  • i was named after this song... awsome

  • Eèn van hun nummers die ik altijd graag gehoord heb!

  • Love their humor and fun and especially the amount of fun Tony, Bobby and Bernie are having. Long live The Hollies!!!! : )

  • haha im actually quite chuffed that there is a really great song with my name in it :P

  • OMG my name is eloise!!!!!!!

  • I love the hollies and this song of theirs too it also has my name in it and I also love Barry Ryan eloise!!!

  • I LOVE these old videos. The Hollies are so cute in this, and what a great song!

  • reminds me of the beatles.

  • Go Hollies!

  • I got this album while shopping at Wilco with my parents about 1975 in the bargin bin. I thought it kind of weird since I was into Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd at the time.

  • One of my favorite 60s Hollies tunes its got a hook....I dont know what it is it can be corny at times but there is something about it that it always makes me feel better when I hear it....thanks for posting....

  • blur should have covered this.....modern life era...

  • OMG they're so cute!

  • sixties music always puts you in a good mood :)

  • Love everything that the Hollies ever recorded. Not too many people remember this one. One of my favorite songs. Kind of haunting.

  • I was named after this song as my parents were crazy about the hollies, to be fair they r an excellent band and r still going 30 odd year later

  • that´s great, I´m 38 but the music like this makes me grand !!!

  • What a feeling, when the song begins to get up at 0:38!

This is the power of the 60's!

Wish, to have lived in this time. But we live now and we're allowed, to hear this great and wonderful music. I'm grateful! Best time of the human being in history :)

  • Oh, to be a fly on the wall in Abbey Road studios #2 and #3 in 1964-68! (sigh...)

  • aww ma names eloise

    :)

  • This was way before MTV.Like alot of these 60s groups

  • my fave group after the beatles, arent we lucky to have these talents,i am

  • One of my fave Hollies -- Allan's voice is a treat to hear. Didnt know it is Graham who is singing intro.

  • zo mooi! zo lang geleden... zoveel geleden

  • Cool...It's sound so nice...i love it...

  • Nice vid (my personal favorite is the promo they shot for "Carrie-Anne." I wish someone would re-post that one). However, this vid isn't as good as they one they did for "The Smothers Brothers Show." That's one is much more engaging visually rather than having the band just STAND THERE!

  • Ha..nice vid..like this song...sounds great!

  • i wish some capitalist will put together a DVD collection of The Hollies' greatest.

  • @Cebuana59 Me too , I'd buy it ..

  • @Cebuana59 they have. Look for the "Look Through Any Window" DVD

  • Very classic video. Excellent. Thank you for post.

  • Oh! A song with my name =D

  • the BEST, HARMONY, in R&R HISTORY. there is NOOOO~~r&r hall of fame, without the GREAT HOLLIES. tks for posting from one HOLLIES fan to another, tks again..

  • I loved the hollies, and of course this song also. I loved the British invasion as a teenager growing up in New England in the mid-late 60's. Stones, Dave Clark 5, Herman's Hermitts, Beatles and then the American bands. Every week listening to the top 40 and seeing who would knock who out of first place. Those were the days. you don't see that today. To bad for our youth.

  • too bad, indeed :( you don't see songs as wonderful like this one either, sadly.

  • todays youths have been brain washed into thinking that RAP is not only music, but its GOOD... very sad.....

  • @jackslicl100 or they just dont like this kind of music.

  • lol my name is eloise but ive never actually heard this song before ive heard of another one though =)

  • Oh wow the chords of this ARE a lot like 'Midnight cruiser'

    but this came first?

I always knew Midnight Cruiser, never this..

  • Hollies have to be one of the best bands ever!!! So underrated.

  • I have to agree with you there bluegrass!

  • I love it when Tony pulls his like scarve thing at the end and bows or something

  • Song #5,984,937 that you NEVER hear on any of the so called "oldies stations".

  • That's the reason I stopped listening to FM rock & oldies radio. Always the same boring songs

  • Great!

  • Imagination in music...at its best!

  • Never heard this stereo mix before (with the split vocals). Is this available or is it from a boot?

  • Oh my, never knew this one existed. This was Graham Nash`s swan song with the Hollies. I was really torn up to hear that he`d left but he went on to some fine moments with CS& N anyway. Great album King Midas in Reverse which this came from.

