The media always stereotyping the unemployed, that we are all low life chavs and bums who don't want to work. Iv'e been on a few shitty courses job centre forced me to be on and i have met alot of people who have qualifications and experience working in the most demanding jobs in the past....Fucking media more interested in selling there shit then actually telling the truth.
Typical scouse git, good on George Galloway for exposing his hypocrisy, this self serving bigot works as a nurse supposedly caring for the sick when deep down he totally resents patients for being alive. Another Harold Shipman in the making.
This man helps keep the workforce healty and productive....how can you help the economy more than that, only the ones that want to be sick and idle don't help the economy...he knows more about benefits cheats than millionaire galloway will ever know!!!!
I just found this video and love it. Thank goodness there are people sticking up for those on benefits for a change! For the most part people don't choose to be on benefits. This man who is complaining is getting 5 x child benefit, he gets his wages from the tax payer. He gets many many benefits from being a nurse. Instead of blaming everyone we should be standing together.
update to my last comment: i was made redundant in November last year. I've worked all my life. I applied for JSA. After 8 weeks and making me sign on 3 times (in addition, I documented, with evidence, the thirty-odd jobs a week I was applying for), the decision came back that I wasn't entitled to any as my girlfriend lived with me, that she should support me. One of the times I went to sign on, two 'charvas' came in at the same time as me (330pm) in dressing gowns guzzling lager..I despair
Great points mr Galloway that bloke from Liverpool has 5 kids and is getting state benefits what a knob ps people who are in work today and look down and judge people on benefits it maybe you tomorrow so be careful what you say
I have completely changed my politics since my redundancy and think that capitalism (which can work) has become a symbol of greed, elitism and corruption. All the main political parties are puppets for the corporations, who give them massive doners. Everyone is right wing, there is no left wing politics in the UK. Its like goiing into a grocery store and asking for a drink and having a choice of coke or pepsi,, both of which are colas, but where one is slightly sweeter than the other.
Like this guy, I had a terrible attitude towards pretty much everyone who did not have a job. Unemployment I found was both depressing but also a time when people are most vulnerable to the most appaling form of discrimination and public humiliation by the government and the idiots at the job centre. The latter are essentially gustapo and hunt you to the ends of the earth if you make the slightest mistake, while the banks are givebn free pickings on public money on a daily basis.
This scoucer is so out of touich with reality. I am a Doctor in Physics, and was recently made redundant by my company due to the so called recession. Before then I was very well paid and had very little interest in unemployment and benefiys, because quite frankly I never thought I needed them.
The government spends lots of money on junk and war, if they didn't then they would have enough to reduce tax, increase benefits and increase the minimum wage to maybe £10 per hour....
@Tzimnewman3 He has never looked to the state for any "hand outs". So his kids go to private school, he pays for his healthcare, has never required the emergency services, has never driven on a public road, etc. etc. etc.
in my area the polish run most of via agency work this is all done purposely to pis us all off and in the same way they are paid less so companys take them on rather than english. Its all a con.
The caller is a nurse so his wages are funded by tax payers in the private sector. The caller does a vital job but economically he contributes nothing to the state but feeds from it. How can he call people who take such small amounts from the state? And how can he work in a caring profession when he clearly doesn't care about people?
This caller is a fool. It costs the taxpayer 5000 pounds to educate each of his children every year between the ages of 4 and 18. That's 25,000 pounds per year potentially, before we even talk about child benefit, and there is no way a low paid nurse makes that kind of contribution to the Treasury. People in the UK think that if you pay tax you contribute; bull! Most people are net takers, especially if they have kids.
Galloway - defender of the taxpayer buying people £250 prams, notice he avoiding talking about that. I hate how Galloway never gets a caller intellectually equal to him because he can argue absolute bullshit and win because the caller isn't very well versed / informed on detail.
You are calling Galloway a bully but are picking on the weakest in society. The unemployed being 'lazy' .. no.. it's you. With your failure and unwillingness to think about the real reasons why people are unemployed - perhaps poverty, poor education, a corrupt government and an absolute failure of a society and culture that has programmed people to be Jeremy Kyle worshipping Sunreading drones who have never read a book. Whilst bankers rob billions, you moan about their £60 a week. Pathetic.
Actually, you don't even have to phone the cops as Galloway suggests. The govt have a benefit fraud hotline - 0800 854 440
That said, when Galloway suggested reporting any benefit fraud the Liverpool nurse knew about he (the nurse) was struggling. Which suggests he has no real eveidence at all!
