whats the HUD transparency?

The HUD is basically the little thing that tell you how much ammo you've got, health, and some messages and objective things. You can change the transparency to make solid and vivid, or make it kind of like see-through stuff, or make it disappear completely so that you don't have anything on screen like in Dead Space.

You can change ANYTHING about the control scheme whatever way you want.

It may or may not come with pre-loaded zapper friendly schemes, but it's definitely compatible.
