no, they've removed it now, it was only there for a few days or weeks because of Reykjavík Arts festival... it was a part of a much bigger project, there were total 9 cars and 2 giant puppets walking around the city.. I've got videos of those too.. but i think they had to take it because of the tree and other reasons...LOL it was so funny when i got there one day, and it had gotten A PARKING TICKET ;) LOL
...a hole was made through the car, then the car lifted up and prolapsed over the tree.
...the tree was ripped up with the roots and squeesed through the car.
...the tree was cut with a saw and put together again, through the car.
The most adventurous theary, and at the same time the most fun theary, is then ofcourse that the car had been there for so long that the tree basically grew through it.
Óli Jón Hertervig, department manager at the effectuation domain of Reykjavik, is none of those thearies correct. "This took eight men six to seven hours in the middle of the night," he says.
"A part of the car was cut out, it then carried up to the tree and put around it, and then the part was boiled back in and the car finally sprayed," Óli says, but it can be mentioned that this was so well done that no signs about this procedure are seen on the car.
Óli Jón says that preparations were on for about a month, but then the most time went to the car on Skólavörðuholt (the one with the tree). Then he wants to give a point to that a lot of work went to protecting the tree and it was wrapped through and through while the procedure was on.
i realize there may be some errors in which words i used.. like boiled and sprayed... i dont think those are exactly right but you got what i mean..i think now that boiled is supposed to be melted :P
The Art Festival started in a particularly good way with the French street theatre Royal de Luxe. That is about a form of art that seemed to appeal to everyone, whether the question is about children or adults, people who know about culture or others. The giants were amusing and made in a way that you were even ready to forget for a while that these were puppets but not real giants
That which didnt get any less attention were the car carcasses that the angry giant has left behind scattered abroad the down-town. A total of 9 cars, and a city bus in Lækjargata, become harshly collided with the giant which continuously came up with more primitive ways to take his anger out on the vehicles.

Some people think that...
...a hole was made through the car, then the car lifted up and prolapsed over the tree.
...the tree was ripped up with the roots and squeesed through the car.
...the tree was cut with a saw and put together again, through the car.