JSA benefit has shrunk in value to a paltry £64 a week, that is deliberate govt policy, if you combine that with harrassement of all those who go to jobcentres, introducing penalties for being late for signing on (it takes them 25 seconds to sign you on, so why such a fuss), all sorts of threats and sanctions for not taking jobs, (they are not designed for professional people), jobcentres are not there to help you find work, they are there to make sure you comply with the requirements of JSA.
Absolutely not, I listen to all points of view, there is a section of the unemployed that is lazy, others that are better off on benefits and some that quite frankly are unemployable, however there are also many unemployed people who genuinely want to work, I don't generalise, Galloway refuses to listen, discuss or debate, if anyone has an opinion that differs, he shouts, rants and belittles people, hallmarks of a typical bully.
i alway find it sad that people lucky enough to be in work use there energy to complain about benefits being to much instead of complaining there own wage is to low. there not complaining about the lack of position available that actually pay a living wage.these people are working class using the propaganda of millionaires .its insane.
george galloways 99% correct standing up for the poor, however single teenage girls do get kept by the state, knowing full well they will get looked after which replaces any need for a proper long term father, they also get kept by there mothers, why would someone be paid to bring people into the world to live in gettos with alcoholism addiction drugs violence etc
"To live in benefits is to live in poverty"..."if you know ppl working on benfits phone the police"...Please spend a bit of time in the real world George, u sound ridiculous.
I work as a volunteer in a charity shop. We sell lots of prams and baby clothes because people are too poor to buy new ones. These sorts of items go really fast. If there are grants for these kinds of things most poor people aren't getting them.
@startec25 you're not supposed to 'live good' when you're on Jobseekers Allowance. It is the bare minimum society says you're supposed to be able to live on.
@startec25 exactly, your not supposed to live good.
Thats why its welfare not a Royal Cheque Book Account.
On benefits I have lived on £70 a week with NO HOUSING support. I know Im a mug, but end of the day I only take what I need and no more. I sure desire more but its not my place to rob the working class blind. Thank fuck I didnt bring a life into this world because when the benefits for kids gets cut there will be broken hearts all over the place.
Just to add - it's not everyone who is claiming benefits playing the system - its a minority. I think what sticks in the throat like a razor blade - is that none of these teenage breeding machines have never - and are unlikely to ever in the future - pay into the system that supports them so readily.
Why does George think it's perfectly ok for our nations teenage girls to get pregnant in the numbers they are today? The children have no family role models to influence them or better themselves
Hmm - the nurse is right. We shouldn't allow teenagers to get themselves pupped if they have no means to support their child. We see the evidence everyday (i do). Teenager gets pregnant - teenager's child becomes a teenager and also gets pregnant...etc, etc. We have a huge underclass - (working class is middle class to these people) no skills/talent other than being brood mares and pop out units at the drop of a hat. We won't be able to support them much longer. The money will run out :-/
Your point is valid but I think you could have put it across better, I don't think that the teenagers intend to get pregnant, I think that the emphasis needs to be on education and contraception, not blaming the kids having kids.
I strongly disagree with George Galloway on a number of issues, but I have allways respected the fact he is not politically correct. And I am very grateful for this issue being brought up. Welfare claimants are among the most stigmatised people in the UK. Aside from the counterproductive system in place, welfare claimants constantly face ignorant generalisations. The self righteous caller from Liverpool thinks he has it all worked out because in his narrow little mind we are all lazy criminals.
What alot of people don't know, is that people want to get off benefits and go out to work however there is no incentive to do so as some people are better off living with benefits than going out to work. For example some benefits include not having to pay rent if a person decided to go out to work they would most likely have to pay £200-300 for rent a month leaving exact or not much more than they would have had on benefits.
Politicratos the benefits system is in place to help support people between jobs. Given the choice I would rather work for the money rather than sit around doing nothing. At least you get possibility of promotion, overtime, self esteem, references, exersize and you can apply for better paid jobs whilst working. Its about getting yourself out of a rut not just about money.
@Politicratos "What alot of people don't know, is that people want to get off benefits and go out to work however there is no incentive to do so as some people are better off living with benefits"
People are not better off living on benefits. I challenge anyone to live on £60 per week while the landlord demands you pay rent or get thrown on the streets. It was depressing and I didn't enjoy having to buy little food to last me while jumping ticket barriers in order to attend job interviews.
The media always stereotyping the unemployed, that we are all low life chavs and bums who don't want to work.
