Guys THERE IS NO JUMPING! That is precisely what our new resident weightlifting coach at the OTC says. Olympic and 3 time world champion Zygmunt Smalcwerz says. It is something he has been trying to fix. You don't jump over anything or on top of anything, you apply force to a barbell to get under it. If any coach went to Russian, Korea or China and said lifters jump you would be laughed out of the gym.
@powmongo first sentence absolutely correct. if you think about it, oly lifitng is all about how fast you can get under the bar. would it make any sense to jump upwards first before trying to get down under the bar?
shut the fuck up you dont even know what your talking about, watch a video on how to do a power clean and the person will always jump, thus its a power clean. He didn't so its just a clean. I don't know what bull shit your talking about about a half clean full clean. Don't try to reply if you dont know anything dumb ass.
@cavsarebitches@cavsarebitches There is no jumping... yes it's an explosive movement up but this is what happens. Your body is fully extended on the tips of your toes. When the weight is pulled past the hip the athlete does another pull. You don't drop under the bar, you pull yourself under the bar. At this point this is where you may think they jump. WHat happens is that full extension of being on the tips of the toes now is a violet slamming of the heels (toe to heel looks air born).
@cownuttz70 im not saying its a massive jump, but once hip and knee extension is achieved and plantar flexion of the feet is achieved, the athlete should adjust their stance explosively, momentarily lifting both feet off the ground and reposition the feet to catch the bar in 90 degrees (or above) knee flexion. Thus a JUMP!!!!!
@cavsarebitches .Ummmm I think your the one who's wrong mate. A power clean doesn't "require" a jump to be that. Techniques may have subtle differences.

Great form
laxboys1331 1 year ago
nice form but this is not a power clean this is just an ordinary clean. A power clean is when you jump and explode. Nothing explosive about that
cavsarebitches 1 year ago
@cavsarebitches retard, any form of clean is explosive.
the difference between power and full clean is if you catch the bar with your knees below or above a 90 degree angle. power is above. full is below.
