I'm from Southern California, but I took a trip to N.Y. in May of '06 and stopped in to CBGB's. Had a beer and listened to some crappy local band playing. It was pretty empty that night but I'm so glad I got to go inside and just experience it before it went away. So sad. Hopefully we've got some fresh new talent coming down the pike to keep the energy of pure music that CBGB's represented alive and well. I'm sure there is and will be. Goodbye CBGB's. You were awesome and we'll miss you.

Thanks. To this day, can't figure out why I held the camera that way. I once rotated the video 90 degrees using a program, but you know what, the whole place was always a bit askew, so I left the video this way for posterity. Just have to tilt your heads. Or your laptops. Haven't been there since to see what, if anything, is down there. Anyone?

Without a doubt the foulest smelling bathroom i ever experienced...it stunk real bad in the 70's..can only imagine how much worse it got later. I'm surprised the board of health let it go as long as it did.
