When you draw you seam to not do any small details, with out the small details it just looks like a drawing. When you draw with small details it looks like a drawing from the heart. You must have the heart to draw. Drawing is either your complete passion or just something you do ounce and awile but i belive you can do it. You just need practice

Being both in the army and a hobby artist,Id like to say that those drawings are just superb.The background gives you a glimpse of where the location is (Such as at 9-19 Im guessing thats point du hoc?) and the expressions in the characters faces really show the intensity of where they are fighting and what situation theyre in.The slick shading effects also give the feel of sort of sadness that as an artist takes years to actually perfect.So good job on making a kickass piece of work.

i been drawing for 30 years and painting for over 10. these are really good. what strikes me is how many you have and how hard you worked on the series as a whole. you say there is no glory in tracing? i disagree. if you can re-assemble new "art" by tracing numerous other artists work then its justified. in a way you are "tracing" by the choice of subject matter. there is a long history of military art and drawings that you are "borrowing" from. "good artists borrow, great artists steal"-picasso

i agree, more marks.not just on the helmets. your drawings are great line drawings.however, as artists we can ALL improve.I agree i want to see more scratches, marks, erasures,smudges and blocked in shading.they are great line drawings dont get me wrong, wouldnt waste my time if i didnt like em.just trying to help u break into the next phase. dont b afraid to make marks that arent correct, erase some but not all of ANY mark. "bad" marks are road maps to where the correct ones go and add 2 it all
