  • I LOVED THIS!

  • It's amazing how much has changed since the 1990s: shows like The Queen's Nose seem to hail from another era.

The theme tune is beautiful and the series had quite intricate storylines. It didn't patronise children with simplistic scripting.

Nowadays you'd have to watch BBC4 for this kind of sophistication.

  • When I was younger and even to this day whenever I have a 50 pence piece I rub the queens nose just to check :L

  • what was the show with the kid who had a bmx what could fly. i love that show

  • @coolbeans851 i think your on about ET :P

  • man...this was my favorite show

  • this was EPIC loved this show

  • It always reminds me of the episode where someone wishes everything to be ice-cream.

  • The Queens Nose had good stories each week!! and was on TV when there where 2 different 50p's! in curculation.

  • Anyone else just clicking link after link of old skool 80's and 90's CITV shows!?

  • @xttocx yea man, but i used to watch this, good times!

  • @xttocx Yes. Yes I am.

  • YEA you mad this melancholy shit me up bad when was a child i'm glad some said that nice1

  • miss this too. the only good old shows now showing are my paretns are aliens. but they've even got a new version of it!

  • I used to fancy the hell out of melody.

  • I used to hate this show when i was a kid :D

  • I met a girl called Melody Harper at our school and it turns out she and I both love this :)

  • Have you got every single episode?

  • Loved this show as a kid :')

  • Yeah the theme tune is so heavy and dramatic. Like a period thriller.

  • Bllody hell, this was THE shit back in the day :D

  • Shortest episode ever lol.

  • This song always has brought tears to my eyes... idk why :(

  • Excellent show sad they stopped it bring it back.

  • This show used to terrify me when I was younger... Have no idea why... But I remember having a nightmare about the Queen on a 50 pence piece taking to me very aggresively... o-0

  • @TheDragonmandan All the children shows on bbc were scary hahaha

  • I like the music.

  • Dnawwwwwww I used to love this show as a kid. the episode when the home catches fire and they travel back in time to try to stop it

  • Does anyone know is this peice has a full name? It's so nice; it's a pity its only 30secs long :(

  • Melody was fiiiittttt

  • they should bring back all of these good shows and get rid of the crap that’s on TV now

  • @AlexDjumic

No, no these belong to us and our generation.

  • Beautiful theme tune, was it written for this show or is it part of a longer piece?

  • Raise your Virtual Hand if you only watched in the hope that the older sister would (once again) jump into a pond and get her amazing tits wet.

  • Did anyone else notice the 50p would change as the years went by?

  • This was one of my fave programs :) I used to rub every 50p that I had LOL x

  • Kids tv had alot more charm back then.

  • I wish it was still on tv :(

  • Anyone remember another childrens TV show around the same time, cartoon about a crocodile/alligator. Definately on BBC, strugglign to remember what it was!

  • @harry211 I used to watch one called Christopher Crocodile I think?

  • @JustLoveForMe Thats it! Cheers for that, was starting to wonder that it was a figment of my imagination!

  • @harry211 Yeah, I tried to look it up once and couldn't find anything, I started to think I was making it up too but my mom said it was real so that was slightly comforting xD

  • i still rub ma 50ps lol

  • This was back when kids shows had imagination and the BBC presenters were decent. Now we've got new presenters who are selfish, inconsiderate and don't care what anyone wants and the tv shows are just about graphics. No imagination. It's sad to what happened to great shows like this, Grange Hill, Funnybones, Playdays, Sooty and Co etc. I'm glad I experienced this when I was growing up.

  • R.I.P. Dick King-Smith :(

  • and daria, the racoons, doug, the poddington peas, dragon ball z,button moon, tots tv,fun house, byker grove there were loads and they were all really good.

  • The Queens Nose, the Demon Headmaster, Sabrina the Teenage Which, Are you afraid of the dark?, Zap, Arthur, Bernard's Watch, Pokemon - Don't make them like that anymore.

  • why is it not on dvd? the bbc are rubbish

  • The music was definitely a bit sinister

  • Was it just me or did the melancholy music freak some people out when they were younger?

  • @shivnub No, I loved it. It was magic, beautiful. Almost transported me to another world... best bit about the series!

  • @shivnub I used to love it :D

  • @shivnub Yeah! Its eerie!

  • @shivnub So did the title. I'd always imagine a floating, amputated nose!

  • @shivnub massively!

