When launched right the EVO X would win. I just went from an 2009 WRX to EVO X. The EVO X GSR which doesn't come with launch control is a lot harder to launch 2009 WRX which doesn't have launch control but easier to drive out of the hole.
the evo looks stock.. and didnt even launch.. just slowly gave it gas...... if that evo owner drove it like its ment to be driven... he woulda killed the Z.. although i respect the Z and think its a good performance car... ill always be an evo guy =]
I find a lot of evo owners hold back on launches. Seems like they are afraid to drop the hammer at higher rpms with fear that they might break something. I've beaten a evo X in my 04 Z before, we were neck in neck until i slowly pulled away.
350z takes off lot nicer lot more torque but it dies off towards higher rpm, while evo is crap till about 2800 when boost kicks in and it pull allthe way to 7k.
If you want performance go the evo and is alot cheaper to get more HP out of, looks i would take 350z and to get more power out of perfectly tuned factory car (350z) is alot to ask.
wow, I am getting a little annoyed. The mitsubishi has AWD. IT SHOULD RAPE OFF OF THE LINE, yet, the boxter and nissan take it off the line. Is it an MR? I think the MR may have trouble launching, but if it is a GSR, there is no excuse for such weak launches.

Yeah its an MR, Somehow the MR launches slow, but thats because i think they are not using launch control.
