Sure we could get by using fossil fuels for another 150 years, but why wait til then when its too late to find an alternative solution. Electric cars are much cheaper to operate and maintain than gas, and not to mention infinitely cleaner. And power grids have huge amounts of excess energy right now that could be used at least until smarter methods of harnessing energy (wind, biofuel, solar, etc.) can be further developed and incorporated

The most important thing here is that if everyone turned to electricaly powered vehicles no country in the world can produce enough power to charge there batteries without doubling there power stations and thats not good for the enviroment LOL