  • @shivnub Freaked me out as well.

  • @shivnub so its not just me that was freaked out by it thank god i thought i was the only one XD

  • @shivnub yes. I found this show incredibly creepy for some reason as a kid XD I have no idea why listening to it now

  • @shivnub Yup!

  • Watching this has brought back so many memories

  • LOVED IT!!!!!!

  • How great to see this here. I wrote the first 3 series - some of the happiest working years of my life. Thanks for putting it here. Steve Attridge

  • @steveattridge first three series were the best!!! i wasn't much of a fan of the rest of the series so glad i've stumbled across this theme tune its brought back a lot of memories

  • @steveattridge You are an absolute legend. That's all. I salute you.

  • @steveattridge Well, you did a smashing job.

  • @steveattridge thank you for starting my childhood right :)

  • wow my afterschool telly!

  • There was one similiar to this but set in Australia and with a black-purple ish rock.

  • @Nantchev-- With a girl with an opal and a genie? That was 'Genie from Down Under'. Quality kids tv, both of them!

  • @hatfish4

    Yeah that must be it.

lol, Genie from down under, what a funny name.

  • @Nantchev What they couldnt even afford a 50p ? lmao?

  • Come on admit it. You used to rub the nose on the old chunky style 50p coins like me and wish for stuff didn't you :P

  • @DomFeargrieve I used to do that loads. I think I've still got that 50p somewhere. Used to love this show. Got a bit stupid after series 3, more so when they seemed to have made the 50p smaller. I know it's meant to be a magic coin, but changing it's size! seriously!

  • Short programme.

  • @Mysterious0Bob haha

  • omg I remember coming home from school and watching this as a child! <3

  • @Biggles666squad same here lol

  • So good to be able to hear that theme again!!!!

  • Great theme, I could listen to it all day, I think the ending one is the best

  • omg! loved this show!

  • This show used to really really freak my out. No idea why.

  • what was the episode where the one boy/girl's tongue grows really long? i think they are on a boat at the time

  • I love this song it's so haunting. I remember watching this then it got shit when they brought all those new kids in....

  • I use to try find the queen's nose, save all my 50p's up.

  • i was in love with hamony as a kid, and this show, i even wrote about harmony in a school report thing i did !

  • i was 10 years old lol

  • carlton i thought it was the bbc that made this :/?

  • One of my personal favourites. I loved the kaleidoscope and the beautiful music.

  • i remember at the time, whenever i had a 50p id rub it to see. how silly lol

  • i remember this program but i always remember the theme being dull and dreary almost like something you'd hear from an antiques show

  • omg somebody tell me what was happening in this series....omg omg think in know it...hehehehhehe

  • I loved this show, and only now do I realise what a stupid name it had

  • woh forgot about this one its such a good feeling to see these shows again born 1990

  • MY DAUGHTER LOVED THIS PROGRAMME,SO MUCH SHE TAPED ALL THE EPISODES.

  • I wish I could find the sheet music to this theme

  • I never got to appreciate this show. I remeber watching it when I was very young so did not really understand it.

  • @JSMworld same :O

  • This is like an acid trip

  • 90s tv was so good.

i'd watch it now if they still had the same shows instead of these crappy ones that are on now :\

  • i got love for you, if you were born in the 90's, the 90's

  • I used to love this show because I wanted red hair like Harmony's ... and a magic coin of course!

  • Harmony was fucking hot <3 childhood babe

  • classic good old school memories

  • So yeah, raise your (Virtual Hand) if whenever you got 50p rubbed to try and get a wish or something

  • @mariotaz still do...

  • this was amazing

i think i watched every series, i thought it was amazing

  • CITV was still blatantly superior.

  • BEST PROGRAMME!!! I actually miss watching this :(

  • one of if not the worst theme tune to a kids program EVER

even byker grove's tune was better than this pish

this is more suited to a history, antiques, old peoples home program

a weak tune for a moderatly good program

  • Comment removed

  • How many series did they make of this? I remember the first was good, second alright then third was utter cheese, or maybe that was me growing up lol anymore?

  • Excellent upload of The Queen's Nose NeonElectric.

Stephen Moore who played Melody and Harmony's father in the show appeared on last saturday's Doctor Who episode playing one of the silurians.

  • Wow, that ones my favorourite episode.

