Perhaps Engelhart should start by explaining his own omissions. How is it that this truthtellers overlooked the Israel lobby with such consistency? I have seen no mention of it on his website.
I like TomDispatch, but what he says here is a load of crap. Is he really claiming the 'war for oil' nonsense as a mark of his courage? Everyone and his little sister spews that same nonsense. And in doing so, as Philip Weiss points out, have served as the enablers of neocons.
Defense Secretary Gates has been lamenting of late that our foreign policy is too militaristic. Apparently, the Pentagon would like to have more of the responsibility for this administration's foreign policy failures placed upon the shoulders of the State Department.
I agree, it´s nothing new apparently. It is, or seems to be, a conspiracy because all the media are in the hands of a few people, and these people have their own interests and agendas, or are part of groups with own interests and agendas. So it´s not really a wonder this circumstances are reflected in the content published by the mass medias. You can call it a conspiracy, but that wont change much. Strong anti-trust measures against some of the media would change a lot, I guess.
I guess if you are a newsman and you wish to continue to be a newsman, you have to keep denying and buring the truth like a dog with a bone. You would be on the outs in the blink of an eye if you ever got into the driving forces of this stuff. Our leaders are like Joe Stalin, Hitler and Al Capone with the power of the US armed forces. Are we all so afraid of them. Will you lose your job and your fancy digs and status mobile?
The news is still acting like the Bush people did not carry off 911 and are using their "political capital" and fear to make everyone act like it is not so. Even you guys apparently. It is so fucking obvious, but everyone just goes along with the big top down lies. This is nothing new The only place where that kind of thing does not actually occur is science where the truth is normally sequestered by the political types with blackmail by fear. Dark ages kind of stuff.

its been suggested and I'd be had pressed not to have a majority agreement on having anti-trust laws against media.
However. This is in the behalf of the people. Congress is looking out for itself now.