  • wasnt the album called buterfly?

  • Evidently there were some copies with that name, Butterfly was a beautiful Graham Nash cut on the album but mine is called King Midas In Reverse. Cheers

  • Yes Butterfly was the UK version Dear Eloise/King Midas was the US version of the album

  • 1st time that I have heard this 1.I'm fairly new 2 site though,so, have lot's of songs 2 listen 2,+ VIDS 2c. LOVE this+ GR8 VID. Thanx 4 posting.X

  • Gentlemen as always, they had the grace to pull this off with humour. I love Allan's tousled look...Like he just rolled out of bed..sweeeet.

  • Its hot when he looks like that. haha.

  • I heard this was filmed in Spain ....is this true?

  • read the comments ... it's Brussels, at the Palace of Justice, near Place Louise

  • ok reinpost

  • Tony youre so precious MARRY ME!!!!!

  • I also think Allan is gorgeous, but not in this video! He's looking like Frankenstein!Hahahahauhauha Tony is soooooo cute!! Graham is hot u_u

    Cool video!

  • I'll still take Allan!

  • Aw he doesn't look that bad. I love Tony's giggling and clapping here, its like hes taken something!

  • I love Allan, I like how he is running at the camera with his arms wide! why can't he just pop out of my computer monitor!!!!

  • I bought this 45 when it was released and I still have it. Always one of my favorites! Nice to see the vid!

  • OOPS!..typo..I meant 'favourite' of course!

  • My very favoutite Hollies era of all time..I love their look and sound here. Allan Clarke is SO ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! The lads are all very cute in this video.

  • Butterfly, my first Hollies´s album, it´s so damn great, amazing tunes!!!!

  • Theyre so cute and sweet here, ahhh youth!!!!

  • i have always been head over heals for Allan. but i am starting to notice that drummer with the hat and shy smile in theses videos. who is he? "the quiet hollie" :-)

  • That's Bobby Elliot, he's been their drummer almost since the band formed.

  • Great song! I used to play it with my high school band... awesome!

  • One of my fave songs!

    This is great! :)

  • Graham looks so cute here, but Tony is hands down the cutest.......

  • The SUPER cutest, of course!!!

  • Agree with bandcouver - very weird promo. What were they thinking? "I know! Let's film the band...standing around! In a vaguely scenic location!" Of course, it kind of looks like they were going for a sort of A Hard Day's Night vibe - but I don't think it worked that well.

Nonetheless, it's a great song, like pretty much any Hollies song! I've been a Hollies fan for a long time, but never looked them up on YouTube, so I'm having fun :)

  • Amazing, dynamic tune...but a horrendous promo clip. It's is an interesting period piece though.

  • The most beautiful voices ever!!

The Hollies is one of the most underrated pop rock band.Bobby Elliot a superb drummer.Allan Clarke...well...Allan was the top of the top Although unusually the musical press has always ignored him. Clarke must be in every list about the 10 best singers of the pop-ballad-rock all times, for his vocal level, his versatility for to tackle all the rhythms, and his qualities when he sing the bleated slow ,merseybeat, ballads, reggae, as when he sing hardrock.-

  • Big hit in Holland. Logisch hè !

  • Who sings on this one? it's not Allan Clarke right? maybe Graham nash, isn't it?

  • It's Graham Nash at the start and end I think. Hope that helps!

  • Yes, I think so.

    Thanks man :)

  • of course I love this

  • Toneh!:P I

    love you, Tonyyyy!!

  • <3 <3 <3 LOVE YOU TONY <3 <3 <3!!!!!!!!1

  • the weren't quit dancers , weren't they ? :D

  • This is a wonderful song! Unforgettable beginning and ending too. All-round Great video!

  • The hollies deserve a place in the Pop and Rock Hall of Fame !!!

  • Leave it to Tony to be the super cutest!! =D

  • One of the fist known "music videos" predating MTV by 16 years. The band was rousted from bed while on tour and was instucted to "act" while the song was played on a cheap portable phonograph. History of Rock Pt. 14.

  • i love this song. the video is really cool. I didn't know it was in brussels. wow.

  • aaahhhh!! YES !! they are having fun with this song !! LOVE it!!! thanx modsheff1 its on my fav list !! HOLLIES FOR EVER!! lYNDLOO...

  • FINE!

