  • lol, i was looking up what a speed wobble was because it just happened to me today and yup, this is actually what happened to me. i have a 04 gsxr 600. i was doing maybe 100mph. i had to get off the freeway after that scare. i just got new tires yesterday and was first time riding today. im on some power pures

  • You one lucky sum bitch!

  • Just purchase a handlebar stabilizer. duh.

  • @thoed84

Nah, he should get his suspension checked out, it shouldn't wobble that easy, sure a steering damper is a nice invention, but you need to get the suspension set up correctly, before you add a damper, otherwise you are just covering the problem up, and not fixing it.

Service the forks, aka new oil and check the springs (get some for your weight), then set the SAG on the bike for your weight, then you can add a stabilizer if you still feel like you need one.

  • Nice tank slap

  • Good save, when it happend to me it scared the shit out of me! next time fit a steering damper or move your body towards the front wheel to sort the slap out, dont want you to kiss the asphalt bro!

  • Straight Savage for Holdin on Bro! Good shit.

  • Damndude I've got the same bike and last time that happened to me I triped out and had to pull over to calm myself thank god your ok.

  • Next time give it some gas...you were decelerating, thats why your whobble amplified... and thats were it started... look carefully at the video..the moment you stoped accelerating the wobble started.. take care..

  • OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK. HOOOOOOOOOOOOLY SHIIIIIIIT!!!!! Nice save dude. Were you able to clean the shit stains out of your pants?

  • Check your head bearings and tire pressure...

  • In fairness to the rider he didnt go flat out through blind crests or corners. He also didnt slam on the brakes like a noob when the slapper happened and instead powered out of it properly. Credit where credits' due, good job mate. I'd say some poo came out of you during that one.

  • @Jaytlr YOU'RE A MORON, you don't power out of speed wobbles!

  • Get the suspension reworked for your weight and riding style, reduces the need for a steering damper but still invest in one for the time you will need it

  • Hope you were looking up to the sky to thank God you lived through that.

  • Do not input handlebars during wobbles. Do not put weight on handlebars. Ride smoothly. Go take some classes. :)

  • I could smell you shit your pants through my monitor

  • Smells strongly of squid in here

  • What you need is a pink mohawk for your helmet, Oh never mind you probably already have one...

  • @8204MAG I never said I was a pro. I said there's no way for you to know everything about me or how I ride

  • @zachs13 it's pretty obvious how you ride by the videos you've posted of yourself riding. it should be obvious by the comments on your video that you're an idiot for riding like that on public roads. if you want to ride that fast be responsible and take your super sweet R6 to the track and race it with the real men, the real riders. only squids ride like you do on public roads and think it's acceptable behavior.

  • @zachs13 you are nob :)

  • @zachs13 DUDE!! that shits scary! I had one at just over 120 and i thought i was going down! Keep the rubber side down bro.

  • @8204MAG Put some videos on to help us newbs out. =)

  • @8204MAG yes for sure this will end in tears....

  • @8204MAG internet troll

  • I don't need to reiterate the people who said keep it off the road but I will add that is this is the third time, maybe you should invest in a steering stabilizer? Works wonders for my bike. :D I have a GPR and love it. But, I also don't do this crap on public roads either.

  • owned, and those look like shitty missouri roads

  • @BallsonPHACE Ohio

  • Squid.

  • Hold your body mass up with your abs and get your weigh off your hands, the bars are for steering not holding onto or keeping your torso up. You might want to look up a book called "Twist of the Wrist" by Keith Codes. Bad technique will get you killed faster than anything else.

  • lucky man lucky man

  • Nice track...

  • @8204MAG You know nothing about who I am or what my skill level is?

  • @zachs13 but the fact that I held together a 145mph tank slapper should be somewhat of an indication

  • @zachs13: this is the third time you've gotten a tank slapper yet you continue to ride as if it won't happen again. going at those speeds when something is clearly not adjusted correctly (suspension, tire pressure, etc) shows you're a negligent rider with a poor understanding of cause and effect. one tank slapper should be enough to make you slow down until the problem is solved; additionally it shows you don't know how to setup a motorcycle, otherwise you wouldn't be getting tank slappers.

  • @zachs13 You just replied to yourself there.

  • @8204MAG but the fact that I held together a 145mph tank slapper should be somewhat of an indication

  • @zachs13 Nobody holds together a tank slapper, man. You either luck out or you don't. If this started happening when you got new tires, you should get the balance of those tires looked into. Also put your suspension back to stock if you have twiddled with it. FWIW, chopping the throttle is almost NEVER the answer to anything that's going wrong, although it is almost always the first instinct in a panic, trust me I know. Best advice you never asked for is this: get to a track.