  • I really wanted to shag this girl and her sister

  • @applesauce69

Oh hell yes. Right time in my life...Watching something I was just a little bit too old for (I was a teenager) and paying very little attention to the storyline, then having to suffer aching loins for hours afterwards.

A definite "Girls of Country Life," look to the older sister.

  • I'd forgotten this! Ah, happy days.

  • I never really watched the show, prefering cartoons, but the opening and outro used to really tug at me. Its a beautiful peice and the kaliedoscope effect

  • oh good god i detested this program... sorry, no disrespect at all, but gaaarrrrr, yuckkkk, i aaahhhhhrrr i hate it i hate it i hate it!!!!!!! and i know i'm probably the only one who does and i know i'm being a complete dick by ranting like this and i have no idea why i hate it, its just the thought of it, it makes me feel queasy from sum weird reason...

  • We ALL wished we had one of those magic 50p as well as a watch like bernards!

  • like as caleidoskop

  • I miss shows like the queens nose, the domon head master, round the twist and Aquila. God I loved the 90's, I did not think much of the 00's though.

  • @meatisdeliciouse

    - Totally agree with you ... i was born in 1990 and grew up with all those ... my fav used to be Bernards Watch followed by Animals of Farthing Wood. Kids programmes these days don't even match ours!

  • meglio vedere una volta di sentire rendering!

  • WOW. Memories! Memories! I used to wish I had that coin, then I remembered I should have the coin first then make a wish. Silly me. Some of the shows of the 20th century suck! They don't have that *MAGIC* in them. Love this show. :-)

  • good programme, crap intro/outro.

  • Cool! We all really liked the record!

  • OMG I FORGOT

  • Programme's like this were so magical when I was a kid

  • I remember watching this and my sister (her being a teen at the time) absolutely being hooked on it. Didn't they do a few more series a few years back. All i remember from that is the overdone rubbing of the coin and someone having a talking lizard in their bag as they worked in a shop.

    I don't know.

  • omg i completely forgot about this show! i loved it, thanks for putting this vid up! im gonna go google it now haha

  • This show was so tragic. :'(

  • I remember this so much! I loved it... sad music! I never realised before.

  • that theme is really great composition.

  • I always loved this intro. The music composed by Colin really fits the background.

Can someone please tell me what that Victorian -colour-shape-changing toy/device used for the credits is officially called- I completely forget.

I know its not a kaleidoscope

    Thankyou

  • ^ Colin Davis

  • haha...... my mistake. It IS a kaleidoscope.

  • i loved this showw soo much when i was younger :-)

  • the first season was the best after melody left as the main protagonist it wasnt the same.

  • Omg that took me back!

  • I grew up in the 90's - some great programs were made then like this, bernards watch, the worst witch and a good few others - all great works of entertainment!

  • Wish wish wish we could go back to the 90's :)

None of my friends smoked, they didn't drink, and no-one was under pressure to look good all the time...

    Everythings changed really :/

  • @su0rtin Excuse me? Make you feel like a hardman giving people abuse from behind a computer screen? LOL, you're pathetic. Get out more mate.

  • @xLittleMissBallroomx

    Its a song

  • @su0rtin ... Why direct it at me?

  • @xLittleMissBallroomx

thats so true, in this era children were children not trying to adults. i miss this time, never can get it

back.this theme tune used to sound so sad though

  • used to love this show..the kaleidoscope opening/ending is so beautiful :)

  • What is this melody called? It has haunted me ever since I was a child

  • I used to fap to this

  • The queensnose is trully sexy!

  • i lol'd at the bit at the end of the opening titles when it went "dun" for a second.

ha i just had a funny thought if that was the actual show :L

  • Now that you've pointed it out, I think I just died from laughing....

  • The tune alone brings back memories - one of my favourite books and a brilliant series to boot! (Except maybe the later series without Harmony)

  • The BBC and ITV should do a week where they re run all the kids tv shows from 1996 or something and put all this new crap to shame...90s KIDS TV RULES. The pink panther talks now...i mean wtf is up with that? :S

  • tbh i think you might be a Genius....that is Probs the best Idea i have ever Heard :D

  • @Ali8730 demon head master, queens noise.. I remeber those shows look at the crap they have now. Funny enough BBC reran Demon headmaster a few years back after I emailed a complaint about the quality of shows, such as super duper sumo wrestlers. I pointed out they had quality dramas and live action shows and didn't need to put on cheap imported cartoons
