This is garbage. Absolute crap. The real Seame Street was back in the 70's. It all went downhill after the addition of Elmo. They need to show some reruns of the old episodes. That would make a lot more people happy.

@Studmeister17 Sesame Street is about the new generation of children watching the show, not the fans who grew up with it. Also, their purpose is not to "make a lot more people happy"- it is instead to educate children, and let them have fun and be themselves! Sesame Street has become an instant hit with today's children ever since the introduction of Abby Cadabby and Elmo, so it's obvious they're doing things right.

Don't be afraid to accept change =)

@blueoctopede well, elmo came along when i was just a little kid, and as soon as they added him, i stopped watching the show. it became more of a baby show rather than a show for little kids. that's why they don't make new episodes any more. they ran out of material and people lost interest.

@Studmeister17 Personally I loved Elmo when he was introduced, but that probably has something to do with me being a girl. I've noticed that most guys don't seem to care for Elmo all that much... I read in an article a while back that Sesame is indeed trying to gear itself more to a preschool audience. I don't understand their thinking since there are already 1000 preschool programs out there, but whatever. You're right that there are no new episodes now, but next season starts Sept. 27th!

@blueoctopede But you see, Sesame Street was like one of the first enjoyable, educational kids shows that could also be endured by parents. The humor it contained was suitable for kids and adults. But now they've taken away all the original spunk and turned it into a baby show. It's not educational any more either - it's just dumb. The characters on the show used to be kinda dim-whited and silly, but now they're all absolute morons. If anything, it's making today's kids dumber.