  • @wwyatt oh yeah, also learn to mount your own tires :) Stay safe, brother.

  • @zachs13 Maybe steering damper tension is set high and need to be adjusted?

  • Dood, did you raise the forks in the triple? Mebbe you should put the rake & trail back to stock, ya'thunk?

It's always some douche on the R6.

  • @dilligaf0220 Didn't touch the suspension "dood".

  • @zachs13: there you go, stock suspension is not setup for each rider. you have to tune and adjust suspension properly for your weight and riding style and riding conditions. if you took the time to learn about how suspension works and took the time to learn how to ride at a track then you wouldn't be getting tank slappers and you wouldn't be getting all of the racers watching this video giving you shit. man up and learn how to take constructive criticism.

  • @zachs13 Typically thats from putting to much input into your handle bars/clip ons. Glad it looked like you had gear on, but a good video to look into is twist of the wrist 2. Will may help you see where you make mistakes like we all do. Also get on a track man 145 on a public road is asking for something to happen.

  • @zachs13 bad tires? hope you got it fixed

  • @zachs13 Maybe that is why. You should touch it!

  • @dilligaf0220 Lets not get all worked up speed wobble is simple of set weight itll happen on anything with wheels

  • 3rd time?

You're going to die, and probably soon. Sad. I hope you don't take anyone with you.

  • Seriously lol, invest in a damper before that happens again and you end up eating shit.

  • pants=crapped. I get a steering damper asap

  • I used to get tankslappers, But then I took a damper to my bars.

  • get a SCOTTS OR GPR

  • marsh mellows and sweet potatoes

  • ive hit 155+ on my stock gsxr and have never had this yet.

  • That just happen to me this weekend. I pick up a 2003 r6 no damper. I'm use to having a damper. I pissed my self. I was only going 50mph. Lol

  • so, if u got steering damper, this wouldn't happen?

  • Did you turn around and try that again just a little faster ? GREAT SAVE !!!

  • That scared me! Damn, you are lucky as hell you controlled that shit lol. Unlike some unlucky bastards

  • holy shit... its amazing you were able to get outa that one

  • Christ! Have you made a will, who are you going to leave the bits of the bike to!

  • how that was a mean tank slapper bro- i got afraid for you man. i thought you were gonna eat it.

had to get off the bike and take a breather

  • it happen to me only once, but I'm still wondering what's the reason for that? some people told me that my steering damper is bad and it's time to get new one.

  • shouldn't there be more dislikes than likes?

  • All you need now is a steering dampener ;)

  • Pretty bad roads over there. Glad you saved it.

  • your bike turned into a dildo ... nice save man... congrats

  • "Holy fuck!" haha I've had some bad ones, but this is insane!

I thought the newish R6s came with a steering damper?

  • @kostya9999 nope, not yet. looks like they should though, huh?

  • Do you really have to ride at those speeds on public roads? Real riders keep that sort of behaviour on the race track.

  • @zachs13 I think he misspoke. He meant "responsible human beings."

  • @zachs13 , real riders don't go 145+mph on a public road with intersections, cross traffic, oncoming cars, and potholes. If you're gonna ride like an idiot on a shitty R6 at least get a damper and take it to the track or an empty freeway without other cars around. Otherwise your next helmet cam video is going to feature your face embedded into the hood of a F350. Dumbshit. I've done 160 without being an idiot, you seem to not be capable of choosing good roads to speed on.

  • @themattreid agreed, take it to the track or at very minimum someplace safer

  • @themattreid I am not going to take advice from anyone that refers to themselves as "The" anything. You saw 2 minutes of video and can sum up all of my riding habits, lifestyle choices, and apparently intellect from just that? Don't tell me not to speed on a public road and then a few sentences later say you've done 160 at a probable attempt to impress or "one-up" me. The intersecting road was closed, the road I'm on was repaved only several months ago. Try to keep your badass attitude offline

  • @themattreid and shitty R6? haha you know nothing about my bike. I am willing to bet you're on a GSX-R?

  • @themattreid you mean non-temporary riders.

  • @CyclingMikey Quit being a faggot.

  • @ggizzo44 Yeah, bend over for me, I think I love you and I know you're gonna like it.

  • @CyclingMikey Ride your own ride. Let others do the same. Any true bikes knows that.

  • @187XRIDER Not on the public highway sunbeam. That sh1t kills and injures other people.

  • if that was me, i'd crap my pants and crash.

  • @Knickknack93 thanks for your honesty

  • id be crying

  • fuck that was ONE LONG SLAPPER.

  • Omg good thing u made it. U need a steering stabilizer.

  • That looks like it left a mark! I also couldn't figure out why you would pick 'THIS' road to go such a high speed?

