I don't think that everyone should stop eating meat because that is an unrealistic expectation that'll never be fulfilled. I do, however, believe that people should be getting off their lazy asses and getting that meat themselves. Hunting puts animals down quick and painlessly, you can use all the parts and most importantly they still get to die free. But this scenario is not likely either as it'd require humanity to understand a concept that has been lost on us for years: respect.

Humans don't need to eat meat to survive, true meat eaters don't get cholesterol build up and they have much shorter digestive tracts. why raise animals just for meat. without the demand there won't be the supply. you are part of the problem. so is everyone who eats meat.

Until the education gets results millions of animals will continue to suffer. But if in the next elections the animal activists force the parties to have a stand in this issue, then the suffering will stop faster, once the new government assign people to watch over slaughterhouses.
Concerning the slaughter houses, I guess the ideal situation is for the farm animals to die happy. It isn't really our eating them that is so bad, it's the abuse they suffer before we consume them. I wish someone would create a humane way for them to live and die for our consumption. AND, while no one will ever stop eating meat, I wish people would REDUCE their meat consumption. We eat too much meat. From obese people, to huge bodybuilders, and everyone in between, we eat too much meat.
