the first soviet mission...When you completed it, the following video touched me like no other. Civilians were running from the planes (my planes!) that fired upon them. While women and children were screaming and running, a little child dropped a toy teddy bear in the street. That was one of the biggest emotional moments I have ever experienced in games. To this date, it still remains the one, i will aleways remember. Thank you westwood. Too bad, RA3 was such a total joke.

EA makes war sound all happy and stuff...with dum music. Westwood makes great music and it gives me goose bumps and it has things that really exist like M3A3 bradleys, Apaches, Chinooks, jeeps, MiGs, hinds, and a bunch of other stuff. EA suks, i mean it has japanese robots and crap, and they keep using that dum time machine! Everytime they use it something bad happens.

Technically in my opinion Red Alert, along with Aftermath and Counterstrike along with Tiberian Dawn and the Covert Ops is the only games worthy of the title "Command & Conquer". The rest of the games should of been worked on more extensively.

C&C: Tiberian Dawn (first ever)

C&C: Red Alert (first in series)

C&C: Generals (technicly a good RTS, but should not have the C&C name)

C&C 3: Tiberium Wars (technicaly a gameplay remake of Tib Dawn with some extras and a whole new faction)

Tib Sun was ruined, RA2 was made too fast (and caused the RA series, which should not have been, too look "comical", I say it look insulting to players) and RA3 is yet another attempt to make easy money.

@JamesRadnus Agree about the RA2 part. I just tried playing it for the first time and it's way too cartoonish and fast for me. You can literally lose the base within a minute and the whole deal with dolphins, squids, telepathy and what not doesn't quite cut it for me. RA2's interface may be more polished than TS, but both use the same graphics engine and yet TS's more normal-looking graphics, colors and gameplay are much closer to original C&C/RA feel.

I'll take TS over RA2 any day.

@Testement117 Dont get me wrong, I didnt like the game, others have. However, much of the promises for TibSun, such as meteor priests and controlled drop pods were either removed or marginalized. Further more, much of the graphics were rendered "2 and a half dimensional" where as the Titan, for example, was originally intended and shown to be full 3D. I can understand that it was necessary to keep system requirements down, but by the time the game was released, PCs could handle it.

I remember screens of Nod using Red Alert's Heavy Tank and Mammoth Tank, the release version only offered the Tick Tank as MTB.

This is such an amazing game. Great storyline, great soundtrack... playable as hell. Its strange, but it gives you that feeling of interactive movie. Absolutly love C&C1, RA1, Generals, C&C3, Tiberian Sun. The rest is poor.

And btw winning with the Soviet Union is much more fun. Destroying American buildings (as possible in Red Alert 2) is the icing on the cake.

Ashamed as I am I can say I have RA3 in my possession and even played the game. There are some cool things in it, but the game seriously lack a serious approache to certain things. Though not being as childish as RA2, it still has some major elements that are cliché, and some things are highly annoying. In my opinion, RA 2 should not even have been in existence, thus no RA3 would be created in the first place. EA wanted to milk the C&C name and did so much too fast. A lack of commitment I say..

You know I think RA2 was released because of EA (Then again Westwood might have eventually) NOTE:Command and Conquer Was the Name of the Game "Red Alert" was a sign of a sequel (In this case Prequel) So Command And Conquer Red Alert Was a Prequel to the first (Which was heavily Connected to the original) It may never have been never intended for Red Alert to separate from the series (Still I like them nonetheless)+ RA2 Was rushed (EA gave WW 1 Year to make the game WTF?) might have been better.

The thing is...in their attempt to have a "comical" game, they made a game that makes you feel like an immature kid just playing it. I have a feeling that Playing RA3 will make me feel like a grownup playing with Legos or watching Barney or some crap. RA1, gave you the feeling you were helping to fight back the hordes of communism, RA2/RA3 make you feel like your playing with colorful toys meant for 4 year olds. All the units look bubbly like toys they give to toddlers...

Mammoth looks like plastic toy, soviet reign in trouble again... RA2 and 3 looks more like childish comix from the times of cold war. RA 1´s atmosphere was simillar to first Fallout (only difference - RA was pre-apo, or at least could be). Now? Forget about story, it´s long time ago, let´s add some new sides (plenty of colors, tracks, legs and guns) to make it sell better. What will come next? Japan defeated by army of ants, orcs, protoss? by god, stop it!