  • great song

  • From the Butterfly Album , the less famous but my favourite and a wonderfall time to spend

  • The Best!

  • my next door naibour!!

  • brill - thanks for the posting- whoever put the message up saying a fine english band made me smile- it s a bit like saying Brazil are a bit of a footie team or magritte painted my walls- clarke, nash hicks x

  • it was filmed in brussels

  • Does anyone know where this was filmed?

  • I read that it was filmed in Spain.

  • Correction: It was Brussels!

  • I bought the Hollies' Greatest Hits LP 27 years ago and fell in love with this song. Thanks for posting.

  • a quite underrated song from a fine english band

  • HOW SADDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • HOW SADDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • omg dis iz nice and hey izs ma name =] lol

    safee

  • my little girl is called eloise and thought this is a great song with her beautiful name in it

  • another pretty name is Aubrey,a "Bread"tune

  • This is a great song! I love the Hollies and I love Tony Hicks:D;):):P

  • Those cars!!! I want one!

  • Wonderful! They look kinda shy and awkward...but it works! Wonderful time capsule. Great lovely song.

  • great song!!! it is hard to believe they are not in the hall of fame. they were awesome performers and they could all sing.... awe the 60s

  • Why this group is not in the rock n' roll hall of fame is a shame.

  • FOCK DA HALL OF LAME

  • Yeah. I mean, Madonna? In the ROCK etc hall of fame? Yes. Next it will be Justin Timberlake.

  • @whofan1 they were inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame just this past year

  • @whofan1 Because they are the best .....

  • This tune was an "A" side single in the U.S., Canada and some countries on the continent, in the UK it was the "kick-off" track on the "Butterfly" LP.

  • @refrescospepito: this vid was not taken in Spain but in Brussels. The eclectic style building you clearly see @00:15 is the Justice Palace.

    Great song btw

  • yeah Butterfly is truly a great album. I'm just getting in to it but man, such a heavy album. Lots of strings, horns and harmonies. Really brilliant.

  • This is a great song from a great band, the beginning and end are pure psych 1967. Makes you wonder how they'd have developed had Nash stayed with them?

  • To really know the Hollies you havta have lots of their music... I found this out! smiles... Thanx Holliesfan!!! Peace!

  • This is strange - very strange that they're just kinda standing there without their instruments. Graham Nash looks great though.

  • This kind of songs made of Hollies one of the most fantastic band, fighting the number 1 hit with Beatles and stones for a long time. Here they mix advanced phisocdelic with a perfect pop construction.

  • Wonderful!

  • thers another vidio of this same song on you tube

  • so many thanks to to you Holllies fan for posting it. Prompted me to find it on CD from one Hollies fan to another.

  • wonderful song

not fond of "happened" though - seems out of place

  • What do you expect for 1967 one month after the summer of love.

  • GOD THEY ARE AMAZZINGGG!!

  • TFS, great music.

  • Well, here is proof that you can never hide from your past.

  • great song, I can never seem to find it anywhere though - to download?

  • my names Eloise :P i thought you should no that lol XD :P i feal so special :P

  • wootage!

  • thanks SO much...one of my favourite songs by one of my favourite bands

  • LOL who said Bohemien rapsody was the first group video ? , the Hollies did it first (well before at least)

  • Fantastic footage.

    Great quality.

  • I think this video was shooted in Spain

  • It is in front of the Palais de Justice, Brussels. Great view of the city there.

  • Cool video of a very underated group. They are one of the best of all time!

  • totally agree, rwells47.

  • very good song, cheers for this holliesfan.

  • DU KARALHO...

  • NAO SERIA MELHOR TOCANDO INSTRUMENTOS...PARECEM UM MONTE DE BICHINHAS PERDIDAS NO ESPAÇAO E NO TEMPO...kkkk

MUITO BOA A MUSICA...ESSES CARAS SAO DU KARALHO...DE VERDADE...

  • From the album Butterfly - worth checking out.

  • Yeah! For anyone interested: you may also want to search "Dear Eloise/ King Midas in Reverse" as it's just, essentially, an alternate title.

  • What?

  • For the reissue of the Butterfly LP on CD.

  • "essentially, an alternate title"

I was trying to figure out how you mean it is an alternate title??? Was it side A and B of the record, or???

  • Such a great group, and one of my favorite songs.