  • omfg my hands are sweaty from watching this, because I know what it feels like!! what do you do to stop it?! just hold on tight on the handle bars--to try to correct the wobble, or what? brakes?

  • @g0d00101 there are a lot of theories on the best thing to do. personally i think it depends on the specific situation. I just gripped the tank with my knees to keep it from whipping me off, tried to ride it out for a few seconds and ended up shifting my weight back and rolling back on the throttle. I think when I gave it gas is when it came out of it.

  • holy shit that scared me lmao

  • my god !

  • that was the longest slapper ive ever seen

  • Hahaha my god that was close man, happend to me many time , just a case of keeping the power on

  • WOW! I know exactly how you feel. I had a slapper at 120 mph on my 08 r6 just the other day. Dunno how the hell I saved it. Im glad you survived this !!!!!!

  • @teemohnay me too man lol.

  • That's a proper "Oh Sh>>!" moment right there. It did last pretty long too. Good riding skills to make it out of that. Fitted any steering dampers yet? What year R6 is this?

  • @001Rupes nope, no dampers yet. And its an 09

  • take those shitty tires of, thay can cost you your live man!

  • Touched by an angel

  • This shit just happened to me today so I had to look for it on youtube. Luckily I saved it also in a 09 zx10 getting on the freeway. I remember thinking how to bail and then thought to myself "FUCK NO!" and just grabbed firmly. My buddy thought I was done for. It was during a short turn and I was leaning very little but the nose was off the ground. First time it happened but glad I didn't bite it.

  • @outkastfarmer2 yeah its happened to me several times and every single time for that first split second you feel like you're done. then the logic steps in and tells you to get your shit together lol.

  • @zachs13 I hear that brother!

  • that was 1 crazy save zachs,glad u got her under control,stay safe ...

  • holy shit dude how did you save that

  • @lutzjake135 hung on like hell and rolled on the gas. beyond that, just luck

  • this is the road bumb, you hit the road bumb, may be tire pressure too low, bombs are usually in intersection , speed is very normal, 120kmph, my normal speed, its like walking.... I heard wobble sometimes happen about 300kmph very rare or more speed,

  • Wow so glad you're okay, great save!

  • @GracefulWalrusPK yeah me too. thanks!

  • lol not to hate but if i lived in one of those house and was outside saw you doing that going by i will LOL and say it must be a new style or something LOL

  • Aplinestar gloves have a double kryponite lock that prevents your hands from leaving the handlebars, true story. good choice in gear .

  • no steering dampener?

  • lol HOLY 1:02 too bad u didnt have the camera mounted on your helmet!

  • Scary stuff lol. Did you hit a bump in the road or did it just come out of nowhere?

  • Kudos to you for keeping that thing up!! I like your riding, we need to ride together :) We're both crazy, we take chances, and accept these are OUR choices and our lives - that's the point and all these people have their own opinion, and those are the people who try to run the lives of the people around them. Riding a bike is already dangerous, fast or slow.

  • @MagentaZz1 Unfortunately it isn't the decision of those in oncoming traffic nor those trying to exit their driveways that you are riding 145 mph in what I would guess to be a 35 mph zone.

  • Absolutely insane. Way to hold on though, and glad the bike righted itself. Also, the guys on the forums (Where I found this) Are just condescending, self-righteous, hypocritical keyboard warriors. Anyone who doesn't take a sport bike to 140mph on the street..shouldn't have bought it. Glad you're ok man.

  • @JDM600RR Yeah I think some of them mean well, but others are just jackasses behind a computer. And thanks, I'm glad too lol

  • Is that an 08 R6? I just bought one yesterday and got a bad tank slap today without even hitting anything.

  • @7zero2dude its an 09. But they're the exact same bike pretty much. I think the only difference is a little remapping in the ECU, so as far as handling, suspension, etc., they're the exact same.

  • @zachs13 Ok, cool. I had an 04 R6 but sold it. I recommend getting a stabilizer if you're gonna be going that fast. I just got one today. Ride safe bro and keep it coming with the videos :)

  • jesus dude. slow your roll homie :)

  • I near on shit myself just watching this lmao. Frightening

  • Dude. That is by far one of the worst tank slappers I've ever seen. Congrats on regaining control and not binning it. Do you have any ideas what's causing it ? You're not putting too much weight on the bars ?

  • @CrashDumy I'm really not sure. Its happened a lot since I got my new tires. Its actually starting to get a little annoying...

  • @zachs13 I see a stabilizer in your shopping cart in the future. I love mine.

  • For some reason I'm not getting sound for this video on my computer? It works when I look it up on my phone. Let me know if you can hear it.

  • @zachs13 yep hear it fine
