Stopthelies-Thanks for your kind words which is certainly the minority response I've received from Christians (ironic, isn't it?) As an ex-Christian, I don't really have a problem w/orthodox Christians such as yourself (I'm assuming) and find radical atheists as annoying as "on fire" Christians.

(Cont'd from above) But I despise Charismatics (sorry if you're one). I was part of the Vineyard Movement and feel I was lied to and manipulated and that they did real damage to my life. Of course, I'm also angry with myself for letting them play me for a fool. Back in the 80s when I was involved, they weren't obviously whacked out as they are today. However, the seeds of what has grown were all there. Perhaps, Bentley is just the inescapable, logical conclusion to Pentecostalism. Peace 2 u.

Thank you for your honesty. I am a Pentecostal minister & a theologian (yes a Pentecostal theologian), but all I can do is apologise for the harm those who are at the extreme of the Charismatic & Pentecostal movements.Truth be told, it's not always the extremes that do the harm. I'm not the pastor of a church now. I'm the Director of an Interdenominational Mission, & I spend a lot of time challenging the 'spiritual abuse' in churches & trying to bring healing & stability to a damaged church.

I thank the Lakeland Revival. I was doubting. Jesus said we'd do the same works & greater than his. Yet the only miracles today seem phony, vague, the result of self-fulfilling prophecies by simple people in the throes of religious ecstasy, & any documentation is dubious at best.

Then I realized that 1st cent people were even more superstitious than these people so Jesus's faith healings were probably just what we see today. Except exaggerated by oral tradition and primitive literature. Thanks.

You are proof that Todd has done harm to people & Church

The Biblical pattern after healing was to go to the Priest's. It was the teachers of Law, who would have loved to have said the healings Jesus performed were false, who witnessed a lot of the healing of Jesus, & were silenced, because of the proof.

Sadly Batty Bentley has done you no good at all, that is why we asked is for the proof. Because we could see he was fake.

Don't give up on God, because He has not given up on you.

a small responce on here, he says that 'A man claimed to see lights and shadows who he talked & even held the glass eye of! But he verified it by asking his pastor? Why not try it himself with the other eye closed & covering & uncovering the glass one?

If God Heals it is complete healing ie new eye!

I do have degrees, from Sheffield University and the University of Wales in Bangor. However I am also dyslexic, though never applied for any extra assistance to compensate for this while studying because I believe in a level playing field.

Hey, you should go look at the Christian Research Services website. They actually called the fire department and some hotels in Seattle and found that there was only one hotel fire around the time Bentley was there. It only burned one room and was started by a man who fell asleep with a cigarette in his mouth. Is Bentley making this stuff up and purposely lying?

I think I used the wrong word... I mean that Goll speaks about Bentley as a champion, but now we know that things went wrong (Bentley's marriage problems and problems with drinking). So the champion has fallen down...
