grave. I loved both the Cosby Show and OFITG, but I feel Cosby fell short of either one. Cosby touches on the plot twists and misunderstandings of OFITG, but the feel of the show is much closer to the Cosby Show. I encourage you all to watch a few episodes of OFITG to learn the influences that lead to the creation of Cosby.

it is kind of hard watching this show and seeing that hilton is not a dr anymore and his wife is not a lawyer and they dont have 5 kids running around :( i miss the cosby show but atleast they made this show its very funny .. but i will always love the cosby show :)

@ohmyjonas55555 Don't be. Cosby had 4 TV shows in the last 45 years. I-Spy in 60's (Which was remade with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.) Then he had The Bill Cosby Show in 69-71 which was a sitcom. Then Cosby Show in the 80's and then this Cosby in the 90's. Which was a the US version of UK sitcom One Foot in the Grave. in the late 20th century It was all about putting your OWN name on a tv show as many times as you could so people never forgot you and guess what - They didn't

It's so easy to see that this was based on One Foot in the Grave! They even give cosby the hat... It doesn't look as good as Victor Meldrew, but it looks decent... Wouldn't mind this being released on DVD! But if you liked this you will love OFITG!

@RedwineZetar - ok, you missed my point, and you didn't read the back story on this show. he tried to make it "similar" (which does not mean "the same as") the The Cosby Show when he cast Phylicia Rashad, hoping to try and catch some magic from the old show. read about this show and you will see that. if it had nothing to do with the old show, then Phylicia Rashad would not be in it. The shows weren't related in any way, but outside the show, they had some significance to each other.

I hated this show, but there was one episode I absolutely LOOOOVED - Dating Games. This was the one with Busta Rhymes on it. The parts where Hilton was trying to teach Pauline how to make snappy comebacks were FUN-NY!

I loved "Cosby" as well. I know it was based on a British show called One Foot In The Grace but Dr. Cosby made the show funnier!!! He played a grumpy old man well. He was still giving out advice and telling funny stories on this show. But I enjoyed both The Cosby Show and Cosby. He's an icon.
